Abstract

The preservation of ethnobotany knowledge in South Kalimantan faces modernization challenges, such as decreasing interest among younger generations and the limited integration of local wisdom into educational practices. Popular Scientific Books (BIP) serve as an educational solution to bridge traditional knowledge with the general public. However, not all ethnobotanical BIPs that have been developed have undergone comprehensive feasibility testing. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of ethnobotany BIPs based on local wisdom through a literature review. Article searches were conducted using Google Scholar, resulting in 605 documents. After selection based on language, open access availability, and subject relevance, 10 articles were identified and analyzed using the Systematic Literature Review method and content analysis techniques. The results indicate a growing trend in BIP development, with most studies reporting very high validity and practicality. A common pattern observed is the limited testing of BIP effectiveness. This study concludes that BIP is feasible for further development but should be complemented with evaluations of its impact on learning to optimize its role in education and the preservation of local wisdom. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing contextual biology teaching materials based on local knowledge.Abstrak. Pelestarian pengetahuan etnobotani di Kalimantan Selatan menghadapi tantangan modernisasi berupa berkurangnya minat generasi muda dan minimnya integrasi kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran. Buku Ilmiah Populer (BIP) menjadi solusi edukatif untuk menjembatani pengetahuan tradisional dan masyarakat umum. Namun, belum semua BIP etnobotani yang dikembangkan diuji kelayakan secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan BIP etnobotani berbasis kearifan lokal melalui studi pustaka. Penelusuran artikel dilakukan menggunakan Google Scholar dan menghasilkan 605 dokumen. Setelah seleksi berdasarkan kriteria bahasa, akses terbuka, dan relevansi bidang, diperoleh 10 artikel yang dianalisis menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review dan teknik content analysis. Hasil menunjukkan tren meningkatnya pengembangan BIP, dengan temuan bahwa sebagian besar telah diuji validitas dan kepraktisannya secara sangat baik. Pola umum yang ditemukan adalah masih terbatasnya uji efektivitas. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa BIP layak dikembangkan, namun perlu dilengkapi evaluasi dampak pembelajaran agar lebih optimal dalam pendidikan dan pelestarian kearifan lokal. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan bahan ajar biologi kontekstual yang didasarkan pada pengetahuan lokal.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of reading habits at home and the availability of reading materials on the reading literacy ability of sixth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 1 Kulo. Employing a quantitative explanatory research design, the study utilized saturated sampling involving the entire population of 23 sixth-grade students. Data were collected using questionnaires to measure reading habits at home and the availability of reading materials, along with a standardized reading literacy test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results revealed that: (1) reading habits at home had a positive and significant effect on reading literacy ability (t = 3.12, p = 0.005 < 0.05); (2) the availability of reading materials also exerted a positive and significant effect (t = 2.45, p = 0.021 < 0.05); and (3) both variables simultaneously had a significant influence (F = 18.76, p = 0.000 < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.652) indicated that 65.2% of the variance in students’ reading literacy ability could be explained by the two variables, while the remaining 34.8% was influenced by other factors. The findings underscore the critical role of home-based reading practices and resource availability in enhancing elementary students’ reading literacy. Collaboration among parents, teachers, and schools is essential to create a literacy-rich home environment that optimally supports students’ reading development.

Abstract

This study developed and evaluated the effectiveness of a Google Sites-based School Literacy Movement (GLS) program to improve reading comprehension skills among fifth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri 1 Rijang Panua, Indonesia. The research was driven by the moderate literacy achievement of 55.33% reported in the 2024 Education Report, stemming from suboptimal GLS implementation that emphasized routine reading without structured comprehension assessment and relied on conventional, less engaging media. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), the study produced “SIBACA SITES” (Smart Reading System Based on Google Sites), an interactive web-based platform integrating contextual reading texts, multimedia resources, comprehension exercises, and interactive features. Expert validation by material, media, instructional design, and language specialists yielded very high feasibility scores (89%, 91%, 92%, and 91%, respectively), placing the product in the “very feasible” category. Limited trials (n=10) resulted in an average N-gain score of 0.60 (moderate effectiveness), while extensive trials (n=25) demonstrated more substantial gains: 16 students in the moderate category and 9 in the high category, with no students in the low category. Questionnaire responses from students and teachers indicated highly positive perceptions regarding attractiveness, usability, and learning benefits. The findings confirm that the Google Sites-based GLS program is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing reading comprehension. Theoretically, it strengthens digital literacy, multimodal literacy, and constructivist learning principles. Practically, it offers an innovative, technology-integrated model for implementing the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools, supporting 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) merupakan salah satu proses penting dalam institusi pendidikan yang memerlukan sistem pelayanan informasi yang efektif dan efisien. Namun, pada praktiknya, layanan PPDB di SMKN 3 masih menghadapi kendala, seperti keterbatasan waktu pelayanan, tingginya beban kerja panitia, serta kurang optimalnya penyampaian informasi kepada calon peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan customer service. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan sistem informasi PPDB otomatis berbasis WhatsApp Bot sebagai layanan Customer Service 24 jam di SMKN 3. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan aplikatif. Kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi, demonstrasi sistem, praktik langsung, serta kuis interaktif yang disertai pemberian reward untuk meningkatkan partisipasi peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menggunakan sistem, serta respon positif terhadap penerapan WhatsApp Bot sebagai media layanan informasi. Sistem ini dinilai mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pelayanan, mempercepat respon, dan mengurangi beban kerja panitia PPDB. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam mendukung transformasi digital layanan pendidikan.

