Abstract

 Abstract: The objectives of this research were to find out: (1) which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, those treated with direct learning, those with GI with PMR or those with TTW with PMR approach, (2) which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, those with high or medium or low learning creativity, (3) in each learning creativity, which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, those treated with direct learning, those with GI with PMR or those with TTW with PMR approach, and (4) in each learning model, which students had the better mathematics learning achievement, those with high or medium or low learning creativity. This research was a quasi experimental research employing 2 independent variables (learning model and learning creativity) and 1 dependent variable (mathematics learning achievement). The population of research was all of the VIII graders of Public Junior High Schools in the school year of 2013/2014. The sampling technique used was Stratified Cluster Random Sampling. The sample students consisted of three schools: SMP Negeri 1, SMP Negeri 6 and SMP Negeri 2 Karangmalang Sragen. The proposed hypotheses of the research were tested by using the two-way analysis of variance (ANAVA) with unbalanced cells with the factorial design of 3 x 3. The results of research were as follows: (1) the students treated with direct learning model had learning achievement as good as those with GI learning model with PMR approach, those with TTW learning model with PMR approach had learning achievement better than those with direct learning, while those with TTW with PMR had learning achievement as good as those with GI learning model with PMR approach, (2) the students with high learning creativity had learning achievement as good as those with medium one, those with high and medium learning creativity had learning achievement better than those with low one, (3) in each learning creativity level, the students treated with direct learning model had learning achievement as same as those with GI learning model with PMR approach, those with TTW learning model with PMR approach had learning achievement better than those with direct learning, and those with TTW with PMR had learning achievement as same as those with GI learning model with PMR approach, (4) in each learning model, the students with high learning creativity had learning achievement as same as those with medium one, those with high and medium learning creativity had learning achievement better than those with low one.Keywords: Group Investigation (GI), Think Talk Write (TTW), Realistic Mathematics Education approach, Learning Creativity.

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this study were to determine: (1) among the cooperative learning model TAI type equipped AfL, TAI or direct learning equipped AfL that provide better learning achievement. (2) among students who have cognitive style type of field dependent or fields independent that provided better learning achievement. (3) on each of students group with cognitive style type (field dependent or field independent), which learning models that provide better learning achievement. (4) on each of learning model (cooperative learning model of TAI type equipped AfL, TAI or direct learning equipped AfL), which cognitive styles that provide better learning achievement. This research was quasi-experimental research. The population was all of seventh grade students of State Junior High School in Surakarta in academic year of 2013/2014. The research samples ware 302 students, taken used a stratified cluster random sampling technique. The data collection instruments used ware learning achievement test and cognitive style test. Hypothesis testing used unbalanced two ways analysis of variance. The research conclusions are as follows.  (1) The TAI learning model equipped AfL provides better learning achievement than TAI learning model and direct learning equipped AfL, while TAI learning model provides better learning achievement than direct learning model equipped AfL. (2) Students with cognitive style of field independent have better learning achievement than students with field dependent. (3) In the cognitive style of field dependent and field independent, TAI learning models equipped AfL provides better learning achievement than TAI learning model and direct learning model equipped AfL, while TAI learning model provides a better learning achievement than direct learning model equipped AfL. (4) In the TAI learning model equipped AfL, TAI and direct learning model equipped AfL, the students group with cognitive styles of field independent have better learning achievement than students with field dependent.  Keywords: TAI, AfL, Cognitive Style, and Learning Achievement.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to find out the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student mathematics communications ability. The learning model compared were TTW (Think Talk Write), NHT (Numbered Head Together) and conventional. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental by 3 12×"> 3 factorial design. The population was the eight grade student of junior high school in Magelang regency on academic year 2013/2014. The sampling tecnique was stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the sampel was 298 students consisted of 100 students in the first experimental group, 99 students in second experimental group and 99 students in control group. The instruments used were mathematics achievement test and mathematics communication ability test. The data was analyzed using unbalanced two-way analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research were as follows. (1) TTW learning model gives better mathematics achievement than NHT and conventional learning model, and NHT learning model gives better mathematics achievement than conventional learning model. (2) The students with high mathematics communication ability have better mathematics achievement than the students with middle or low mathematics communication ability, the students with middle mathematics communication ability have better mathematics achievement than the students with low mathematics communication ability, (3) a. In the students with high and middle mathematics communication ability, TTW,  NHT and conventional learning model give the same mathematics achievement,  b. In the students with low mathematics communication ability, TTW and NHT learning model give the same mathematics achievement, but give better mathematics achievement than conventional learning model, also NHT and conventional learning model give the same mathematics achievement, (4) a. In the TTW and NHT learning model, students with high, middle and low mathematics communication ability have the same mathematics achievement, b. In the conventional learning model, students with high and middle mathematics communication ability have the same mathematics achievement, but have better mathematics achievement than students with low mathematics communication ability, and students with middle and low mathematics communication ability have the same mathematics achievement.Keywords: TTW, NHT, mathematics communication ability, mathematics achievement

