Abstract

This study aims to analyze human resource planning and recruitment at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Ta'allumussibyan in the context of Islamic education. Professional and spiritually integrated human resources are key to the success of Islamic educational institutions. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data was collected from 13 teachers using a questionnaire consisting of 30 statements related to two main sub-variables: HR planning and recruitment. The results of the analysis show that the HR planning aspect received an average score of 4.29, while recruitment received a higher score of 4.53. This reflects that MI Ta'allumussibyan has implemented a fairly effective HR management system that is in line with Islamic values. The findings indicate that planning has been aligned with the madrasah's vision and mission and the actual needs of educators, although formal documentation and long-term planning still need to be improved. On the other hand, the recruitment process shows high professionalism, with assessments of the ability to read the Qur'an, understanding of Islamic values, and the involvement of religious leaders in the selection process. However, there are still weaknesses in the transparency of the selection assessment system and the potential for nepotism. This study recommends improvements in policy documentation and broader stakeholder involvement in the planning and recruitment processes. By strengthening data-driven strategies and spiritual values, the madrasah can enhance the quality of Islamic education sustainably. The findings of this study are also relevant as a reference for other madrasahs with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Over the past decade, smartphone use among schoolchildren has increased rapidly and has become a daily activity for students. Without a smartphone for even a day, students seem to become disoriented. These devices are no longer simply used for communication; they have also become a source of entertainment, games, and access to a vast and limitless amount of information. This high level of smartphone use has also led to a decline in students' interest in learning. This study attempts to examine changes in learning motivation through a literature review, reviewing various research findings from both within and outside the country. The findings indicate that excessive smartphone use has a more negative impact on students' intrinsic motivation, concentration levels, and self-discipline. However, smartphones also have a positive side when used appropriately in a learning context, for example through e-learning or educational applications that support learning activities. Overall, this study emphasizes the need for better monitoring of smartphone use and strengthening digital literacy, so that these devices can be used to support the learning process and not hinder it.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has brought significant changes to learning processes, including Informatics education, which requires more authentic, adaptive, and competency-based assessment aligned with 21st-century skills. In the digital era, technology-based assessment has become increasingly essential for measuring students’ computational thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving abilities more comprehensively. However, its effectiveness in Informatics learning has not yet been fully optimized due to limitations in teachers’ digital competence, infrastructure readiness, and unequal utilization of digital platforms across educational institutions. This study employs a library research method by reviewing recent journal articles, conference proceedings, scholarly books, and educational regulations published within the last five years that are relevant to Informatics learning evaluation and digital assessment implementation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of technology-based assessment in improving the quality of Informatics learning evaluation and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation in the digital era. The findings indicate that technology-based assessment improves the accuracy of evaluation, provides immediate feedback, supports differentiated learning, and facilitates the assessment of both process and products simultaneously. Additionally, digital platforms enable teachers to monitor students’ learning progress in real time. However, its effectiveness is still influenced by teachers’ technological literacy, network stability, and the availability of devices in schools. In conclusion, technology-based assessment has strong potential to enhance the quality of Informatics learning evaluation, yet it must be supported by improved teacher competencies, strengthened digital infrastructure, and policies that encourage continuous assessment innovation.

Abstract

The rapid globalization and digital transformation of healthcare require pharmacists to master professional communication and digital literacy alongside pharmacological expertise. Therefore, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), particularly English for Pharmacy (EfP), must integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to reflect authentic professional practices. This study aims to systematically examine how ICT is applied, perceived, and evaluated in EfP instruction within pharmacy education. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analyzed 22 peer-reviewed articles published between 2014 and 2024, retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC, using keywords related to ICT, ESP, English for Pharmacy, and pharmacy education. Articles were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed thematically. The review reveals three key findings. First, ICT integration in EfP has evolved from basic digital content delivery to student-centered models such as the Flipped Classroom, which consistently enhances learning outcomes and student satisfaction. Second, Mobile Learning is the most widely adopted technology, particularly effective in improving vocabulary mastery and professional communication skills. Third, successful ICT adoption is strongly influenced by UTAUT factors and supported by blended learning approaches, while major challenges include limited infrastructure, insufficient faculty training, and constraints on personalized feedback. This study contributes to ESP and pharmacy education by providing an evidence-based framework for strategic ICT integration in EfP, offering pedagogical guidance for educators and directions for future research, including the potential use of Artificial Intelligence in professional language instruction.

