Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers’ ethics in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction at Raudhatul Athfal Gummi. The study employs a qualitative, descriptive approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include IRE teachers and the school principal, who were selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that AI is utilized as a learning support tool, particularly in developing instructional materials, creating interactive media, and enhancing student engagement. However, the use of AI is not without ethical challenges, such as the potential for technological dependency and a reduction in humanistic interaction. Therefore, teachers serve as ethical gatekeepers tasked with filtering content, aligning materials with Islamic values, and maintaining a balance between technology and direct interaction. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari‘ah, the use of AI reflects the principle of public interest through the protection of religion, reason, and future generations. This study emphasizes that the integration of AI into Islamic Education must be under the ethical control of teachers to ensure it continues to support the development of students’ character and spiritual values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the collaboration between Islamic Education teachers and Guidance and Counseling teachers in shaping students’ social character at SMP 3 Pemulutan. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with research subjects consisting of Islamic Education teachers, Guidance and Counseling teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used an interactive model including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation. The results indicate that the collaboration is implemented through joint planning of character-building programs, the integration of learning with counseling services, and habituation as well as extracurricular activities based on social and religious values. Islamic Education teachers play a role in instilling moral and spiritual values and providing role models, while Guidance and Counseling teachers provide psychological support and develop students’ social skills. This collaboration effectively shapes students’ social character, reflected in honesty, responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and social awareness, although obstacles such as limited coordination time, differences in perspectives, and limited institutional support remain, thus requiring stronger synergy through communication, shared understanding, and school policy support to ensure optimal and sustainable collaboration.

Abstract

This study examines the socialization strategy used in new student recruitment at MTs Negeri 1 Palembang and explores how the strategy can be interpreted through a SWOT framework. A qualitative descriptive design was employed to capture how recruitment-related socialization is planned, implemented, and evaluated in the institutional setting. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, the PPDB committee chair, teachers involved in promotion, parents, and prospective students. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while triangulation was used to enhance the trustworthiness of the findings. The results indicate that the madrasah implements socialization through a combination of digital and face-to-face channels, including social media, brochures, school visits, and direct communication with parents and feeder schools. Its key strengths include institutional reputation, qualified human resources, and adequate facilities, whereas its main weaknesses lie in the limited variety of promotional content and the suboptimal use of digital communication. Externally, the institution benefits from growing public interest in Islamic education and wider access to communication technology, but it also faces strong competition from other schools and changing parental expectations. The study concludes that SWOT analysis is useful not only for identifying strategic factors but also for formulating more adaptive, focused, and sustainable socialization strategies for student recruitment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the madrasah management strategies in overcoming the adaptation challenges of transfer students at MI Hijriyah 2 Palembang, to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of the adaptation process, and to explain the roles of madrasah leadership, teachers, and the school environment in accelerating the students' academic, social, and religious integration. School transfers cause psychological stress, differences in learning cultures, and academic ability gaps that require systematic managerial handling. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the madrasah principal, homeroom teachers, religious education teachers, and transfer students. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the adaptation management strategies for transfer students at MI Hijriyah 2 Palembang are implemented through orientation programs, differentiated learning, individual mentoring, peer support, religious habituation, and consistent institutional coordination. These strategies are able to create a sense of psychological security, increase academic participation, strengthen social integration, and foster the students' religious discipline. The main supporting factors include adaptive madrasah leadership, an inclusive school culture, humanistic teacher involvement, and a safe learning environment. Inhibiting factors encompass differences in students' initial abilities, emotional anxiety, limited teacher mentoring time, and adjustments to the school's religious culture. Overall, structured adaptation management has proven effective in facilitating the transformation of transfer students from a phase of alienation to active involvement in madrasah life

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in enhancing Qur’anic literacy in digital-age primary education. Despite widespread digital access, students’ Qur’anic reading proficiency remains limited, indicating a gap between technological availability and instructional practices. This research employs a qualitative case study design, involving a principal, teachers, and parents through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that HRM functions as a central mechanism linking digital resources and learning outcomes through planning, implementation, and evaluation. However, the absence of structured training, institutional policies, and digital assessment systems limits sustainability. The present research proposes an integrative HRM–digital learning framework, positioning HRM as a mediating system connecting teacher competence, digital infrastructure, and learning outcomes. The findings contribute theoretically to Islamic education management and offer practical implications for policy and school leadership.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of motivation, personality, and social environment on the religious awareness of students residing in the dormitory of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Lahat Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research design with a cross-sectional survey. The population consisted of 220 dormitory students, and 110 respondents were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using structured Likert-scale questionnaires and supported by documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, partial hypothesis testing (t-test), and simultaneous hypothesis testing (F-test) at a 5% significance level. The findings reveal that motivation has a positive and significant effect on students’ religious awareness (t = 3.25; p = 0.002), indicating that stronger learning and spiritual motivation contributes to higher religious awareness. Personality also has a significant effect (t = 2.80; p = 0.007), suggesting that disciplined and responsible students demonstrate better religious awareness. Likewise, the social environment significantly influences religious awareness (t = 2.10; p = 0.040), highlighting the importance of a supportive dormitory climate, peer interaction, and teacher supervision. Simultaneously, motivation, personality, and social environment significantly affect religious awareness (F = 15.30; p = 0.000), explaining 62% of the variance, while the remaining 38% is attributed to factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings provide practical implications for dormitory supervisors, Islamic education teachers, and school leaders in strengthening students’ religious awareness through integrated motivational, character-building, and supportive environmental programs.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the epistemological construction of Islamic education within Islamic universities, particularly how lecturers interpret sources, assess validity, and orient their academic practice. This research aims to analyze the epistemological construction of Islamic education from lecturers’ perspectives and to identify its implications for the development of Islamic learning and science. The research uses a qualitative approach within an empirical study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the epistemological construction of Islamic education, as understood by lecturers, relies on the integration of revelation, reason, experience, and social reality as the basis for knowledge development. This perspective is reflected in the lecturer’s views on the relationship between religious science and general science, the purpose of Islamic education, and learning strategies that emphasize the balance of normative, rational, and contextual aspects. This research enriches the study of epistemology in Islamic education through empirical data and offers implications for strengthening scientific paradigms, curriculum design, and learning practices in Islamic universities.