Abstract

Abstract: The study aimed to know: 1) which one of the learning models gave a better achievement between Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model with Open-Ended Approach, TPS, or direct learning model, 2) which one of the students with mathematical disposition category had a better achievement between students with high, moderate or low mathematical disposition, 3) in each student’s mathematical disposition category, which learning model gave a better student’s achievement in mathematics, 4) in each learning models, which one of the students with mathematical disposition category had a better student’s achievement in mathematics. This was quasi-experimental study with 3x3 factorial design. The study population was all eighth grade students of state junior high school in Purworejo District. Instruments used to collect data were mathematics achievement test and the student’s mathematical disposition questionnaire. The data were analyzed using unbalanced two ways ANOVA. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that: 1) TPS with Open-Ended Approach gave better achievement than TPS and direct learning model while TPS and direct learning model gave same achievement, 2) the students with high mathematical disposition had better achievement than the students with moderate and low mathematical disposition, and the students with moderate mathematical disposition had better achievement than the students with low mathematical disposition, 3) at all categories of students’ mathematical disposition, TPS with Open-Ended Approach, TPS, and direct learning model gave the same achievement, 4) in the TPS with Open-Ended Approach and TPS, the students with high mathematical disposition had better achievement than the students with moderate and low mathematical disposition, and the students with moderate mathematical disposition had better achievement than the students with low mathematical disposition. Abstract

