Abstract

Creativity is something that is very important to be a provision for students in living their lives in the future, especially in modern times like today. The purpose of this study was to analyze the creativity of students in elementary school through assignments. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The instruments used in this study were interview sheets and observation sheets regarding indicators of creativity carried out by students. The subjects in this study were grade 5 students with a total of 29 people consisting of 16 men and 13 women in one of the State Elementary Schools located in Cibatu District. The results showed that through the specific assignment of project assignments in the learning process, on the material of maintaining human health, students can show new creativity and benefit themselves. The emergence of creativity can be illustrated from the results of programs that have very interesting imagination results, the authenticity of the results of the products from the students themselves, the results of products that have very useful values and goals. Student-produced products such as drawings, poems, songs, and comics, can be viewed as simple but meaningful results of student creativity, and have useful purposes. Students are also more challenged to create something even better and truly their own work without imitating the work of others. In conclusion, the results of the analysis of student creativity through assignments can bring out the creativity of students who initially did not want to try to be more courageous trying to make simple works, Although only some students can bring it up, it can be said that project assignments can make students have a sense of responsibility and time discipline in completing their obligations in the learning process.

Abstract

Decision making is a very important ability possessed by individuals at this time, especially in solving socio-scientific issues. The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends regarding socio-scientific issue-based decision making in elementary schools by conducting a bibliometric analysis of bibliographic data on technical research articles indexed by Google Scholar by combining analysis in terms of bibliometric map distribution using VOS viewer software. The research data was obtained from Google Scholar database through the Publish or Perish reference management application. The data filtering process was carried out based on the keywords "decision making and socio-scientific issues" contained in the topic, title, keywords, and abstract domains. The tracing was carried out on articles published from 2006 to 2022. From the search results obtained 23 relevant articles. The results showed that research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was mostly carried out in 2010 and 2014. Research on decision making based on socio-scientific issues was rarely carried out at the elementary school level. So, it can be concluded that the opportunity for developing research regarding decision-making based on socio-scientific issues at the elementary school level is very large. Therefore, it is hoped that this study can provide references and considerations in seeking further research fields, especially those related to decision-making based on socio-scientific issues in elementary schools.

Abstract

Learning obstacles were found in students who studied LCM and GCF. This research aims to develop an initial design in the form of a hypothetical learning trajectory for LCM and GCF using the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explanation, and Create) learning model which is based on obstacles learning findings. This research is part of the design research method. The design research method consists of preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The focus of this research is the preliminary design stage. Based on the results, it is known that students have difficulties in solving questions on LCM and GCF material, namely that students cannot use the concepts of LCM and GCF to solve problems, students tend to think that the concepts of LCM and GCF are only factor trees or procedural factorization, and students do not understand the concepts of LCM and GCF. To overcome these learning obstacles, a hypothetical learning trajectory for the LCM and GCF was prepared using the RADEC learning model which was divided into three meetings. The first meeting was about multiples, common multiple, and LCM. The second meeting was about factors, common factors, and GCF. The third meeting was regarding determining the LCM and GCF using prime factorization. Each learning flow from each meeting is described in the form of HLT which consists of learning objectives, learning activities, and student thinking estimates. The theoretical implications in this research are the new findings of HLT LCM and GCF with the RADEC learning model and practical implications in this research are that HLT can be used as a consideration for teachers in designing LCM and GCF learning by paying attention to students' learning trajectories.

Abstract

The rapid development of science and technology produces consequences on the challenges that will be faced by students. Students need to develop 21st-century skills that include the ability to think critically, creatively, communicatively, and collaboratively. These skills can be obtained through the learning process, but in fact, in the field, there are still many teachers who adopt conventional learning models and tend to be teacher-centered. This kind of learning has an unfavorable impact on students' creativity, activeness, and critical thinking. This can be overcome by using the RADEC learning model. This research aims to find out the learning process that uses the RADEC model to increase student participation and student activeness in learning to foster 21st-century skills. This research uses the systematic literature review method with the PRISMA 2020 model. The 2020 prism model is used to assess the systematic review. The data collection process uses Google Scholar with a range of years 2019-2023. Data searches were carried out with the keyword Use of the RADEC Model in Elementary Schools. The results showed that 21st-century skills are crucial for students to have in facing the progress of modernization now. From the use of the RADEC model, the 21st-century skills that are improved include critical thinking, creativity, communication, and cooperation. In addition, the main challenge of RADEC model learning is if there are students who are not good at reading because the initial syntax of this model is reading. Students are required to be good at reading as an initial capital in finding information. Another challenge is that teachers must be able to analyze well related to the objectives and factors that affect the success of learning. It is hoped that this research can provide new knowledge for readers and can also be used as a reference in using the Radec learning model in schools.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan ini guru-guru kimia kedepannya sangat membutuhkan workshop yang bertemakan pembelajaran berbasis PBL.Improving the quality of human resources is a joint commitment that must be carried out by various elements, both government and society. Improving the quality of human resources means equipping them with various skills and competencies. These abilities can be possessed through various activities, both learning and practicing activities that are supported by various elements. The teacher's limitations on literacy and critical thinking skills sometimes make chemistry learning more theoretical, which is thought to be one of the causes of the low interest and motivation of students to study chemistry. Community Service (P2M) regarding workshops on deepening carbon chemistry through problem based learning (PBL) conducted online and offline with a scenario equivalent to 32 jp, namely 8 jp offline and 24 jp online. The target area for P2M activities is the Pangandaran chemistry MGMP in collaboration with teachers who are members of the Pangandaran Regency, Ciamis Regency, and Banjar City MGMP. The results obtained from this P2M activity are curriculum analysis of several sub-topics of carbon chemistry, including hydrocarbon compounds, macromolecules of organic compounds, benzene, and carboxylic acids. In addition to curriculum analysis, the participants also carried out conceptual analysis, misconception analysis, and learning strategies using the PBL model. In this activity, future chemistry teachers really need workshops with the theme of PBL-based learning.

Abstract

Elementary school students do not yet have a scientific understanding of light. For example, they represent vision as the process of objects being hit by light and the eye being automatically able to see them. Their verbal and visual representations present irrelevance to scientific beliefs. Students need to understand science more comprehensively through multiple-representation learning. The relevant diagnostic tests are needed to find out student multiple-representation profiles. However, diagnostic tests identifying multiple-representation profiles of elementary school students are still rare. This paper aims to communicate the results of development, validity, and reliability, as well as trials of the five-tier diagnostic test (5TDT) in measuring multiple representations of elementary school students about light concepts. The 5TDT is a developed version of the four-tier where there are answer choices and reasons and the level of student confidence in answering both. A package of 15 questions was developed, tested for readability by elementary school teachers and students, and then piloted. Two hundred twenty-seven elementary school students who had studied the concept of light attempted this test. Internal validity was submitted to five experts and showed valid results with several improvement notes. Meanwhile, the results of statistical tests on external validity and reliability show that the five-tier diagnostic test is valid and reliable. The five-tier diagnostic test can measure the diversity of students' representation of their ideas regarding the light concept with more precision. It is shown that they are dominating the Lack of Representation (LOR) level of 39% and Misconception (MIS) level of 31%.