Abstract

Majelis Taklim Muslimah Kaffah in Percut Sei Tuan District is a non-formal educational institution that plays an important role in enhancing religious understanding and spirituality among women. The success of Majelis Taklim activities is closely related to the availability of adequate facilities and infrastructure that support the learning process. This study aims to identify and analyze the supporting facilities and infrastructure of Majelis Taklim Muslimah Kaffah and their impact on the effectiveness of religious activities. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation and in-depth interviews with the management and founders of the Majelis Taklim. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that facilities such as meeting spaces, learning media, and internet access, as well as infrastructure including road access, parking areas, and sanitation facilities, play a significant role in enhancing participants’ comfort, participation, and learning quality. However, the study also identified several challenges, including limited funding, inadequate facility maintenance, and limited human resources in managing facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, systematic and sustainable management of facilities and infrastructure is necessary to optimize the activities of Majelis Taklim Muslimah Kaffah.

Abstract

Kompetensi pedagogik merupakan kompetensi utama yang harus dimiliki calon guru untuk menjamin kualitas proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan (PLP) berperan sebagai wahana pembelajaran kontekstual yang memungkinkan mahasiswa calon guru memperoleh pengalaman nyata dalam praktik pembelajaran. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan peran PLP dalam penguatan kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa calon guru, dengan fokus pada pengelolaan kelas, perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, adaptasi terhadap budaya sekolah, serta peran guru pamong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data berupa laporan PLP, lembar kegiatan harian mahasiswa, dan instrumen penilaian guru pamong. Data dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan PLP berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa, yang tercermin dalam kemampuan mengelola kelas secara lebih terstruktur, menyusun dan melaksanakan pembelajaran sesuai karakteristik peserta didik, serta melakukan refleksi terhadap pengalaman mengajar. Mahasiswa juga mampu beradaptasi dengan budaya sekolah, sementara guru pamong berperan penting dalam memberikan bimbingan dan umpan balik pedagogik. Dengan demikian, PLP terbukti efektif sebagai sarana penguatan kompetensi pedagogik mahasiswa calon guru dan perlu terus diperkuat dalam implementasinya di LPTK.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of storytelling and learning concentration on the narrative text listening ability of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Kulo. Specifically, it analyzes (1) the partial effect of audio storytelling, (2) the partial effect of learning concentration, and (3) the simultaneous effect of both variables on students’ narrative text listening skills. Employing a quantitative ex post facto design with a correlational approach, the study involved the entire population of 34 fourth-grade students as the sample through saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires, classroom observation, and a narrative listening test, and analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality testing (Kolmogorov-Smirnov), multiple linear regression, t-test, and F-test. Descriptive results indicated that audio storytelling (M = 35.6), learning concentration (M = 40.2), and narrative listening ability (M = 75.6) all fell into the “good” category. Normality tests confirmed that all variables were normally distributed (p > 0.05). The partial t-test revealed significant positive effects for both audio storytelling (t = 3.52, p = 0.001) and learning concentration (t = 3.38, p = 0.002). The simultaneous F-test further confirmed a significant joint influence (F = 24.381, p = 0.000). The findings demonstrate that audio storytelling and learning concentration exert positive and significant partial and simultaneous effects on fourth-grade students’ narrative text listening ability. These results offer practical implications for elementary language teachers seeking innovative, media-supported strategies to enhance listening comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a deep learning-based instructional model for teaching short story listening skills to be utilized by teachers in classroom learning. The type of research employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The product developed is a Deep Learning Lesson Plan (Rencana Pembelajaran Mendalam/RPM) for a short story listening instructional model, which was systematically designed and validated by experts. The validation results indicate a high level of feasibility: content experts scored 96%, language experts 81%, and instructional experts 88%, all categorized as “highly feasible.” A limited trial involving 10 students resulted in an average gain score of 0.40, which, according to Hake, falls into the moderate effectiveness category. A wider trial involving 25 students showed that 6 students were in the low category (g ≤ 0.30), 19 in the moderate category (0.39 < g ≤ 0.70), and none in the high category (g > 0.70). This indicates that the majority of participants experienced significant improvement after the implementation of the instructional model. The results of teacher and student response questionnaires also indicate a high level of effectiveness, with both obtaining an average score of 4.65, categorized as “very good.” In conclusion, the developed deep learning-based instructional model for teaching short story listening skills is effective, valid, and engaging in improving students’ listening skills in an active, critical, and reflective manner, and contributes to the development of innovative and contextual Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The sources of religious education are the Qur'an and the Hadith. The Qur'an holds the primary position for drawing upon other educational references. The Qur'an's universality encompasses all existing knowledge. The purpose of this study is to determine the efforts of Al-Qur`an Hadith teachers, supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur`an of students. This type of research is qualitative research, while the data collection techniques include: interviews, observation and documentation, then researchers analyze to obtain the results of the study. The results of the research and analysis concluded that the supporting factors of Al-Qur`an Hadith teachers in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur`an are, the existence of extracurricular activities of tahfidz qur'an and adequate facilities and infrastructure. The factors that become obstacles are, there are still students who have not been able to read the Al-Qur`an, and the efforts of Al-Qur`an Hadith teachers in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur`an are, providing motivational injections, approaching, habituating Al-Qur`an tadarrus to students at each hour of Al-Qur`an Hadith lessons begin, and giving assignments/homework in the form of memorizing surahs related to the material discussed at each meeting.