Abstract

The Big Data era, characterized by the massive Volume, Velocity, and Variety of information, has revolutionized decision-making processes across various sectors. However, this paradigm shift has created significant methodological gaps, particularly related to population bias and the absence of standardized frameworks for validating non-probabilistic data representations. This study aims to bridge these gaps through a Systematic Literature Review, employing academic documentation and theoretical triangulation to synthesize both the challenges and solutions in the data acquisition phase. The findings identify three dominant data collection methods Web Scraping, Application Programming Interface, and the Internet of Things (IoT) as direct responses to the 3V characteristics of Big Data. Crucial insights reveal a persistent tension between the massive data volume and its validity, further complicated by technical risks (such as application programming interface rate limiting) and legal or ethical concerns (including compliance with Terms of Service and data privacy regulations). Research implementation in this era must therefore adopt a strategic framework, emphasizing essential practices such as personal identifiable information de-identification to ensure privacy rights and the application of Exponential Backoff techniques to overcome application programming interface quota limitations. This review presents a comprehensive synthesis of the pre-analysis phase of Big Data research, underscoring that the integrity and reliability of scientific findings in this era depend heavily on the adoption of rigorous methodological and ethical frameworks.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate various high-level data analysis techniques in quantitative and qualitative approaches to produce a comprehensive understanding of educational phenomena. A mixed methods approach is used to systematically combine the strengths of numerical and interpretive analysis. In the quantitative stage, data were analyzed using advanced statistical techniques such as regression analysis, multiple regression, principal component analysis (PCA), discriminant analysis, canonical analysis, path analysis, factor analysis, ANAVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, and MANCOVA to test the significant relationships, differences, and effects between variables. Meanwhile, the qualitative stage uses taxonomy/domain analysis, constant comparative analysis, and symbolic analysis to explore the deeper meaning of field data inductively and contextually. The use of the NVivo application supports the qualitative analysis process through thematic coding, visualization of conceptual relationships, and evidence-based data validation. The integration of these two approaches strengthens the internal and external validity of the research, increases the reliability of the results, and broadens theoretical and practical understanding in the context of modern education. The results of this study indicate that the application of a combination of high-level data analysis methods and qualitative analysis technology support is capable of producing richer, more accurate, and more relevant interpretations for the development of data- and meaning-based educational science.

Abstract

The implementation of educational technology often remains at the level of substituting conventional media, rather than reflecting a deeper understanding of adaptive technology and its potential to transform learning processes. This qualitative descriptive study employed an exploratory approach to investigate English teachers’ experiences and perceptions regarding the integration of SAMR-based adaptive technology in integrated reading–writing instruction at the primary level. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving primary school English teachers and were analyzed using the interactive model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings reveal that technology integration predominantly occurs at the Substitution (S) and Augmentation (A) levels of the SAMR framework, with limited evidence of modification or redefinition in instructional practices. This indicates that the transformative potential of SAMR-based adaptive technology has not yet been optimally realized in integrated primary literacy instruction. Strengthening teachers’ digital pedagogical competencies and reconceptualizing technology integration as a means of restructuring learning processes are therefore essential to support more meaningful, contextually relevant literacy learning aligned with 21st-century educational demands.

Abstract

This article discusses research paradigms and epistemology in the context of scientific development, particularly from the perspective of Islamic scholarship. Knowledge evolves through various paradigms that shape researchers’ views of reality, research objects, methods, and purposes. The three main paradigms commonly used are positivistic, interpretive, and critical. In addition, within the Islamic intellectual tradition, the concept of the Islamization of knowledge emerges as an effort to integrate revelation, reason, and empirical reality. The method used in this study is library research with a descriptive-critical analysis approach. The findings indicate that each paradigm possesses distinct characteristics, orientations, and objectives, yet they complement one another. The paradigm of the Islamization of knowledge serves as an integrative framework that offers ethical, spiritual, and beneficial dimensions to contemporary scientific research.
