Abstract

A teaching practice is an effort to improve prospective teachers’ competence. Students’ development in the teaching practice is the key to its successful implementation. This study aims at describing and gaining an understanding of readiness of mathematics education students in conducting teaching practices. This study is a qualitative research with a type of phenomenology. Data were obtained from an open questionnaire of students from Indonesia and Malaysia. The participants of this study were 23 seventh semester students who have implemented teaching practices for 2 months. Data were analyzed using Bogdan Biklen approach. The result revealed that students’ ability in conducting the teaching practice was good, but they still need to improve managing the classroom. The constraints experienced by the teachers were related to learning instructions and time allocations, while for the students, the learning equipment facilities, coordination, school policy, and culture became their problems. However, both students and teachers had their own various strategies in overcoming these obstacles.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran bangun ruang SMP dengan pendekatan problem-based learning yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dilihat dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan sikap terhadap matematika. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan model 4D yang meliputi tahap pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan tahap disseminasi. Hasil penelitian berupa perangkat pembelajaran bangun ruang yang terdiri atas silabus, RPP, LKS, dan instrumen evaluasi berupa tes pencapaian kompetensi dasar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Kevalidan perangkat mencapai kategori sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian para ahli. Kepraktisan perangkat mencapai kategori sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian guru, penilaian peserta didik, dan observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Aspek keefektifan dipenuhi dari tercapainya minimal 75% peserta didik lulus KKM ditinjau dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar dan berpikir kritis, serta lebih dari 80% peserta didik mempunyai sikap terhadap matematika dalam kategori tinggi. Dari kegiatan ekperimen diperoleh bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan lebih efektif daripada perangkat pembelajaran konvensional ditinjau dari pencapaian kompetensi dasar, berpikir kritis, dan sikap terhadap matematika.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, pendekatan problem-based learning, bangun ruang SMP Developning Space Learning Kits in Junior High School with Problem-Based Learning ApproachAbstractThis study was aimed to produce space learning kits with problem-based learning approach in Junior High School which was valid, practical, and effective based on achievement of basic competence, critical thinking skill, and attitude towards mathematics. This study was and development study using the 4D development model that included defining, designing, developing, and  disseminating phase. This study produced valid, practical, and effective space learning kits that consisted of syllabus, lesson plans, students’ worksheets, and assessment tests that included test of basic competence achievement and critical thinking test. Kits validity gets very good category from expert assessment. Kits practically gets very good category from teachers assessment, students assessment, and observation of learning implementation. The aspect of effectiveness was seen from achievement minimal 75% of the student pass the minimum score for achievement of basic competence and critical thinking skill, and more than 80% of student have attitude toward mathematics in high category. The result of experiment activity shows that the developed learning kits more effective than conventional learning kits based on achievement of basic competence, critical thinking, and attitude toward mathematics.Keywords: development, learning kits, problem-based learning approach, space