Abstract: The research objectives were to determine and to describe creative thinking characteristic of 7th grade students of SMP N 1 Kragan in solving and proposing problem at comparative case seen from the cognitive style. This research belonged to descriptive research by qualitative-explorative approach. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The subjects being used in this research were 4, those were 2 students with field dependent cognitive style and 2 students with field independent cognitive style. The subject grouping based on cognitive style was taken by group embedded figures test. There were two instruments that were used to collect the data of this research. The first instrument was solving and proposing problem test instrument. The second was interview guidance. They were validated by using the time triangulation test and the reference fulfillment. The data were analyzed using a Miles and Huberman’s concept, that was data reduction, presentation, and conclusion.. The results of this research show as follows, (1) Creative thinking characteristics of students who had field dependent cognitive style in solving and proposing problem were as follows. The fluency aspect was shown by the students through 4 stages of creative thinking process, both in solving and proposing the problem. The four stages were preparation stage, incubation stage, illumination stage, and verification stage. The flexibility aspect in solving problems appeared when the students gave the other alternative answer, whereas this aspect was not fulfilled in proposing the problems.  The originality aspect was not fulfilled in solving and proposing problems. (2) Creative thinking characteristics of students who had field independent cognitive style in solving and proposing problem were as follows. The fluency aspect was shown by the students through 4 stages of creative thinking process, both in solving and proposing the problem. The four stages were preparation stage, incubation stage, illumination stage, and verification stage. The flexibility aspect in solving problems was shown when the students gave the other alternative answer, while in proposing the problem this aspect was not completed because students were able to make only one question. The originality aspect in solving the problem could be seen when the students gave a new way solution and this  was different from the previous one. Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research were to find out the different effect of each categories of learning model, students interpersonal intelligence and their interaction towards students mathematics learning achievement on the subject of plane geometry. The research was quasi experimental with 3×3 factorial design. The population was all students of grade VIII State Junior High School in Madiun City on the second semester of 2013/2014 academic years. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling technique. The sample of this research consisted of the students of SMP N 3 Madiun, SMPN 7 Madiun, and SMPN 10 Madiun. The sample consisted of 260 students. The hypothesis test used unbalanced two ways analysis of variance at the significance level of 0,05. Based on hypothesis test, it can be concluded that: (1) the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type gives a better mathematics achievement than cooperative learning model of NHT type and direct learning model, and the cooperative learning model of NHT type gives a better mathematics achievement than direct learning model; (2) students with the high interpersonal intelligence had the same achievement as students with the medium interpersonal intelligence, students with the high interpersonal intelligence had better achievement than students with the low interpersonal intelligence and the students with the medium interpersonal intelligence had the same achievement as students with the low interpersonal intelligence; (3) on the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type, NHT type and direct learning model, students with the high interpersonal intelligence had the same achievement as students with the medium interpersonal intelligence, students with the high interpersonal intelligence had better achievement than students with the low interpersonal intelligence and the students with the medium interpersonal intelligence had the same achievement as students with the low interpersonal intelligence; and (4) on students interpersonal intelligence high, medium and low, the cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type gives a better mathematics achievement than cooperative learning model of NHT type and direct learning model, and the cooperative learning model of NHT type gives a better mathematics achievement than direct learning model.Keywords:  Jigsaw, NHT, interpersonal intelligence

Abstract

Liquid wastes from the bioethanol industry bottom rest of the distillation process known as vinasse. High COD content of the vinasse more appropriately treated by the anaerobic process which produce biogas. Anaerobic waste treatment processes produce biogas consisting of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2). This research aims to study the influence of fermentation method, feed composition, variations in the initial pH of fermentation 6, 7, and 8, and feed dilution in 1:0, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5 (Total Solid (TS) 27.865%, 13.93%, 9.288%, 6.96%, 5.573%, 4.64%). Sources of bacteria used is cow rumen fluid and urea as a nutrient. Batch fermentation process is done by measurement of gas every two days using  water displacement technique up to gas had not formed. The results of research showed that the methods of without controlling pH on the composition of vinase rumen urea and initial pH 7is the best variable to the total biogas production of 635 ml (8:49 ml biogas / gr COD). The variable dilution feed for diversify TS show that highest biogas production is between the ratio of 1:4 (5.573% TS) and 1:5 (TS 4.64%) in amount of 27.22 to 30.17 mL/g TS.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to find out: (1) which one is better among learning models of RT with scientific approach, QSH with scientific approach or classical with scientific approach one in giving mathematics learning achievement, (2) which one is better among students’ learning styles, students having visual, auditorial or kinesthetic giving mathematics learning achievement. (3) in each learning model, which one is better among students’ learning styles in giving mathematics learning achievement and (4) in each learning styles, which one is better among RT with scientific approach, QSH with scientific approach or classical with scientific approach in giving mathematics learning achievement. This research was the quasi-experimental research with 3×3 factorial design. The population of research was all grade VIII students of Junior High School (SMP) in Metro, Lampung. The samples were chosen by using stratified cluster random sampling. The instruments that were used to collect the data were the test of mathematics achievement and questionnaire of learning styles. As a requirement of research, both of the instruments should be measured.  Test of students’ learning achievement data was measured by using content validity, level of difficulty, discrimination power and reliability. Questionnaire data were examined by using content validity, internal consistency and reliability. Pre-requisite tests were used Lilliefors method for normality test and Bartlett method for homogeneity test. After examining the data, it shows that the populations have same variance and they were in normal distribution. Prior knowledge data are examined by using one-way ANOVA with unbalanced cells. It shows that three classes have balance prior knowledge. Meanwhile, the technique of analyzing the data was two-ways ANOVA with unbalanced cells. The result of research showed as follows. (1) The RT with scientific approach had better learning achievement than the QSH and classical with scientific approach. QSH with scientific approach provided better learning achievement than the classical with scientific approach, (2) The students having visual learning style had learning achievement as good as those having auditorial learning style. The students having visual learning style had better learning achievement than did those having kinesthetic learning style. The students having auditorial learning style had learning achievement as good as those having kinesthetic learning style.  (3) In each of learning styles, student’s mathematics learning achievement is in constancy with result of learning models (4) In each learning models, the student’s mathematics learning achievement is in constancy with  result of learning style categories.Keywords: Round Table (RT), Question Student Have (QSH), Classical,  Learning Style

