Abstract

Conceptual understanding is a fundamental aspect of science and social studies (IPAS) learning, as it serves as the foundation for students to relate scientific and social knowledge to phenomena encountered in everyday life. A strong conceptual understanding enables students not only to recall information but also to explain, classify, and appropriately apply concepts in various IPAS learning contexts. This study aimed to examine whether the guided inquiry method has an effect on students’ conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject among fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Syamtalira Bayu. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi experimental design. The research population consisted of 54 fifth-grade students from two classes. Purposive sampling was used to select the sample, comprising 27 students from class Vb as the experimental group and 27 students from class Va as the control group. Data were collected using a pretest and posttest consisting of 10 multiple choice questions. The collected data were analyzed using an Independent Samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 21. Based on the data analysis, the significance value obtained was 0.023, which was less than 0.05; therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. It can be concluded that the guided inquiry method has a significant effect on students’ conceptual understanding in the IPAS subject among fifth-grade students at SDN 1 Syamtalira Bayu. These findings indicate that the implementation of the guided inquiry method positively influences students’ conceptual understanding in solving problems related to IPAS learning

Abstract

The Seurembek tradition is a collective Qur’an recitation practice with deep spiritual and social meaning for the local Muslim community in Pidie Regency, Aceh. This practice not only functions as a form of worship but also as a space for social interaction that strengthens community ties and provides meaning to life for its practitioners. This study aims to examine the contribution of the Seurembek tradition to individual psychological well-being and community resilience through a positive psychology framework. A descriptive, qualitative approach was employed, with data collection conducted through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving Seurembek practitioners, religious leaders, and local community members. The research findings indicate that Seurembek strengthens several dimensions of psychological well-being, including providing meaning and purpose in life, increasing positive emotions, and fostering intense social connectedness. In addition, this practice plays an essential role in strengthening community resilience to various social and spiritual pressures by fostering solidarity, social cohesion, and collective coping mechanisms rooted in religious and cultural values. This finding confirms that preserving the Seurembek tradition has strategic value for improving mental health and social resilience, grounded in local wisdom. The implications of this research open opportunities to develop contextual and culturally oriented positive psychology interventions for Muslim communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Whole Body Reaction Time (WBRT) is an important biomotor component in the performance of badminton athletes, especially in responding to unexpected stimuli during matches. This study aims to compare the WBRT between male singles and doubles badminton athletes aged 14–17 years. The research used a quantitative comparative approach with purposive sampling technique. The population consisted of 60 athletes at PB Taqi Arena, West Bandung Regency. Based on the inclusion criteria, 37 athletes were selected as samples, consisting of 18 singles and 19 doubles athletes. Data collection was conducted on May 3–4, 2025. Measurements included anthropometry (Omron Karada Scan HBF-375), height (Stature Meter OneMed HT701), and WBRT (Whole Body Reaction Measuring Equipment Takei TKK-5408). Shapiro–Wilk normality test results indicated normal distribution in both groups (p > 0.05). The average WBRT for singles athletes was 0.286 ± 0.024 seconds, while for doubles athletes it was 0.260 ± 0.021 seconds. The independent samples t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.002). These findings indicate that doubles athletes have better whole body reaction speed compared to singles athletes. This difference is likely influenced by tactical demands and playing patterns in doubles, which require quick responses to stimuli from both opponents and partners. These results can serve as a basis for designing specific training programs based on match type to optimally improve athletes' reaction performance. Keywords: badminton, reaction time, whole body reaction, singles and doubles events.

Abstract

Agility is an important component in badminton. Agility is the ability to move with speed and accuracy to reach the shuttlecock in various corners of the court. This study aims to analyze the correlation between lower-limb power and body composition on agility performance in badminton athletes. Participants were 27 female badminton athletes aged 15.44 ± 0.97 years. Body composition (height, body fat percentage - BF%, body mass, BMI, skeletal whole body muscle - SM%), countermovement jump - CMJ, and t-test agility was measured. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation test and hierarchical multiple regression. Spearman correlation test showed that there was no significant relationship with agility (r = -0.40, p = 0.884). Hierarchical regression analysis showed that age, body composition, and CMJ only explained 17.4% of the variance in agility, with a statistically insignificant contribution (ΔR² = 0.019, p = 0.483). Among the independent variables, BF% had a strong positive relationship with body mass (r = 0.763, p < 0.01), indicating that the higher BF%, the higher the body mass. Meanwhile, SM% had a significant negative correlation with BF% (r = -0.498, p < 0.01) and body mass (r = -0.506; p < 0.01), indicating that the higher SM%, the lower the BF% and body mass. Although the variables tested did not contribute significantly to agility, various previous studies have shown that training programs such as plyometrics, core strength training, and Velocity-Based Resistance Training (VBRT) are effective in increasing lower-limb power, which also affects agility. Keywords: agility, body fat, skeletal muscle, lower-limb power, CMJ, youth, badminton

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how waste management practices and environmental impact are affected in Wonomulyo District, Polewali Mandar Regency, by the use of eco-enzymes and organic waste management.  The large amount of organic waste produced in conventional markets and the general lack of knowledge about environmental effects serve as the foundation for the study.  Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3 was used in a quantitative manner.  Structured questionnaires addressing eco-enzyme, organic waste, environmental impact, and waste management factors were used to gather data from household respondents.  The findings demonstrate that eco-enzyme, like organic waste management, has a favorable and noteworthy impact on waste management and environmental impact.  The relationship between eco-enzyme and waste management, as well as between organic waste and waste management, is mediated by environmental impact, which also has a major impact on waste management.  In order to achieve efficient and sustainable waste management, these findings emphasize the significance of combining community-based appropriate technology with increased environmental consciousness.  The study's conclusions can be used as a foundation for developing regional regulations pertaining to the control of organic waste and the mitigation of climate change.

Abstract

A deep learning-based learning model was developed to enhance students' reflective and contextual understanding of learning materials while internalizing the values of the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aimed to create a contextual learning model for high school students in science class, employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential tests, including the Independent Samples t-Test and Paired Samples t-Test, to evaluate the model's effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The results revealed a significant difference in the experimental group, as the Paired Samples t-Test indicated a notable difference between the pre-test score (68.47) and the post-test score (83.20), with a t-value of -9.127 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Additionally, the Independent Samples t-Test demonstrated that the average post-test score of the experimental group (83.20) was significantly higher than that of the control group (74.13), with a t-value of 4.213 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the local wisdom-based model effectively improves student learning outcomes compared to the conventional approach. This study highlights the importance of implementing an immersive learning model in high schools, emphasizing contextual strategies that engage students in critical and reflective thinking to internalize the values of the Pancasila Student Proficiency Profile. However, the limitations of this model, such as time and space constraints, suggest the need for further longitudinal research across various educational settings to comprehensively evaluate its effectiveness and adaptability.

Abstract

This article aims to analyse the integration of reconstructionist thought in Islamic Religious Education. Reconstructionism as an approach in educational philosophy views education as an important instrument in the process of social change. In the realm of contemporary Islamic education, this approach has become a strategic alternative in responding to the challenges of modernity, the crisis of values, and the need for curriculum reform. This study adopts the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to examine five scientific articles highlighting the application of reconstructionist thought in the context of Islamic education. The research findings indicate that reconstructionist principles play a significant role in strengthening character education, redesigning the curriculum, mainstreaming the Islamization of knowledge, and fostering social awareness among students. The results of this study provide a solid theoretical foundation for the development of a more progressive, adaptive, and contextual model of Islamic education
