Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes in educational management, especially at the high school (SMA) level. The application of technology in school administration, learning systems, and communication between stakeholders is considered capable of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of education management. This research aims to examine the application of information technology in educational management in high schools in Indonesia through a literature review approach. Data sources were obtained from scientific journals, books and relevant research reports to evaluate the benefits, challenges and directions of development of information technology in educational management. The results of the study show that the implementation of information technology has helped schools increase data transparency, the effectiveness of online learning, and the efficiency of academic administration. However, several obstacles are still faced, such as limited technological infrastructure, lack of skills of teaching staff in using technology, and budget limitations in some schools. To optimize the application of information technology in education management, support is needed from the government, schools and stakeholders through the provision of adequate infrastructure, training for teaching staff, and regulations that support the digitalization of education. The implications of this research confirm that information technology has a strategic role in the transformation of educational management in high school. Therefore, further research is needed to explore more effective and sustainable technology implementation models, as well as evaluate the long-term impact of educational digitalization on the quality of learning and school management.

Abstract

In the 21st century, teacher education is required to look for new ways to improve the quality of mathematics teachers. However, the facts seen from the PISA test show that the achievement of Indonesian students is always low. Additionally, the OECD reports that only 1% of students in Indonesia are able to answer questions at a low level. The research aims to identify and find out what teacher educators face in preparing mathematics teachers with 4C skills and knowing solutions to 4C difficulties. The research method is a qualitative exploratory case study with a single case study design. The subjects were teachers at schools and prospective teachers at universities. Data collection techniques using documents and interviews. Ten prospective teachers from a university perspective and ten in-service teachers from a school perspective. The data analysis technique uses the constant comparative analysis method. The research results found five common challenges: lack of learning ability and motivation among prospective teachers, pedagogical challenges, lack of capacity and conceptual understanding of 4C skills among teacher educators, lack of supporting programs and facilities, and political challenges. Another finding is that teacher capacity is the two main concerns; universities must implement new, dynamic learning systems to equip mathematics teacher graduates with resources that teach 4C skills innovatively.

Abstract

Procrastination often occurs in students in higher education. Facts in higher education in 2021-2022 from 27 students were found, and 22.22% of students had not taken part in a proposal seminar and had not completed a final assignment or thesis, 40.74% of students had attended a proposal seminar but had not completed a final assignment or thesis, and 37.03% of students had have attended a proposal seminar and have completed a final assignment or thesis. This problem is urgent to research because there is a gap between theory, expectations and reality on the ground. This research aims to analyze the factors that cause procrastination in students when completing their theses in higher education. The research method is mixed methods. The subjects were 50 students. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, interviews and direct observation of students. Analysis technique by collecting data, reducing and drawing conclusions. Data is depicted in diagrams, and the results of interviews and observations are interpreted. The results and research findings show that students working on their thesis have many difficulties caused by internal factors, namely self-control, self-efficacy, and lack of motivation. In the process of completing a final assignment or thesis, students are required to learn to motivate themselves, control themselves, and develop high self-efficacy so that students can focus more on completing their thesis.

Abstract

Abstract

This comparative analysis reveals fundamental differences between data protection policies in Europe and the United States, which stem from different legal approaches. In Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides a strict and centralised framework for protecting individual privacy rights, with an emphasis on individual control over their personal data. In contrast, the United States takes a more fragmented approach, with regulations varying across sectors and states, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The US approach is more oriented towards trade and data security aspects than individual privacy rights. This difference reflects varying policy priorities, with Europe focusing more on privacy protection and the US emphasising economic and innovation aspects. Going forward, global challenges require cross-border cooperation and policy adaptation to balance the need for data protection, business and technological development.

Abstract

In the ever-evolving digital age, the protection of personal data is becoming increasingly crucial. This study reviews the existing literature on the role of data supervisors in the implementation of privacy policies in various organisations. Data supervisors play an important role in ensuring that the collection, storage and use of personal data comply with applicable privacy regulations. The results of the study show that although this role is essential, data supervisors face various challenges including rapid regulatory changes, technological advances, and the need to manage data efficiently. Technological literacy and continuous training are key to overcoming these challenges. In addition, collaboration between data supervisors and other internal stakeholders is needed to ensure that privacy policies are implemented effectively and are responsive to changes in the digital environment. Therefore, this study emphasises the importance of the strategic role of data supervisors in creating a data management system that complies with the law and is oriented towards individual privacy rights.