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran pada materi bangun segitiga dan segi empat dengan penemuan terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada Kompetensi Dasar “Menghitung keliling dan luas bangun segitiga dan segi empat serta menggunakannya dalam pemecahan masalah” yang layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan model Plomp. Pengembangan yang dilakukan dengan 5 tahap yaitu: (1) analisis permasalahan, (2) rancangan, (3) realisasi, (4) implementasi, (5) evaluasi. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Patuk Gunungkidul dengan 32 siswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi perangkat, lembar kepraktisan perangkat, dan tes. Data yang dikumpulkan berupa data tentang kualitas produk yang dikembangkan yaitu kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran pada Kompetensi Dasar “Menghitung keliling dan luas bangun segitiga dan segiempat serta menggunakannya dalam pemecahan masalah” yang telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, penemuan terbimbing, pemecahan masalah   DEVELOPING TEACHING AND LEARNING KITS THROUGH GUIDED DISCOVERY TO IMPROVE THE COMPETENCE OF PROBLEM SOLVING Abstract This research is aimed to produce a learning kits material of triangle and square shape through guided inquiry to improve a problem solving competence on the basic competence of “counting the circle and  the width of the triangle and square shape and use it to solve problem” which is appropriate to use in a process of teaching and learning activity. This research is a developing research which uses the Plomp model. The development is done through 5 phases, i.e. (1) Problem analysis, (2) designing, (3) realization, (4) implementation, (5) evaluation. Subjects of trial-test in this research are the seven grade students of SMP Negeri Patuk 1 Gunungkidul, 32 students. The instruments of collecting data used are; validity observation sheet, practicality sheet, and test instruments. Data collected are data about the product quality which is developed, i.e. validity, practicality, and effectivity. This research produced the instrument of teaching and learning on the basic competence of “counting the circle and the width of the triangle and square shape and use it to solve problem” which fulfils the valid, practical and effective criterion. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika dengan metode inkuiri pada persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel, dengan kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif ditinjau dari prestasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan diadaptasi dari model pengembangan Reiser Dempsey. Pengembangan terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri dari silabus, RPP, LAS, dan tes ulangan harian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Kevalidan produk pengembangan ditentukan oleh validasi ahli, kepraktisan produk pengem-bangan ditentukan oleh penilaian guru, dan siswa, sedangkan keefektifan produk pengembangan ditinjau dari prestasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Prestasi yang dicapai siswa mencapai rata-rata 76,94 melampaui KKM yakni 70, sedangkan kepercayaan diri siswa dari 55,88% menjadi 82,35% pada kategori minimal baik. Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, inkuiri   DEVELOPING LEARNING MATERIALS MATHEMATICS WITH INQUIRY METHOD FOR EQUATIONS LINEAR AND INEQUALITY OF ONE VARIABLE Abstract The aim of this study produces mathematics instructional materials, on linear equations and inequalities one variable with inquiry methods that valid, practical, and effective criteria in terms of student achievement and self-confidence. This study is developmental research. It is adapted from Reiser Dempsey models. The research through several phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instructional materials is consists of syllabi, lesson plans, student sheet activity, and daily tests. The results showed that is the valid criteria valid, practical, and effective. Validity of development product is determined by the expert validation, the practicality is determined by the assessment of teachers, and students, while the effectiveness in terms of student achievement and self-confidence. Achievements of students achieving an average of 76.9412 beyond the KKM 70, while the confidence of students from 55.88% to 82.35% on minimal good category. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen kelas yang berupa perencanaan, pengorganisasian, penggerakan/kepemimpinan dan pengevaluasian dari pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan oleh guru matematika di SMA Negeri Yogyakarta. Dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif jenis studi kasus ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 5, 8 dan 9 Yogyakarta dengan subjek data adalah kepala sekolah, guru kurikulum, guru matematika dan siswa. Untuk teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara yang dilakukan dengan proses triangulasi dan teknik analisisnya menggunakan analisis induktif dari Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa manajemen kelas dalam pembelajaran matematika yaitu (1) perencanaannya dengan penyusunan seperangkat pembelajaran mendatangkan ahli pada MGMP, memberikan waktu 10 menit untuk sarapan dan melakukan pengujian pretest. (2) Pengorganisasianya dengan pendekatan cooperative learning, pendekatan scientific, menekankan siswa yang pasif dan ketika siswa jenuh, guru mengajak bernyanyi. Guru memanfaatkan alat peraga yang mudah dicari dengan melibatkan siswa untuk praktek langsung serta memanfatkan media youtube. (3) Kepemimpinannya dengan guru menguasai keadaan peta kelas, menghafal nama siswa, membangunkan untuk sholat tahajud, memancing siswa untuk aktif dengan memberikan soal susah, memberikan reward dan cerita motivasi melalui youtube. (4) Evaluasi dengan guru melakukan pendekatan kepada siswa dan memiliki program bimbingan individu untuk siswa yang tidak memperhatikan pada saat pembelajaran dan siswa yang tidak menyukai matematika dari awal.Kata kunci: manajemen kelas, pembelajaran matematika CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN YOGYAKARTA MUNICIPALITYAbstractThe research aims at finding out the classroom management that such as planning, organizing, actuating/ leadership and evaluating of learning mathematics which is done by mathematics teachers in Senior High Schools (SHS) in Yogyakarta Municipality. By using qualitative research in the form of case study research, this research was conducted at SHS 5, 8, and 9 Yogyakarta with the headmasters, curriculum teachers, mathematics teachers, and students as the subjects of the research. For the technique of collecting data used observation guide and interview guide which was done by using triangulation process and the technique of analyzing the data used inductive analysis by Miles and Huberman. The result of the research reveal that classroom management in learning mathematics, namely (1) the planning by arranging a set of teaching and learning and conducing an expert from mathematics teacher organization (MGMP), giving 10 minutes for breakfast, and conduct a pretest. (2) The organization uses cooperative learning approach, scientific approach, encouraging passive students and when the students were getting bored, the teachers asks to sing a song. They use powerpoint by using appropriate animation, utilizing the tools which are easy to look for and involving students to practice directly and utilizing media such as youtube. (3) The leadership is indicated by teachers mastering the map situation of the class, memorizing the students’ names, waking up for tahajud prayer, enhancing students to be active by providing difficult tasks, giving rewards and telling the motivational stories through video. (4) The evaluation is by teachers approaching toward the students and having individual guidance program for students who do not pay attention to teaching and learning process and the students who dislike mathematics from the beginning.Keywords: classroom management,  teaching and learning mathemathics