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of the research were to determine: (1) which learning models that produces better mathematics achievement, TSTS-AfL (TSTS type accompanied by AfL through peer-assessment), R-AfL (roundtable type accompanied by AfL through peer-assessment), or CL (classical learning); (2) which students that have better mathematics achievement, students with climbers type, campers, or quitters; (3) in each type of AQ, which of the tree learning models that produces better mathematics achievement; (4) in each learning model, which of the tree types students that have better mathematics achievement. The research was a quasi-experimental research, with a factorial design 3x3. The population was all students of State Senior High School in East Lombok of 2014/2015. The sample obtained was 347 students. Instruments in the research were mathematics learning achievement test and AQ questionnaire. The data was analyzed using two-way analysis of variance with unequal cells. The results of the research indicated as follows: (1) TSTS-AfL produces better mathematics achievement than R-AfL and CL, R-AfL produces better mathematics achievement than CL; (2) Students with climbers type have better mathematics achievement than campers and quitters, students with campers type have better mathematics achievement than quitters; (3) For the students with climbers and quitters type, the use of TSTS-AfL produces mathematics achievement as well as R-AfL and better than CL, R-AfL produces mathematics achievement as well as CL. For the students with campers type, the use of    TSTS-AfL produces mathematics achievement as well as R-AfL and better than CL, R-AfL produces better mathematics achievement than CL; (4) Of                  TSTS-AfL, students with climbers type have mathematics achievement as well as with campers and better than quitters, campers type have achievement as well as quitters. Of R-AfL, students with climbers type have mathematics achievement as well as campers and better than quitters, and campers type have better mathematics achievement then quitters. Abstract

Pemilu dalam negara demokrasi Indonesia merupakan media atau sarana yang diberikan oleh Negara untuk pergantian pemegang kekuasaan baik dieksekutif maupun legislatif secara damai yang dilakukan secara berkala sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip yang digariskan konstitusi.Terkait dengan pentingnya pemilu dalam proses demokratisasi di suatu Negara, maka penting untuk mewujudkan pemilu yang memang benar-benar mengarah pada nilai-nilai demokrasi dan mendukung demokrasi itu sendiri artinya pemilu yang dapat menyalurkan dan mewujudkan aspirasi suara rakyat dalam berbagai kebijakan penyelenggaran Negara bukan sekedar pemberian legitimasi pemegang kekuasaan dengan begitu keberhasilan pemilu yang dilaksanakan merupakan kemenangan besar artinya kemenangan itu milik semua komponen bangsa bukan milik kemenangan peserta pemilu. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut pemilu harus dilaksanakan dengan menurut asas-asas tertentu. Asas-asas itu mengikat mengikat keseluruhan proses pemilu dan semua pihak yang terlibat, baik penyelenggara Negara, peserta, pemilih, bahkan pemerintah. UUD 1945 menentukan, pemilu harus dilaksanakan secara langsung, umum, bebas, rahasia, jujur, dan adil Kata kunci : pemilu dan pemilu demokratis.
