Abstract

Adolescent mental health is currently in an alarming condition; national data indicate that approximately one in three Indonesian adolescents (34.9%) experience mental health problems, with significant increases in anxiety and depression cases in the post-pandemic period. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Guidance and Counseling (GC) model at SMPN 43 Bandung using Edwards III Policy Implementation Model as the analytical framework. This research employed a qualitative case study approach with data collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The findings reveal that communication through In-House Training (IHT) ensures shared understanding and alignment between school leaders and implementers, while adequate budgeting and well-facilitated counseling rooms serve as key determinants of success, distinguishing this school from previous studies. The autonomous bureaucratic structure and formal collaboration through the TPPK Team, ESQ Training, Character Building initiatives, and the Homeroom Teacher Program establish an efficient referral system. Furthermore, the empathetic attitude of GC practitioners successfully eliminates the stigma commonly attached to counseling services, leading to a significant increase in students’ help-seeking behavior. However, the study also identifies gaps in the technical competence of GC teachers, particularly the need for enhanced mastery of advanced clinical counseling techniques. The study concludes that the implementation of GC services at SMPN 43 Bandung is highly effective due to the integration of strong managerial commitment and robust systemic support. This success demonstrates that eliminating instrumental barriers directly contributes to creating a healthy and stigma-free school climate. The model has strong potential to serve as a best practice reference for other educational institutions in managing adolescent mental health.

Abstract

The implementation of digital learning in schools has not been optimal in improving students’ critical thinking skills because technology is still used merely as a medium, has not been managed systematically or in a goal-oriented manner, and has not effectively promoted higher-level cognitive engagement in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and the development of High Order Thinking Skills. This study aims to examine the implementation model of digital learning based on the Maze educational game in improving students’ critical thinking skills through a Management by Objectives approach. The study employs a qualitative case study design using observation, interviews, and documentation with thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Maze-based learning is planned systematically with measurable objectives, implemented in an active and student-centered manner, and supported by continuous monitoring and evaluation. Supporting factors include teachers’ digital literacy, school principal leadership, the availability of digital facilities, and a collaborative culture, while inhibiting factors include technical constraints, differences in students’ abilities, and limited instructional time.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the leadership of school principals in building stakeholder collaboration to realize effective schools at SDN Bunikasih 2, Warungkondang District, and SDN Pasirmuncang, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings show that principals in both schools applied management functions comprehensively in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating collaborative efforts. SDN Bunikasih 2 implemented collaboration through formal organizational structures, such as task distribution and scheduled meetings, whereas SDN Pasirmuncang developed collaboration through social approaches grounded in community closeness. Both approaches proved effective in strengthening stakeholder support and improving the school climate. This study highlights that collaborative leadership that adapts to local social contexts is essential for building effective schools and enhancing community engagement in education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the optimization of interactive multimedia in Social Studies (IPS) learning through the application of the POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) management functions at SMPN 187 Jakarta and SMPN 225 Jakarta. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings show that teachers were able to plan multimedia use based on the characteristics of Social Studies content, organize learning tools and student role distribution, implement multimedia-based instruction that promotes analytical activity through videos, animations, and discussions, and conduct formative and summative evaluations to monitor students’ understanding. Interactive multimedia was found to enhance comprehension of abstract concepts, increase learning motivation, and foster students’ critical thinking and communication skills. This study affirms that successful multimedia integration heavily depends on teachers’ managerial competence and the availability of technological infrastructure in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of Canva as an instructional medium in Indonesian language learning to enhance higher-order thinking skills among elementary school students. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SDN Cengkareng Barat 05 Pagi and SDN Semanan 12 Pagi in West Jakarta. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings show that teachers implemented the functions of instructional management comprehensively, including needs-based lesson planning, organizing learning tools and student groups, conducting visual-media-based instruction using Canva, and evaluating both processes and products through formative feedback and portfolio assessment. Canva was found to assist students in identifying key information, analyzing reading content, and creating visual representations that support the development of higher-order thinking skills. This study highlights that the success of integrating digital media depends on appropriate instructional design and instructional management, enabling the reinforcement of students’ visual literacy, creativity, and analytical abilities.

Abstract

Kelompok belajar menjadi salah satu aktivitas untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru (mutu guru). Aktivitas ini tidak mudah dilakukan karena antara guru yang satu dengan guru yang lain memiliki sikap dan pemahaman yang berbeda. Ini menjadi masalah sehingga berdampak negative terhadap kompetensi guru tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis manajemen kelompok belajar dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru sekolah dasar. Dengan perkataan lain, fokus penelitian ini adalah pada perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan kelompok belajar di SDN Karangharja 3 dan SDN Kubang 1, Kabupaten Cianjur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengambilan sampel atau responden dilakukan dengan purpose sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kelompok belajar berkontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru, terutama dalam penguasaan materi, penerapan metode pembelajaran inovatif, serta kolaborasi antar guru. Namun, beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu, fasilitas yang kurang memadai, dan rendahnya partisipasi guru masih ditemukan dalam implementasinya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan dukungan kepala sekolah, penyediaan fasilitas yang lebih baik, serta penjadwalan yang lebih fleksibel agar kelompok belajar dapat berjalan lebih efektif guna mendorong peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam penyusunan modul ajar di dua Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) swasta di Kabupaten Cianjur, yaitu SMK Putra Pagelaran dan SMK Tazkia Sukanagara. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi dinamika manajerial kepala sekolah dalam mengelola transformasi kurikulum, serta dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru dan mutu pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua sekolah menerapkan pendekatan yang berbeda: SMK Putra Pagelaran lebih berorientasi pada struktur dan efisiensi, sementara SMK Tazkia menonjol dalam pendekatan relasional dan empatik. Meskipun terdapat kemajuan dalam kinerja guru, tantangan tetap muncul, seperti resistensi terhadap perubahan, keterbatasan infrastruktur, dan beban administratif. Kepala sekolah berperan penting sebagai agen transformasi dengan mempraktikkan gaya kepemimpinan situasional, transformatif, dan berbasis empati. Implikasi dari temuan ini menegaskan perlunya sistem evaluasi berbasis data, penguatan budaya organisasi, dan kolaborasi lintas sektor sebagai strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan berbasis sekolah. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual terhadap studi kepemimpinan pendidikan dan pengelolaan implementasi kurikulum berbasis konteks lokal.
