Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan kajian literatur terkait dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam mengerjakan soal matematika pada jenjang SD, SMP, SMA, dan Perguruan Tinggi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR), yang terdiri dari 53 sampel hasil penelitian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Sampel terdiri dari jurnal terindeks yang diterbitkan pada periode 2015 – 2022. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mendokumentasikan semua artikel terkait pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, ditinjau dari tahun penelitian, jenjang pendidikan, ukuran sampel dan jenis penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapat, bahwa artikel mengenai kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa terkait karakteristik dan gaya belajar mendominasi pada delapan tahun terakhir, sedangkan artikel mengenai gender dan media pembelajaran cenderung sedikit serta kurang diminati oleh para peneliti. Peneliti lebih banyak melakukan penelitian pada jenjang pendidikan SMP dengan mayoritas jumlah sampel kurang dari 30.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model that is often used in learning mathematics. This meta-analysis study was conducted to summarize the effect of PBL with the help of GeoGebra software on students' mathematical abilities. Related databases were searched for studies that met the inclusion criteria. The estimation method uses a random-effect model with a 95% confidence interval. This study analyzed 5 primary studies published between 2016 and 2020 using the posttest-only group design experimental research method, and 320 students were involved. The Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) program was used to assist the analysis. As a result of the study, the overall effect size was 1.32 (strong effect) with a standard deviation of 0.021. Analysis of study characteristics revealed that the influence of the PBL model assisted by GeoGebra applications had a strong effect on the condition of the sample size of 1-40 students, secondary school education level and on mathematical problem-solving abilities. This finding is considered by practitioners of mathematics education to implement it in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the distribution of research related to the use of the Watson criteria in analyzing student errors at all levels of education. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The sample consists of 42 results of qualitative research on the use of Watson's criteria in analyzing student errors. Samples were taken from indexed journals published in the 2017-2021 period. The key question of this research is how the description of the distribution of research related to the use of the Watson criteria in analyzing student errors, is reviewed based on the year of publication, level of research, methods used, number of subjects, types of questions, demographics, and types of errors made by students. Through the SLR method, it was found that there was an increase and decrease in the number of studies over the last five years. Based on the criteria for junior high school level studies, the use of descriptive qualitative methods, using story questions, with less than 30 subjects, and the demographics of research on the island of Java are the most dominant. The most dominant student errors are procedural errors and missing conclusions. This becomes very important to be considered in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study examines the improvement of student learning outcomes using the Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun learning model. The application of the Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun learning model is closely related to other learning models. Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun learning models are helpful and can create meaningful learning. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR). This CAR research was conducted in two cycles. The research sample amounted to 22 people who were not taken at random. The data was obtained by using tests, namely the initial test, the first cycle test, and the second cycle test. They are calculating student completeness using the formula for individual mastery and classical wholeness and calculating the increase in learning outcomes using the N-Gain Normalized formula. Applying the Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun learning model can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects as the subject of probability theory.

Abstract

National Research Council mengembangkan konsep Mathematical Proficiency dalam lima strands yaitu: Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Fluency, Strategics competence, Adaptive Reasoning, and Productive Disposition. Tujuan dari studi ini untuk menganalis pengembangan mathematics proficiency dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Adapun tahapan SLR dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: 1) Mengembangkan pertanyaan penelitian; 2) Mendesain kerangka konseptual; 3) Membuat kriteria seleksi; 4) Mengembangkan strategi sencarian; 5) Menseleksi kajian berdasarkan kriteria seleksi; 6) Mengkode kajian; 7) Menentukan kualitas kajian; 8) Mensintensis hasil kajian; 9) Melaporkaan temuan. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 10 artikel yang paling relevan dari 102 artikel yang ditemukan menggunakan aplikasi publish and perish. Artikel-artikel yang dikaji merupakan artikel-artikel dari jurnal internasional yang terindeks scopus. Artikel diambil dari tahun 2010 sampai 2022. Kemampuan mathematical proficiency dapat dikembangkan dengan bantuan guru/pendidik melalui beberapa cara, antara lain: 1) memilih strategi pembelajaran yang tepat sesuai karakteristik peserta didik; 2) mempersiapkan perangkat pembelajaran; 3) menyiapkan soal-soal yang dapat mengembangkan proses berpikir matematis sehingga mengembangkan kecakapan matematis siswa ; 4) meningkatkan kompetensi seorang guru melalui seminar, pelatihan dan lainnya; 5) memberikan tantangan bagi siswa dalam belajar matematika.

Abstract

Nilai tukar mata uang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat perekonomian suatu negara. Peramalan nilai tukar diperlukan agar investor dapat mengetahui tingkat perekonomian negara tujuan investasi di masa datang. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode Bayesian Vector Autoregressive (BVAR) dalam memodelkan, melakukan peramalan,dan membandingkan hasil ramalan antara nilai tukar Rupee, Rupiah, dan Yuan terhadap Dolar Amerika Serikat dengan dua prior yang berbeda yaitu Litterman-Minnesota Prior dan Normal-Flat Prior. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan model, serta membandingkan hasil peramalan dengan metode BVAR dari masing-masing prior. Bayesian Vector Autoregressive (BVAR) berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya,terbukti mampu memberikan hasil peramalan yang lebih unggul. Hasil peramalan dari masing-masing prior menyatakan bahwa baik Litterman-Minnesota prior dan Normal-Flat prior menghasilkan peramalan yang akurat berdasarkan nilai Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) yang kecil. Kemudian, setelah dibandingkan, pada kasus peramalan nilai tukar Rupee, Rupiah, dan Yuan terhadap Dolar Amerika Serikat, Litterman-Minnesota prior memiliki nilai MAPE lebih kecil yang artinya hasilnya lebih akurat.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of junior high school students in solving closed and open mathematical problems and to describe the causes of junior high school students experiencing these difficulties. As many as 25 students of class VIII-D from one of the State Junior High Schools in Bandung Regency were used as research samples. Data was collected by using test techniques, interviews, and document studies. The stages of data analysis carried out are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that students had difficulty in converting the problem into a mathematical model, determining the required decision variables, calculating multiplication and division operations, and determining more than one answer in solving open problems. The difficulties experienced by these students are caused by the following: students feel that the problem given is something new, students are less careful in understanding the problems given, students still do not master the material, students are less careful in performing arithmetic operations, and students not accustomed to solving problems in the form of problem solving and open questions.

