Abstract

Indonesia is known to the world for the tourism it offers. Various approaches to tourism are now emerging over time, and one of the focuses of government development is village-based tourism or ecovillage toursim. The development of this tourist village itself cannot run well if there is no cooperation between the local government and the local community. Therefore, there is a need for communication between the two parties who have a similar vision and mission and are able to work together to develop an ecovillage. This is also what the West Java government and the people of Garut city are doing to develop tourist villages in their area. This study aims to determine the pattern of information dissemination carried out by the Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Office (DISPARBUD) in the development of an ecovillage-based tourism. Using a qualitative descriptive case study method and involving three members of DISPARBUD as the participants, the results of this study indicate that DIPSPARBUD has a simple pattern of disseminating information to local communities regarding the development of ecovillage. This pattern goes through three stages namely; (1) Information distribution (determining communicators, compiling messages, scheduling socialization), (2) Performance reporting (analyzing and responding to the effects of communication, (3) Managing stakeholders (evaluation). With this communication pattern, DISPARBUD seeks to optimize the delivery of information regarding development a tourist village that continues to move forward and is expected to produce many other tourist villages in the future

Abstract

Using humor in Islamic da'wah can effectively approach the millennial generation more engagingly and entertainingly. This study aims to identify factors that need to be considered when using humor in the context of da'wah, especially when dealing with millennials with different characteristics and communication preferences. This study uses a library research method to develop a strong and comprehensive theoretical foundation related to the topic of study. The study's findings show that the application of humor in Islamic da'wah among the millennial generation requires a balanced approach between creativity, ethics, and a deep understanding of the characteristics of the millennial generation, which in turn affects the effectiveness of da'wah. A better understanding of millennials' communication preferences and values can enrich the use of humor to create emotional connections and effectively convey religious messages while ensuring that the messages remain consistent with the values of true Islamic teachings. This study implies that in the face of technological advancements and the social media landscape, humor can be an effective tool for fostering emotional connections with millennial audiences and effectively conveying religious messages, provided that its use is directed toward the positive goals of enriching religious understanding, strengthening communication, and ensuring consistency with Islamic values that are rahmatān lil ‘ālamīn.

Abstract

The growing halal industry and digital marketplace have reshaped Gen Z consumer behaviour, leading their purchase patterns to blend Islamic values with digital lifestyles. Although existing studies have examined Islamic marketing, product quality, and online consumer behaviour separately, limited research has modelled their combined effects on purchase decisions within a sharia-compliant framework. This study addresses this gap by developing a quantitative model that predicts Generation Z's purchase decisions, with customer satisfaction as the mediating variable. Using a survey-based design, data were collected from 53 Gen Z respondents and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). The study results show that consumer shopping habits significantly influence their level of satisfaction. Product quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Sharia marketing has a substantial impact on customer satisfaction. Shopping lifestyle has a significant impact on purchasing choices. Product quality has a considerable impact on purchasing choices. Sharia marketing has a substantial effect on consumer purchasing decisions. Customer satisfaction significantly affects purchasing decisions. Globally, the study provides empirical evidence supporting the growing relevance of the halal economy and offers insights for policymakers and industries seeking to strengthen consumer trust and competitiveness.
