Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Sectio caesarea (SC) is a surgical process to deliver a fetus through incisions made in the abdominal wall and uterus so that the fetus can be born healthy and intact. Caesarean section has life-threatening risks, one of which is the risk of infection. The quality of wound care must not decline after the patient is discharged, follow-up care at home will be very important. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of discharge planning regarding wound care for wound healing in Sectio caesarea patients. This research was conducted at the BLUD of RSU Cut Nyakdhien Meulaboh. This type of research uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design through a one group pre-test post-test design approach. The research population was 35 people. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire filled out by respondents and observation sheets. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate. Bivariate analysis using paired t-test (Paired T-Test). The results showed that the majority of wound healing before discharge planning was carried out was good. Wound healing after the majority of discharge planning was carried out very well. The significance value of p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05) then H0 is accepted. This means that there is effectiveness of discharge planning regarding wound care for wound healing in Sectio caesarea patients. It is suggested that this study can provide additional references for future research to discuss more broadly the factors that accelerate wound healing in Sectio caesarea patients.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the body's inability to produce insulin according to the body's needs or due to ineffective use of insulin or both. When asked about their understanding of treating gangrene wounds independently, they said they did not fully understand how to treat gangrene wounds. The study aims to determine the correlation between patients' knowledge about diabetic wound care and interest in visiting the surgical clinic at Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital. This type of research used a cross-sectional, with a total sample of 38 respondents. The results showed that most respondents' knowledge was in the good category, namely 22 respondents (57.9%), and the least was in the less good category, 16 respondents (42.1%). The interest in visiting the majority of respondents was in the high class, namely 27 respondents (71.1%), and the least was in the low category, 11 respondents (28.9%). The correlation between the two variables, namely between the respondent's knowledge and interest in visiting the patient, is related to the results of the bivariate test using the Chi-square test, which is 0.00. It can increase their knowledge about diabetic wound care so that they can increase awareness for treating diabetic wounds and regularly re-control the hospital so that the healing process can run well and not cause complications that end in amputation.

Abstract

Ankle ROM training involves two movements: dorsiflexion and plantarflexion, which enhances calf muscle strength and pumping, facilitating venous return and reducing oxygen and nutrient diffusion, thus promoting overall health. This study provides active lower ROM intervention to diabetes mellitus patients twice a day for 6 consecutive days simultaneously. This type of research uses quasi-experimental research using two groups pretest-posttest, namely an experimental design where there are control and intervention groups. The samples in this study were 35, of which 17 samples were for the intervention group and 18 samples were for the control group. The research found that ankle ROM exercises significantly improved the DNE score and ABI value in both the intervention and control groups, with a statistical test result of p = 0.000 in the DNE score. It can be believed that there is a significant difference between the DNE scores of the intervention group, and the control group after doing ankle ROM exercises (p = 0.000), then H0 was rejected or there was an effect of ROM exercises on reducing the risk of neuropathy. Meanwhile, the ABI value showed a statistical test result of p = 0.002 and it can be believed that there is a significant difference between the ABI values of the intervention group and the control group after ankle ROM exercises (p = 0.002), so H0 is rejected or there is an effect of ROM exercises on reducing the risk of Angiopathy.

Abstract

COVID-19 has posed significant global health threats, with responses varying across populations due to differences in risk perception, behaviour, and biological vulnerability. In Indonesia, most research has focused on urban settings, with limited attention paid to rural or remote communities. This study assesses COVID-19- risks related—specifically behavioural and immunity-related-factors—in the remote area of both Bontoramba Subdistrict, Jeneponto Regency. A cross-sectional study was conducted using cluster random sampling across eight villages, with 183 participants selected from a total of 12,242 households. Data were collected between November to December 2020 using a validated structured questionnaire, administered both online and face-to-face interviews. The instrument assessed sociodemographic characteristics, in-home and out-of-home risk behaviours, and indicators of body resistance. Statistical analysis was performed using Chi-square tests to examine associations between demographic factors and risk-related behaviours. The majority of respondents were aged 30–39 years (62.3%) and employed in the private sector (62.8%). Key findings revealed high levels of moderate risk behaviour, particularly related to outdoor activity (80.9%) and public transport use (92.9%). Significant associations were found between gender, age, education, and occupation with various risk behaviours and body resistance indicators (p<0.05). Females generally practiced better in-home preventive behaviours, while males were more likely to engage in out-of-home risk behaviours. Younger individuals exhibited higher mobility and lower body resistance, while older respondents showed greater compliance with protective behaviours. Education and occupation also influenced risk patterns negatively. This study highlights the importance of considering sociodemographic contexts when designing public health interventions. Remote populations such as those in Bontoramba, face unique vulnerabilities due to behavioural exposure and limited physiological resilience. These findings underscore the need for targeted, context-specific health promotion strategies in similar rural settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the decline of three major Islamic empires in the 18th century—the Ottoman Sultanate, the Safavid Dynasty, and the Mughal Dynasty—which had previously attained prominence in political, military, and cultural spheres. The research aims to analyze the internal and external factors that led to the political fragmentation of these empires. Adopting a qualitative approach with a historical-comparative method, the study relies on literature-based data, which were analyzed through five stages: heuristics, verification, interpretation, comparison, and historiography. The findings indicate that the decline of these empires resulted from an interplay between internal weaknesses, including leadership crises, succession conflicts, and the decentralization of power, and external pressures stemming from European colonial expansion and transformations in the global economic system. The study concludes that, despite political fragmentation, the cultural and religious legacies of these empires continue to shape the development of the Islamic world in contemporary contexts. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of the transition from cohesive imperial power to fragmented political entities and elucidates broader changes in global dynamics during this period.