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah, pelaksanaan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah, pelaksanaan tugas tata usaha sekolah secara bersama-sama maupun parsial terhadap kualitas  pendidikan SD/MI di Kecamatan Depok  Kabupaten Sleman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh SD/MI baik negeri maupun swasta di Kecamatan Depok  Kabupaten Sleman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan angket kuesioner  para guru dan petugas tata usaha sekolah  pada SD/MI di kecamatan Depok. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi berganda dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Pengujian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan bantuan program SPSS versi 16. Dari hasil analisis regresi berganda ditemukan pengaruh yang signifikan  penerapan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah, manajemen berbasis sekolah dan pelaksanaan tugas tata usaha sekolah secara bersama-sama terhadap kualitas pendidikan dengan persamaan (Ŷ=0,174X1+0,334X2+0,477X3) dan besarnya pengaruh 56,8%; F(3,39)=19,382; p0,05. Selanjutnya ditinjau dari koefisien beta ditemukan pengaruh yang tidak signifikan dari kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap kualitas pendidikan dengan persamaan Ŷ=0,174X1;p0,05, pengaruh penerapan manajemen berbasis sekolah terhadap kualitas pendidikan tidak signifikan dengan persamaan Ŷ=0,334X2;p0,05, sedangkan pelaksanaan tugas tata usaha berpengaruh secara signifikan dengan persamaan Ŷ=0,477X3;p0,05 terhadap kualitas pendidikan SD/MI di kecamatan Depok kabupaten Sleman. Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan penerapan manajemen berbasis sekolah tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan kemungkinan disebabkan beberapa responden  outlier, data pokok atau tanggapan dari peserta penelitian yang tampaknya berada di luar jangkauan sebagian besar data. Abstract

The approach of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Indonesia is a new thing in education. The actors in the world of education still continue to adapt to all changes and updates happened all the time. Yet, sometimes the changes are not supported by the improvement in teachers’ knowledge, skill, and readiness. This phenomenological research aims to analyze the elementary teachers' perspective in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) framework implementation in Indonesia. The research is phenomenological research focused on the elementary school teachers’ perspective on STEM implementation.  There are 35 teachers of public and private elementary schools with more than a year of service period in Yogyakarta, Indonesia was involved in this research. Data collection was conducted by the interview. The data collecting technique was analyzed with Bogdan and Biklen's analysis models. The analysis results were used to seek the information related to the following aspects: Teachers’ knowledge of STEM, benefits of STEM, steps of STEM implementation, assessment of STEM implementation, and teacher readiness to implement STEM. The results showed that the teachers’ knowledge in the STEM framework was still low and they were not ready to implement STEM for various reasons. This research is expected to be a reference for elementary schools and local government in socializing STEM and to support the STEM implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

