Abstract

Reputation has the potential to influence a company's performance, the support it receives from the public, and the bank's ability to obtain the necessary funding. This research aims to evaluate the impact of benevolent funds and zakat funds on the reputation of Indonesian sharia banks (BSI) in the 2018-2022 period. The research uses quantitative methods with the aim of understanding the relationship between construction variables which include several variables and other variables, to predict variable X1 (benevolent funds), variable X2 (zakat funds), and variable Y (reputation) on BSI. The data used is document data, especially annual reports published by BSI every quarter on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in the 2018-2022 period and collected via the official BSI website. The research results show that, partially, the path coefficient for the use of benevolent funds (PDK) has a positive value of 0.18 with a p-value of 0.18. This means that the use of benevolent funds has a positive effect on reputation with a contribution of 18%. Meanwhile, the use of zakat funds (PDZ) on reputation has a positive path coefficient of 0.53 with a p-value of 0.1 which is smaller than 0.05. This shows a positive relationship between the use of zakat funds and reputation, with a contribution of 49%. In the indirect and total effects table, the use of zakat funds shows a positive and significant relationship to reputation with a contribution of 53%. Both the use of benevolent funds and zakat funds have a positive impact on reputation, with a p-value of 0.002 which is smaller than 0.05. In addition, the R-squared for the reputation variable is 0.487, indicating that the contribution of the PDK (X1) and PDZ (X2) variables to reputation (Y) is 48.7%, and the remaining 51.3% is influenced by other variables outside the model study.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a turning point for the global healthcare system, driving the rapid and extensive adoption of telemedicine technology. The study aims to evaluate the impact of telemedicine technology in responding to pandemics and its potential in healthcare reform. Through a systematic study of literature on articles, books and other documents, the study investigates the application of telemedicine in a variety of healthcare contexts, including chronic disease management, primary consultation, and triasis of COVID-19 patients. The results show that telemedics has successfully facilitated the continuity of health care in pandemic conditions, reduced the burden on health facilities, and minimized the risk of virus spread. The use of telemedicine also extends access to health care especially for patients in remote areas or with limited mobility. Furthermore, it was found that technological innovations and regulations that support telemedicine have accelerated its integration into the health system. Despite challenges, such as data security issues and limitations in physical inspections, innovative solutions and policy frameworks have been developed to overcome such obstacles. The study recommends increased investment in telemedicine technology and training for health professionals as a long-term strategy to improve the resilience of health systems.

Abstract

The study aims to examine how implementation of public policy can affect the well-being of the public. Through an in-depth analysis of the literature, the study identifies key factors that play a role in the success of public policies such as education, health, employment, housing, and social protection. With a focus on the developing-country context, the study seeks to provide new insights into how public policies can be effectively implemented to improve public well-being. From the analysis of the literature, the study found that the success of public policy implementation in improving the well-being of communities depends mainly on several key factors: (1) inclusive and evidence-based policy design; (2) availability of adequate resources; (3) good inter-agency coordination and collaboration; (4) policy adaptation to local contexts; and (5) active participation of the community. Furthermore, the main challenges emerging relate to resource constraints, resistance from stakeholders, and changing political-economic conditions. The study proposes several strategies to improve policy implementation effectiveness, including enhancing institutional capacity, using participatory approaches in policy formulation and implementation, and increasing transparency and accountability in decision-making processes. This research reaffirms the importance of a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach in designing and implementing effective public policies to enhance public well-being.

Abstract

The general rise in prices of goods and services that occurs in a country is called inflation, an economic phenomenon. Its impact on economic growth can vary depending on its level and stability. Controlled inflation is often considered a sign of economic health as increased demand for goods and services drives economic activity, investment and increased wealth. Conversely, runaway inflation or hyperinflation can undermine confidence in the domestic currency, reduce consumer purchasing power and weaken economic growth. In addition, inflation also has a major effect on investment and savings. High inflation lowers the real value of savings, makes saving less attractive, and encourages short-term consumption. This can reduce resources for long-term investment needed for sustainable growth. Uncertainty due to uncontrolled inflation can discourage companies from making new investments or expanding business, leading to economic stagnation. Therefore, maintaining a stable and predictable inflation rate is a key challenge for economic policies supporting long-term growth.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the effect of an evidence-based character education intervention on students' positive behaviour. The research method used was a literature review. The results showed that the character education intervention designed and implemented based on empirical evidence had a significant and positive impact on students' behaviour. Specifically, findings indicated improvements in empathy, co-operation, social awareness and emotion management skills. Students who experienced evidence-based character education tended to show a decrease in negative behaviours such as aggression, bullying, and discipline infractions. Determinants of the effectiveness of such interventions include the quality and adherence of implementation, adaptation of content to the local context, and active involvement of teachers and teaching staff. The findings confirm the importance of adopting and implementing evidence-based character education programmes in school settings to promote the development of positive behaviours among students.

Abstract

Village economic development in Indonesia is hampered by the lack of adequate infrastructure and human resources (HR). Improving both is considered essential to facilitate sustainable economic growth at the village level. This research utilises an in-depth literature research method, where data and information are collected from various academic sources, including journals, articles and research reports related to village economic development. The main findings of this study show that infrastructure improvements such as access to proper roads, stable electrification, and internet connection trigger village economic growth by improving the distribution of goods, expanding markets, and increasing efficiency. Meanwhile, empowering human capital through non-formal education and specialised skills training increases productivity and innovation. These investments also show co-benefits, such as improved access to health and education services, as well as strengthening the rural tourism sector. Infrastructure and human capital limitations must be addressed simultaneously to trigger inclusive and sustainable rural economic development. This research confirms that strategic measures, including appropriate investment and empowerment programmes, are important in placing villages on an adequate growth trajectory and harnessing existing local potential into a tangible economic force.
