Abstract

Peptides have been reported as a potential alternative for antidiabetic therapy by inhibiting α-amylase, one of the key enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism. This study aimed to identify α-amylase inhibitory peptides derived from trypsin hydrolysate of Caulerpa racemosa protein. The protein was extracted using trichloroacetic acid (TCA)/acetone. The resulting peptides were fractionated using a strong cationic exchanger-solid phase extraction (SCX-SPE) column. The peptide fractions were tested for α-amylase inhibitory activity, and the peptides in the most active fraction were identified using liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS). Seven fractions were obtained from SCX-SPE elution at pH 3 to 9. The fraction eluted at pH 5 exhibited the highest α-amylase inhibitory activity, with an IC50 value of 43.70 µg/mL. Four peptides with the sequences VQKEKR, MNFYCISSK, DLCDYIHNK, and ISICYEK were identified from this fraction. Molecular docking studies revealed that the peptides with sequences MNFYCISSK and VQKEKR had the strongest interactions with α-amylase. The peptide binding affinity energies of MNFYCISSK and VQKEKR were −10.3 and −9.4 kcal/mol, respectively, with RMSD values of 0.3 ± 0.0 and 0.3 ± 0.2 Å. It can be concluded that the peptides with sequences MNFYCISSK and VQKEKR could be proposed as potential antidiabetic peptides with an α-amylase inhibition mechanism.

Abstract

Abstract

Teachers' professionalism is the result of the teacher's work performance or achievements based on their ability to manage the teaching and learning activities in the classroom. Many factors influence teachers' professionalism, including interpersonal communication, school culture, leadership, and work ethic. The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication, school culture, and leadership on teachers' professionalism through work ethic as an intervening variable at SMPN 1 Kaloran. A quantitative approach was determined for this research. The population in this research consisted of 40 teachers, all from SMPN 1 Kaloran. The sampling technique used in this research was the total sampling method. The research instrument used was questionnaire, for which the validity and reliability have been tested beforehand. The data analysis for hypothesis testing used path analysis and Sobel test to find out the mediating variable. The findings showed that interpersonal communication, school culture, and leadership all have significant influence on work ethic. Interpersonal communication, school culture, and leadership also influenced teachers' professionalism mediated by work ethic. Based on these findings, teachers' professionalism can be improved through enhancements in interpersonal communication, school culture, leadership, and work ethic.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the application of e-modules in primary education and evaluate their effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which involves collecting and analyzing articles published between 2020 and 2025 related to the use of e-modules in primary schools. The research data was collected from various credible academic database sources, including Google Scholar, SINTA, DOAJ, ResearchGate, and Scopus resulting in 27 relevant articles for analysis. The results showed that the application of e-modules is very effective in increasing students' learning motivation, improving material understanding, and developing critical thinking skills. Technology-based e-modules, such as flipbooks and blended learning models, can increase interactivity in learning and make it easier for students to learn independently. In addition, the integration of local wisdom and character values in e-modules plays an important role in student character building. E-modules are an effective solution to the challenges of education in the digital era. Its application in elementary schools can improve the quality of learning, provide an interesting learning experience, and support the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum. Therefore, the development and wider application of e-modules is highly recommended to support the learning process in primary schools. Keywords: Learning Media, E-Module, Elementary School

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia requires an evaluation of teaching materials, including textbooks, to ensure alignment with the principles of the curriculum, but systematic research on textbook analysis is still limited. This research aims to identify research trends in the analysis of elementary school student books under the Merdeka Curriculum during the period 2020-2025. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the researchers analyzed 5 journal articles and proceedings indexed in Google Scholar published between 2020-2025, focusing on studies of the analysis of Indonesian language textbooks for elementary school students. The research findings indicate: (1) an increasing trend in research on the analysis of Merdeka Curriculum textbooks, (2) the dominance of Universitas Negeri Semarang as the most active institution in this field, and (3) a diversity of analytical instruments used according to the individual objectives of each study. The study's conclusion underscores the importance of raising awareness among educators and researchers in evaluating the feasibility of textbooks, as well as the need for the development of more consistent analysis standards.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a digital Flipbook teaching material based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Pesantren and SDN Ngadirgo 02, Semarang. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a simplified version of the Borg & Gall model in eight stages. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills, with the average posttest score reaching 78.98, compared to the pretest score of 53.70. The N-Gain scores were 0.46 in Class A and 0.48 in Class B, both categorized as moderate. The product was deemed highly feasible based on expert validation: language expert (95%), media expert (96%), content expert (95%), and teaching practitioner (93%). Therefore, the PBL-based Flipbook was proven to be effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in IPAS learning.
