Abstract

The transformation of higher education in Indonesia presents challenges and opportunities for universities to develop adaptive learning ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the Semester Learning Plans (RPS) of Basic Chemistry courses to evaluate their alignment with digital-era learning needs. Using a qualitative approach, the research involves document analysis of 19 RPS, focusing on learning methods and the integration of digital technology. Data were validated through questionnaires distributed to lecturers in charge of these courses. Results reveal that active learning methods, such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Project-Based Learning (PjBL), dominate, yet the integration of innovative technologies like virtual laboratories and software-based simulations remains limited. The study highlights the importance of adaptive learning strategies, digital literacy, and culturally responsive teaching to support global demands. New findings emphasize the need for systematic lecturer training and institutional support to enhance technological adoption in teaching. This research contributes to the development of more effective and inclusive learning environments, benefitting both science education and society.

Abstract

This study aims to thoroughly describe virtual reality in the biology learning sector in general, the use of VR has been in the spotlight in the last two decades. This study conducted an in-depth bibliometric analysis using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify research trends, most frequently researched topics and major contributions in this field based on 24 collected articles indexed by scopus between 2003-2023. We conducted bibliometric analysis using RStudio and VOSviewer. There was the highest increase for virtual reality research in 2021, which is the experience of the corona pandemic in various sectors. The largest average citation was in 2014. Based on the results of the analysis using RStudio and VOSviewer, the keywords virtual reality and biology have been widely carried out and are interrelated with computer programs, but for general biology learning it is still rare so that it can be used as a recommendation for further research gaps. By considering the findings from the bibliometric analysis, this study can provide practical recommendations, summaries and opportunities to find further research gaps. This literature review also underlines how VR research in biology has filled existing knowledge gaps and provided new insights into learning complex biological concepts. Recent studies, especially post-pandemic, have increasingly emphasized the pedagogical effectiveness of VR in improving student engagement, concept understanding, and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create (RADEC) learning model from a character education perspective. This research uses library research or literature study, namely examining the RADEC learning model and character education using literature that is relevant and supports the research topic. The approach used in the research is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Researchers try to explore and provide arguments related to the RADEC learning model from a character education perspective. The results of the findings and discussion show that the RADEC learning model with the syntax Read, Ansew, Discuss, Explain, and Create is in accordance with the character education approach. RADEC is able to bring out student characters such as religious, diligent, disciplined, hard working, and fond of reading, curious, creative, tolerant, cooperative, and democratic, appreciating achievement, friendly, communicative. The emergence of character is patterned in the four character education approaches, namely the values instillation approach, cognitive development approach, values clarification approach, and action learning approach. Through the RADEC learning model, character can be transformed into knowledge, morals and behavior.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe whether the examined learning design can improve students' creativity. at the petroleum lesson by using the examined learning design. This research was conducted in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Takengon. The preferred samples were three second-grade students, a chemical teacher, and two expert lecturers. In this study, the method was descriptive. as it involved two experts, who were lecturers, a chemical teacher, and three second-grade high school students. The data collections were carried out through external and internal feasibility tests. An internal feasibility test was conducted on the chemistry teacher and two expert lecturers, while an external feasibility test was conducted on the three second-grade students. Based on the results, the score results in almost every RADEC stage with a percentage of 91.6% and categorized as very strong, except for the sub-indicator of development creativity or enriching ideas acquired scores of 83.3%. These results imply that petroleum oil learning design with the RADEC model is applicable in the learning process to develop students’ creativity. students’ creativity could be improved by applying chemical learning that uses this learning design.
