Abstract

Geographical conditions and a suboptimal drainage system capacity make Kubu Raya Regency in West Kalimantan Province highly vulnerable to flooding. This study aims to determine the priority scale in flood control in three subdistricts, including Sungai Raya, Sungai Ambawang, and Kuala Mandor B, by using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to stakeholders and related parties to obtain paired assessments of various criteria and alternative strategies. The analysis results show that the most effective priority strategies for each region are a reforestation program in Sungai Raya District, the implementation of flood-prone area zoning in Sungai Ambawang, and a revision of spatial planning policies in Kuala Mandor B. These findings are expected to provide an empirical basis for the local government in formulating effective flood mitigation policies.

This research is library research or library research that is descriptive qualitative. The sources of data used are verses of the Qur'an, books of interpretation and hadith as well as other scientific books. This research uses a science of interpretation approach with thematic interpretation method (maudu'i). The data obtained were collected and sorted accordingly. The technique of analyzing and presenting data is done by content analysis. From the description and analysis carried out in the research, it is concluded that al-Ihsan from the perspective of the Koran is the best form of human action performed perfectly. Al-Ihsan is a plus (more) value of the best deed done according to its level. The best deeds are carried out both towards God, fellow human beings, and the natural environment. Abstract

Optimizing PPPK Performance: A Feedback-Based Adaptive Model in West Sumbawa Regency Abstract The performance management framework for Indonesia's Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) is constrained by a rigid, annually-focused appraisal system. This study addresses this challenge by exploring how PPPK employees in West Sumbawa Regency perceive and interpret the role of their Work Agreements in day-to-day performance management. Employing a qualitative case study approach, we gathered primary data from in-depth interviews with 13 PPPK staff, complemented by workplace observations. A primary finding reveals that participants construe the Work Agreement not as a dynamic tool for performance guidance, but as a ceremonial 'annual formality' invoked solely for terminal evaluation. This process, perceived as being devoid of meaningful dialogue and feedback, consequently fosters uncertainty and anxiety surrounding contract renewal. This perception was corroborated by observational data, which indicated a scarcity of routine performance communication between supervisors and their staff. Ultimately, this study concludes there is a profound disconnect between the intended function of the Work Agreement and its lived reality in practice. This gap underscores the critical need for a more dialogic and sustainable performance management model tailored to the PPPK context. Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on adaptive performance management in the public sector, while practically, it offers a blueprint for developing a continuous feedback model within the context of regional bureaucracy.

Abstract

Traffic accidents remain a critical challenge in urban transportation systems, particularly on arterial corridors with high traffic volumes. This study aims to evaluate traffic accident risk and identify accident-prone locations on Veteran Street and Pahlawan Street in Pontianak City, Indonesia. Traffic accident data from 2019 to 2023 were obtained from official records of the Pontianak City Police. Accident vulnerability was analyzed using the Accident Rate method to measure accident intensity per road length and the Equivalent Accident Number (EAN) method to incorporate accident severity through weighted casualty indicators. The Upper Control Limit (UCL/BKA) method was applied to determine statistical thresholds for identifying accident blackspots. Results show that both Veteran Street and Pahlawan Street have accident rate values exceeding 1.0, indicating that these corridors are categorized as accident-prone roads. Two segments were identified as significant blackspots: the 0.230–0.460 km segment on Veteran Street and the 0.000–0.175 km segment on Pahlawan Street, where EAN values exceed the BKA threshold. The findings highlight priority locations for traffic safety improvements and provide an empirical basis for infrastructure enhancements, traffic control measures, and enforcement strategies to reduce accident risk in urban road networks.

Abstract

Ankle sprain is one of the most common musculoskeletal injuries in sports and frequently progresses to Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI). This condition is characterized by recurrent episodes of ankle giving way, neuromuscular control deficits, and an increased risk of recurrent injury. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of CAI among university students with a history of ankle sprain using the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CAIT) and to analyze the association between several risk factors and the occurrence of CAI. This study employed a cross-sectional observational design. The sample consisted of 50 students with a history of ankle sprain. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire and the CAIT instrument. Descriptive statistics were used to determine CAI prevalence, and Chi-square analysis was applied to examine the association between risk factors and CAI. CAI was defined as a CAIT score ≤24. The findings showed that 72% of participants were classified as having CAI, while 28% were categorized as non-CAI. Statistical analysis revealed that recurrent ankle sprain was significantly associated with CAI (p = 0.008). In contrast, sex and athletic participation were not significantly associated with CAI (p > 0.05). The prevalence of CAI among students with a history of ankle sprain is relatively high. Recurrent ankle sprain appears to be the most significant risk factor contributing to CAI. These findings highlight the importance of sensorimotor and neuromuscular rehabilitation programs in physiotherapy practice to prevent the development of CAI.
