Abstract

The learning model is a means used to implement plans for achieving the learning objectives, one of which is social science learning subjects. In the 21st century, students are required to have critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is a way of thinking to analyze problems. In increasing critical thinking skills, the students must learn independently through discovery learning and based on self-efficacy. Through the discovery learning model, the student’s critical thinking skills and self-efficacy will increase. The purpose of the research is to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy. The research uses quasi-experimental. In total, 48 students participated in the research with 26 participating in the experimental class and 22 participating in the control class. Data collection methods include tests, non-tests questionnaires, and note-taking. Data analysis using descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing (including the N-Gain and mean difference tests) were to check the data. The N-Gain TKBK values are 1.7903 for the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group's N-Gain self-efficacy score are compared to the control group, and the NGain value is 1.4253. Through a higher effectiveness value than 1, it is clear that the discovery learning model is effective to increaxse students’ critical thinking skills and self-efficacy.

Abstract

Industry 5.0 requires vocational graduates to possess not only technical skills but also multidimensional work readiness. However, evidence regarding the integration of blended learning and experiential learning in vocational fashion technology training remains limited. This study examined the implementation of the Blended–Kolb Experiential Learning model and its association with trainees’ work readiness at BBPVP Semarang. A quantitative pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed with 16 trainees. Data were collected through cognitive tests, psychomotor and affective observations, and a work-readiness questionnaire. The results showed improvements in cognitive (47.81–89.69), psychomotor (37.18–94.25), affective (33.00–91.75), and work-readiness scores (39.53–92.38). N-Gain values ranged from 0.81 to 0.91, while the paired-sample t-test indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < .001). The findings suggest that the model was associated with positive improvements in trainees’ competencies and work-readiness indicators. The study supports the integration of digital learning, experiential activities, reflection, and project-based practice in vocational education.

Abstract

The rapid integration of digital tools in primary education necessitates a robust pedagogical framework to optimize student engagement. This study aims to systematically review the impact of Canva-based learning media combined with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, 25 high-quality national and international journals were analyzed based on thematic relevance and methodological rigor. The findings indicate that Canva catalyzes visual literacy and student interaction, while the PjBL model fosters a constructive environment for the development of critical and creative skills. The synergy between these two components significantly enhances cognitive outcomes and 21st-century skills, including collaboration and problem-solving. This research contributes to the discourse on digital pedagogy by highlighting how visual-centric tools can bridge the gap between abstract concepts and project execution in early childhood education. Practically, this study provides a strategic framework for elementary teachers to design technology-integrated curricula that are both interactive and goal-oriented. Ultimately, the integration of Canva and PjBL offers a transformative strategy to elevate the quality of digital-based learning in elementary settings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of reading literacy strategies in Merdeka Curriculum instruction for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Buniwah 01, covering planning, implementation, evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors faced by the teacher. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The participants consisted of one fourth-grade teacher, one principal, and 25 students. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Data trustworthiness was ensured through source and technique triangulation, member checking, and the use of adequate theoretical references. The results show that the teacher planned literacy activities by integrating reading materials into teaching modules aligned with themes and learning outcomes in the Merdeka Curriculum. The main strategies used were guided reading, paired reading, and reading aloud. These strategies increased student engagement, facilitated text comprehension, and enriched vocabulary. Supporting factors included the availability of a reading corner, the principal’s commitment, and the teacher’s creativity in designing literacy activities. Inhibiting factors included limited thematic reading collections, diverse reading abilities among students, time constraints, and an uneven home reading culture. Efforts to address these obstacles involved utilizing digital reading resources, developing simplified teacher-made texts, implementing differentiated instruction, and involving parents through home reading assignments. Overall, the implementation of reading literacy strategies in Merdeka Curriculum instruction had a positive impact on students’ motivation and reading comprehension and contributed to the development of adaptive and sustainable reading literacy programs in primary schools.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies and implementation of an inclusive child-friendly school culture for slow learner students at SDN 1 Tamanrejo, Blora. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the classroom teacher, and documentation of one fourth-grade student (Khoirul Anwar, pseudonym) who experienced learning difficulties in mathematics and Indonesian language. The results showed that the implemented strategies included clear and concise instructions, breaking material into small parts, use of visual and concrete media (pictures, videos, real objects), additional time for completing assignments, positive reinforcement, and parental involvement in regular study guidance at home. However, challenges remain due to the absence of special assisting teachers (GPK), lack of formal assessment modifications, and limited assistive technology. Khoirul Anwar showed significant improvements after three months: increased self-confidence, improved reading ability, and more active participation in group work. The inclusive culture is still in the early stage, but the teacher's caring professional identity and peer empathy are positive assets. This study recommends ongoing teacher training on differentiated instruction for slow learners, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and modified assessment systems to build a sustainable inclusive school culture.