The ongoing online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic has become a separate catalyst for the development of education that utilizes technology in the current industrial 4.0 era. However, on the other hand, there are still many gaps in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research study aims to (1) explore the experiences of postgraduate students in online learning; (2) describe the negative impacts and barriers to online learning, along with strategies for dealing with them; and (3) observe the potential that emerges in the future after the Covid-19 pandemic can be overcome. This research is qualitative research with a type of case study. Data were collected through open questionnaires and interviews with participants of 30 postgraduate students of the Primary education study program, Yogyakarta State University. Data analysis was accomplished by examining themes and sub-themes in each topic discussed, then determining the correlation between the sub-themes to conclude. The results show that students have varied experiences throughout online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, students also gain negative physical and psychological impacts, get obstacles concerning data reception, gadgets, interaction with lecturers, independent study, and learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, students also still have various strategies in dealing with the obstacles and negative impacts of Covid-19. Finally, online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is giving potential as well as negative things in the future once it is resolved.

Abstract

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in education has caused the learning curriculum to experience replication. Not only in delivering learning material, but replication also occurs in the learning assessment process. Teachers are required to be able to carry out an objective assessment of learning in all subjects. This study aims to determine teacher difficulties and explore alternative assessments used by teachers in mathematics learning in the pandemic era. This research is a qualitative study using an exploratory study approach that aims to deepen the study of research objectives that focus on constraint and alternative phenomena in assessing mathematics learning in elementary schools. The instrument used has been validated by experts and got the value of the coefficient Aiken = 0,742 this shows that the instrument used is valid and in the good category. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires for teachers and field observations in the online learning process. Data analysis was carried out by using descriptive techniques from the findings of the questionnaire and observation instruments. This study's results reveal that the teacher finds it difficult to provide an objective assessment of learning, and the alternative assessment of mathematics learning used is digital learning assessment and structured assignments to parent representatives in each zoning. Future research is expected to develop assessment instruments that can facilitate online learning assessments in the pandemic era.

Abstract

Abstrak Komunikasi masuk dalam salah satu keterampilan abad ke-21 di framework PISA 2018 yang akan diukur. Selain itu tujuan pembelajaran matematika menurut Permendikbud bahwa salah satunya siswa mampu mengkomunikasikan gagasan serta mampu menyusun bukti matematika dengan menggunakan simbol matematika. Sehingga guru di tuntut untuk meningkatkan komunikasi siswa khusus di masa pandemi sekarang yang menerapkan pembelajaran secara daring (online). Sehingga tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan guru dalam membantu perkembangan komunikasi matematis siswa selama pembelajaran online. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif jenis Fenomenalogi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara via wa dengan 12 guru SMP Sumatera Selatan. Analisis data yang digunakan ialah Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan (1) pengumpulan data;(2) reduksi data dan penyajian; dan (3) menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa kesulitan guru dalam membantu perkembangan komunikasi matematis siswa yaitu : pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran, kondisi siswa dan ekonomi serta teknis pembelajaran online. Kata kunci: Komunikasi Matematis, Pembelajaran Online Abstract Communication get into one of the 21st Century skills in Framework PISA 2018 to be measured. In addition, the purpose of learning mathematics according Permendikbud is one of them is able to communicate ideas and able to compile mathematical evidence using with mathematical symbols. So, the teachers are demanded to foster student mathematical communication especially in current pandemic that implementations online learning. Therefor, the purpose of this study is describe teacher’s difficulties in fostering student mathematical communication during online learning. This study is qualitative research type of phenomenology. Data collected through interview WA with 12 teacher in South Sumatera. Data analysis use Miles and Huberman namely : (1) data collection (2) data reduction and  presentation; and (4) Draw conclusions. The result show that there are several teacher’s difficuly  in fostering students’ mathematical communication i.e : implementation of learning process, student conditions and techonology, economics.
