Abstract

The current pressing issue in the downstream processing of cocoa beans in cocoa production is a strict quality control system. However, visually inspecting raw cocoa beans reveals the need for advanced technological solutions, especially in Industry 4.0. This paper introduces an innovative image-processing approach to extracting color and texture features to identify cocoa bean quality. Image acquisition involved capturing video with a data acquisition box device connected to a conveyor, resulting in image samples of Good-quality and Poor-quality of non-cutting cocoa beans dataset. Our methodology includes multifaceted advanced pre-processing, sharpening techniques, and comparative analysis of feature extraction methodologies using Hue-Saturation-Value (HSV) and Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix (GLCM) with correlated features. This study used 15 features with the highest correlation. Machine Learning models using Support Vector Machine (SVM) with some parameter variation value alongside an RBF kernel. Some parameters were measured to compare each approach, and the results show that pre-processing without sharpening achieves better accuracy, notably with the HSV and GLCM combination reaching 0.99 accuracy. Adequate technical lighting during data acquisition is crucial for accuracy. This study sheds light on the efficacy of image processing in cocoa bean quality identification, addressing a critical gap in industrial-scale implementation of technological solutions and advancing quality control measures in the cocoa industry.

Abstract

Based on the psychographic theory of Glock and Stark, this study tries to provide more information about the terrorist's religiosity in the context of a suicide bombing in East Java, Indonesia. To understand the theological state of terrorists who commit suicide bombings in the name of jihad, this research takes a psychological approach. Through later suicide bombings, which frequently occur, this research uses qualitative techniques to paint a picture of the dimensions of religiosity that terrorists possess. The Surabaya suicide bombings in East Java are used as a case study in this paper. The researcher uses psychographic theories of religion, which encompass ideological, ritualistic, intellectualistic, experiential, and consequential elements, to evaluate the religious dimensions of terrorists. This study demonstrates that a terrorist's religiosity can be characterised as having only conceptual, ceremonial, and intellectualistic aspects; the experiential and consequential aspects are not evident in the terrorist's attitude or personality.

Abstract

The chronic disease of scientific dichotomy seems to still infect some activists of Islamic religious education. This results in scientific discrimination in the form of extreme separation between "afterlife knowledge" and "worldly knowledge". The infection of this disease has the potential to be more severe if not treated immediately, considering the progress of the era that does not hesitate to crush anyone who cannot compromise with the digital era. The cure for this virus is found in the idea of integrative Islamic religious education initiated by Muslim scholars. Gus Dur is one of the intellectual figures who is loud in speaking about integrative Islamic religious education with a neo-modernist orientation. This study discusses integrative Islamic religious education from Gus Dur's perspective using a literature study method where this research is based on various literature spread across various platforms. The results of this study Gus Dur has a vision of Islamic religious education implemented in formal and non-formal institutions must be structured philosophically in terms of curriculum and learning materials by including three aspects of science; the classical Islamic scientific side, the traditional Indonesian scientific side and the modern scientific side. According to Gus Dur, all three must collaborate in harmony in order to produce the next generation who have competence in the field of Islamic and modern knowledge, appreciate local culture and can be wise in adapting to the progress of the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of trade wars on global supply chains and economic growth, focusing on the economic and business disruptions caused by escalating tariffs and protectionist policies. Using quantitative data from official sources such as the World Bank, IMF, and WTO, the study examines key metrics including trade volumes, GDP growth, tariff rates, and supply chain performance between 2016 and 2020. Methods such as descriptive statistics, difference-in-differences analysis, regression analysis, time series analysis, were employed to assess the impacts of the trade wars, particularly between major economies such as the United States and China. The results show a significant decline in trade volumes and GDP growth during the peak years of the trade wars, with both countries experiencing severe supply chain disruptions, evidenced by increased lead times and rising production costs. The findings underscore the negative economic consequences of protectionist measures, which extend beyond the countries directly involved, affecting global trade relations and supply chain resilience. The study concludes by highlighting the need for policymakers and businesses to address trade tensions through international cooperation, enhanced supply chain strategies, and sustainable economic development policies.
