Abstract

Since the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1979, Shia and its community have been the subject of much research. This paper examines the phenomenon of conversion from Sunni to Shia in Indonesia. It seeks to identify the reasons people choose to convert to Shia, even though it can lead to psychological, economic, social, and political tensions. This is a qualitative research based on a fieldwork conducted in four cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Makassar. These cities are representative of Indonesia. The results of the study show that there are at least four 'gates' that are commonly cited as reasons for converting from Sunni to Shia. These gates are philosophy, history, irfan/sufism, and fiqh. The typology of encounters through the four gates is a strong typology that we found in our research. Most people who convert from Sunni to Shia usually pass through one or several gates that are key factors in their decision to accept Shia.

Abstract

This research aims to address the low learning participation of grade XII Sociology TL 3 students at SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak by implementing a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with a scientific approach. The study, conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR), was carried out in two cycles with 38 students. The research problem was identified through preliminary observations, revealing that students were passive, rarely asked questions, and exhibited low engagement during sociology lessons. Data collection techniques included classroom observations, which were used to measure student participation based on scientific approach indicators (observing, questioning, collecting information, reasoning, and communicating) and learning participation indicators (expressing opinions, answering questions, asking questions, providing arguments, and completing assignments). The findings showed that student participation increased from 64.8% in the first cycle to 89.4% in the second cycle, achieving the research performance target of ≥80%. This improvement was due to additional treatments in the second cycle, including optimizing group collaboration by assigning specific roles (discussion leader, recorder, presenter, and questioner) to ensure each student had clear responsibilities. Additionally, teachers provided more active guidance, used more relevant and engaging learning media, and facilitated deeper discussions to enhance student interaction. The results confirm that the integration of PBL and the scientific approach effectively increases student participation, fosters critical thinking, and creates an interactive and collaborative learning environment in sociology lessons.

Abstract

The Regional Representative Council (DPD) as a regional representative institution is located as a state institution. The existence of the DPD reflects the principle of territorial or regional representation (regional representation). Therefore, as a representative institution, the DPD should ideally have the legislative, supervisory and budgetary functions as well as the House of Representatives (DPR). However, the DPD as a representative institution with these three functions actually has a very weak and soft function. The two chambers of the House of Representatives (DPR and DPD) do not have balanced authority. DPD and DPR are two rooms (houses, chambers) whose authority is not balanced, because it is classified as soft bicameral.

Abstract

The lack of clarity regarding the relationship between position and content material for government regulations and presidential regulations can be seen in the provisions of Article 12 and Article 13 of Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning Formation of Legislation. From these provisions it can be seen that the material content of presidential regulations is broader than the content material of government regulations. From the explanation regarding the contents of government regulations and presidential regulations, it does not explicitly delegate further arrangements, there are no benchmarks for using government regulations or presidential regulations. This means that in this condition there is a similarity in the content of government regulations and presidential regulations. This research was conducted using a juridical-normative approach, research with reference to juridical aspects. This method is carried out through literature studies on various literature related to legal theories and principles. The results of this study indicate that there are inconsistencies in the position of presidential regulations, especially when juxtaposed with government regulations when viewed from the perspective of the material content. ___ Referensi Buku dengan penulis: Asshiddiqie, Jimly. Abstract

Lightweight concrete using pumice sand and modified Eps waste needs to be continuously developed to produce construction materials that prioritize the use of local and environmentally friendly materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the grain size of modified Eps aggregate as coarse aggregate on the compressive strength of lightweight concrete using pumice sand as fine aggregate. The specimens in this study used concrete cylinders with a diameter of 100 mm and a height of 200 mm. The specimen was tested with a compression test at the age of 28 days. The test results showed that the larger the size of the modified Eps aggregate tended to increase the compressive strength value, but the size of the modified Eps aggregate that was too large reduced its density and had an impact on reducing the compressive strength of the concrete
