Abstract

Male participation in contraception remains limited worldwide because few safe and acceptable male contraceptive options exist. Natural products are being explored as potential regulators of male reproductive hormones. Areca catechu (areca nut), traditionally used in Southeast Asia, contains phytochemicals that may influence reproductive function. This study evaluated the effects of the ethanolic extract of young A. catechu seeds on serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and testosterone levels in male Wistar rats. Twenty-five rats were randomly assigned to five groups (0, 20, 40, 60, and 80 mg/kgbody weight) and treated daily for 48 days. Serum FSH and testosterone were measured by ELISA and analyzed by one-way ANOVA with Duncan’s post-hoc test. Mean FSH and testosterone values varied across doses, with the 40 mg/kg group showing the highest means (10.001 ± 10.413 ng/mL and 2.196 ± 1.254 ng/mL, respectively), but no statistically significant differences were detected for either hormone (FSH p = 0.043; testosterone p = 0.425). The results provide preliminary, hypothesis-generating evidence that the extract may influence the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis; however, any role in male fertility regulation remains unproven. Larger studies including sperm-quality assessment, mechanistic analyses, and toxicological evaluation are required before considering potential applications in male reproductive health.

Abstract

Arabic holds a significant position in Indonesian education due to its close association with Islamic teachings and classical Islamic literature. However, Arabic language instruction in higher education remains dominated by grammatical and translation approaches, with limited emphasis on communicative aspects. This study aims to analyze the use of Arabic vocabulary in students’ daily lives and to understand its contextual application in social and academic interactions. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research involved five students from the Arabic Language Education program who actively use Arabic within the campus environment. Data were collected through observation and interviews, and subsequently analyzed through processes of reduction, categorization, and contextual description. The findings reveal that students frequently employ five core vocabulary items: Assalamu’alaikum/Marhaban (greetings), Alhamdulillah (expression of gratitude), Afwan (apology), Syukran (thank you), and Al-Ma’ (water). The use of these expressions illustrates the practical application of applied Arabic linguistics in everyday communication while simultaneously reflecting religious, social, and cultural values internalized through language. Accordingly, context-based Arabic language learning is essential to enhance students’ communicative competence in an effective and meaningful manner.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia continues to face significant challenges in achieving equitable access and improving quality, thereby requiring the strengthening of teacher competencies, the development of a relevant curriculum, and the provision of adequate learning facilities. Through the implementation of the Independent Learning (Merdeka Belajar) Curriculum and the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila, P5), the government aims to promote a more flexible, contextual, and character-oriented learning approach that fosters 21st-century skills. At MTs Sains Karimiyya Kebasen, Banyumas Regency, the implementation of the engineering and technology theme within the P5 program aligns with the school’s vision as a science-based Islamic institution. The research-based community service activity focusing on renewable energy conversion serves as a practical step toward realizing this vision, while also fostering creativity, innovation, and environmental awareness among students. The renewable energy conversion outreach activity at MTs Sains Karimiyya Kebasen proved effective in enhancing students’ understanding of energy conversion principles through the application of solar power kits and simple electrical generators as learning aids. A comparison of pre-test and post-test results demonstrated a significant improvement across all assessed aspects, indicating that practice- and demonstration-based learning effectively increased student engagement, enthusiasm, and conceptual understanding. Evaluation results based on questionnaires further revealed highly positive responses toward the use of renewable energy conversion learning aids. The strong enthusiasm among participants also suggests that the use of such teaching tools effectively stimulates students’ curiosity and interest, making teaching-aid-based learning methods highly feasible for further development to improve the quality of science education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore local language revitalization strategies as a pathway to children's participation within the Child-Friendly Village framework from a non-formal education perspective. Using a qualitative approach with the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, this research involved 17 participants consisting of volunteers, community leaders, and parents, with data collection through focus group discussions, participatory mapping, and observation. The research results show that the local language revitalization strategy is implemented through participatory learning, the use of local languages in social spaces such as mosques and community activity centers, and children's activities based on outbound activities. As a result of this strategy, social identity is strengthened, communication accessibility is increased, and children's involvement in village decision-making is encouraged. However, challenges such as language shift, social stigma, and media limitations persist. In effect, this research confirms that integrating local language revitalization into non-formal education practices and village policies can be an important means of strengthening children's participation while maintaining the sustainability of local culture.

Abstract

The development of digital communication has encouraged companies to adapt in order to build public image and trust through more effective and valuable communication strategies. PT Inovasi Teknologi Solusindo (Trustmedis), which provides health technology based on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, uses a digital communication strategy in the form of copywriting to strengthen its brand image as one that is trustworthy, informative, and empathetic. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method by analyzing Trustmedis' digital content on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube platforms, as well as data on audience performance from Meta Business Suite. The analysis was conducted using the AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model to determine the extent to which persuasive messages are able to build emotional connections and encourage action from the audience. The results show that the application of copywriting principles successfully increased audience engagement through consistent, empathetic, and contextually appropriate messages. Empirical data showed a significant increase in interaction indicators (377.5%), link clicks (288%), reach (66.8%), and views (67.7%), demonstrating the success of Trustmedis' digital communication strategy. Theoretically, this research provides further insight into digital communication in the field of health technology, emphasizing that copywriting is not only a promotional tool but also a way to establish public value and trust in building a sustainable digital brand image.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a strategic agenda in Indonesian education to strengthen social cohesion in pluralistic societies. At the primary education level, studies on religious moderation remain fragmented and require integrative synthesis. This study examines how religious moderation education is implemented in Indonesian elementary schools and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (SD/MI) through a Systematic Literature Review retrieved from Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Elicit.ai. The analysis focuses on conceptualization, pedagogical implementation, and reported challenges and impacts. The findings indicate that religious moderation education at the SD/MI level is predominantly implemented through integrative and implicit practices rather than as a standalone curricular subject. Moderation values—such as justice, tolerance, inclusivity, and social harmony—are embedded across curricula, learning materials, pedagogical strategies, and school culture, with teachers functioning as key mediators of value internalization. While moderation-oriented education contributes to more inclusive school climates and positive student attitudes toward diversity, its implementation remains uneven due to limited teacher conceptual clarity, competing academic demands, and the growing influence of digital environments. This study contributes by articulating embedded moderation pedagogy as a conceptual framework for understanding religious moderation education in early schooling. The findings provide a concise reference for advancing research, policy development, and educational practice in religious and character education within pluralistic contexts.