Abstract

Mathematical critical thinking skills is a person's capacity that includes a thought process that aims to obtain a rational thought to do something or believe what will be done. Many factors influence students' mathematical critical thinking skills, including intrapersonal intelligence and learning motivation. This research points to control the stimulate of intrapersonal intelligence and learning motivation on students' mathematical critical thinking skills. This study is quantitative research through an ex-post-facto approach. The population in this research is a class XI high school in the Sidrap district. The quantity of samples in this research was 85 students who were selected by the purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique in this study used an instrument consisting of (1) an intrapersonal intelligence questionnaire, (2) a learning motivation questionnaire, and (3) a mathematical critical thinking ability questionnaire. Analysis of the data used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using the PLS 3.0 smart computer program. The results of this study are that there is an influence between intrapersonal intelligence on students' mathematical critical thinking skills of 0.284 (P values = 0.039) and learning motivation affects students' mathematical critical thinking skills of 0,579 (P values = 0.00).

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian tentang implementasi STEM dalam pembelajaran semakin banyak dilakukan, sehingga perlu adanya penelitian yang merangkum hasil – hasil temuan penelitian STEM dalam pembelajaran Matematika khususnya pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang implementasi pendekatan STEM (Sains, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada tingkat SD, SMP, SMA dan Perguruan Tinggi. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) digunakan untuk mensintesis studi yang relevan dengan tujuan penelitian ini. Melalui mesin mencari Google Scholar, Directory Open Access Journal (DOAJ Semantic Scholar, serta Education Resources information Center (ERIC) diperoleh 28 studi primer yang diterbitkan dari tahun 2015 sampai tahun 2022 masuk kriteria inklusi untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian memberikan informasi bahwa pendekatan STEM memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan berpikir kritis matematis siswa/mahasiswa. Project Based Learning dan Problem Based Learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang secara signifikan sesuai untuk diterapkan dalam pendidikan STEM. Beberapa tinjauan karakteristik penelitian seperti ukuran sampel, tingkat pendidikan dan tahun penelitian dapat diteliti lebih lanjut untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Integrasi STEM dengan model pembelajaran dapat digunakan oleh pendidik untuk memfasilitasi siswa dengan berbagai tugas berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pengetahuan bagi pendidik dan peneliti tentang bagaimana seharusnya STEM diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika terkait dengan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa.Kata kunci: STEM, berpikir kreatif matematis, berpikir kritis matematis Abstract Research on the implementation of STEM in learning has been carried out, but there has been no research that summarizes the findings of STEM research in mathematics learning, especially on critical thinking skills and mathematical creative thinking skills. Through the search engine Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) and Directory Open Access Journal (DOAJ), 28 primary studies published from 2015 to 2022 fitted the inclusion criteria for further analysis. The results of study showed that the STEM approach has a positive effect on increasing students' creative thinking skills and mathematical critical thinking skill. Project Based Learning and Problem Based Learning are learning models that are significantly suitable to be applied in STEM education. Several reviews of research characteristics such as sample size, education level and years of research can be investigated further for further research. The integration of STEM with learning models can be used by educators to facilitate students with various project-based tasks and problem solving. Abstract

Mathematics learning achievement is influenced by the determination of minimum completeness criteria or cut scores which are the limits of student learning mastery scores as a measure of the achievement of the specified competencies. The cut score becomes a reference for teachers and students in achieving learning outcomes. This study aims to determine how students' chances of learning achievement are influenced by their self-efficacy and gender differences based on the set cut score. This is qualitative research using statistical analysis of a linear log model. This study describes systematically the analysis of the relationship between self-efficacy and mathematics learning outcomes based on gender differences with the best model offered by the results of the linear log statistical test. The subjects of this study were 192 junior high school students in Majalengka Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The selection of research subjects was carried out using a purposive sampling technique based on the research objectives in the form of the diversity of self-efficacy and student gender. All variables in this study are categorical variables classified based on the variable type and arranged in a contingency table. The results showed that the conditional association model was suitable for use in this research case with two interactions that occurred, namely (1) gender with learning outcomes in mathematics and (2) self-efficacy with learning outcomes in mathematics. Based on the analysis of the model obtained, three probability values can be concluded in general, namely: (1) the chances of female students having mastery in learning mathematics are greater than male students; (2) the chances of students with high self-efficacy are 3.99 times greater in getting mastery in learning mathematics, and (3) the chances of students with moderate self-efficacy are 2.06 times greater in getting mastery in learning mathematics.
