Background: Patients after undergoing arthroplasty surgery will experience several changes in carrying out functional activities and daily routines. This is due to altered joint and muscle function due to decreased strength and limited range of motion after arthroplasty surgery. Post-hip arthroplasty conditions require comprehensive treatment so as not to cause impairment/disability that will interfere with function and gait. How effective is the early postoperative exercise program in preventing further decline in ability and speeding recovery? Methods: This exercise program is given since the patient has finished surgery and is gradually progressing to standing and walking exercises. This research was conducted on patients in the inpatient room of RS Ortopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. Assessment and evaluation of post-hip arthroplasty results using the Harris Hip Score functional index before and after being given an exercise program. Results: The statistical test showed that the data was not normally distributed (p<0.05) and the results of the influence test using the Wilcoxon Test showed that there was an effect of early postoperative exercise on reducing pain (p=0.005) and increasing the Harris Hip Score (HHS) index. The result of the action is that there is an increase in functional ability in post-hip arthroplasty patients. Conclusion: Based on this study, it can be concluded that the program of giving exercise therapy as early as possible in post-hip arthroplasty patients can accelerate recovery and improve functional ability.

In children aged 9-12, reduced bone density, length of schooling, duration of daily bag use and bag weight exceeding the recommended weight of 10-15% of body weight can affect changes in the vertebral curve either into kyphosis, lordosis or scoliosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between bag load and changes in the vertebral curve as measured by the plumb line and scoliometer. The load of the bag is seen from 2 things, namely the weight of the bag and the duration of use of the bag. The research method used a cross sectional study with a sample of 207 school children aged 9-12 years using 2 analytical tests. The results of the Kendall's tau-b analysis test showed p-value = 0.773 and 0.262 (>0.005) which showed that there was no relationship between the weight and duration of bag use and changes in the vertebral curve. The results of the Spearman Rho test analysis showed p-value = 0.448 and 0.407 (> 0.005) which showed no relationship between weight and duration of bag use with the degree of change in the vertebral curve (Angle of Trunk Rotation/ATR).

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is a condition characterized by pain in in the lower back region. The pain felt is not a disease or a diagnosis of for a disease, it is the condition of pain syndromes in anatomical areas that experience various time variations in the occurrence of pain. Purpose: To analyze the effects of PNF and trunk exercise on pain reduction in individuals with LBP. Method: search in Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library databases to find and analyze related studies in the form of randomized controlled trials. Analyze related studies in the form of randomized controlled trials (RCT) without meta-analysis systematic review. The keywords used were “PNF”, “trunk exercise” and “low back pain”. Result: The results of the analysis results in this study, showed a decrease in pain in patients who received PNF by 1.70 units compared to patients with low back pain patients who were given trunk exercise (SMD = 1.70; 95% CI = 0.40 to 2.99) and the results were statistically significant (p <0.05). The result was statistically significant (p<0.00001). Heterogeneity of data the study showed I2= 95% (random effect model). Conclusion: PNF therapy is more effective than trunk exercise in reducing pain in patients with LBP.

Background Low Back Pain (LBP) is a musculoskeletal disorder characterized by discomfort in the lower back region, sometimes accompanied by radiating pain to the lower extremities. LBP is common in individuals aged over 35 years due to degenerative changes such as tissue damage and decreased intervertebral fluid, which reduce spinal and muscular stability. In elderly populations (>60 years), reduced muscle strength exacerbates LBP symptoms, significantly impairing daily function. Kinesiotaping is a physiotherapy technique used to improve musculoskeletal function and support natural healing, including in cases of LBP. Objective This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of kinesiotaping in reducing LBP symptoms among elderly individuals. Methods A quantitative descriptive approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The study was conducted at Car Free Day (CFD) Colomadu, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, in July 2024. A total of 40 elderly participants were recruited. Data were collected using the Keele Start Back Screening Tool questionnaire. Results Among the 40 elderly participants (62.5% female), most experienced LBP classified as minimal disability (50.0%). Post-intervention assessments showed improvements in pain scores, suggesting a positive effect of kinesiotaping on LBP symptoms. Conclusion Kinesiotaping appears to be an effective intervention for reducing low back pain in elderly individuals, particularly in those with minimal functional disability.

Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a highly prevalent musculoskeletal disorder, especially Chronic Low Back Pain (CLBP) that lasts for more than three months. The prevalence of low back pain among workers at PPMI Assalaam is very high and affects their functional abilities and work productivity. Risk factors for CLBP include age, body mass index, duration of sitting, and static and repetitive workloads. Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effect of modified back exercises based on a combination of the McKenzie method and core stability exercises in the form of rhythmic gymnastics with music on reducing pain intensity and improving functional ability in employees with CLBP. Method: This study used a pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design with a sample of 50 employees. The experimental group performed back exercises three times a week for one month, while the control group only received education through posters. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and functional ability using the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Modified back exercises effectively reduce CLBP pain, improve function, and enhance employees' quality of life. These exercises are easy to implement and encourage consistency in preventing work-related back pain.
