Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) karakteristik pcrangkat tes; 2) besar kesalahan pengukuran; 3) seberapa banyak butir-butir perangkat tes memuat keberfungsian butir diferensial; 4) metode yang paling sensitif dalam pendeteksian keberfungsian butir diferensial; dan 5) keberfungsian tes diferensial pada perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTP mata pelajaran matematika. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN di Kota Yogyakarta tahun pelajaran 2002/2003. Pada penelitian ini dipilih perangkat tes dan respons peserta seleksi dari 3 sekolah yakni SLTPN X Yogyakarta, SLTPN Y Yogyakarta, dan SLTPN Z Yogyakarta untuk dianalisis. Untuk mendcteksi DIF pcrangkat tes bcrdasarkan kelompok jenis kelamin siswa, digunakan tiga metode yaitu metode Khi-kuadrat dari Lord, metode Perbandingan Kemungkinan dan metode Mantel-Haenszel.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan tcori tes klasik, perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN X Yogyakarta memiliki indeks reliabilitasnya 0,683, dan indeks validitas prediktifnya 0,415; perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN Y Yogyakarta memiliki indeks reliabilitasnya 0,546, dan indeks validitas prediktifnya 0,5; perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN Z Yogyakarta memiliki indeks rcliabilitas 0,718, dan indeks validitas prediktifnya -0,064. Berdasarkan teori respons butir, perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN X Yogyakarta mempunyai nilai fungsi informasi 2,751; pcrangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN Y Yogyakarta memiliki nilai fungsi informasi sebesar 1,755; perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN Z Yogyakarla memiliki nilai informasi sebesar 3,399. Koefisien kesalahan pengukuran yang paling kecil diperoleh jika digunakan pendekatan leori respons butir dan pendekatan ini nampaknya paling tepat untuk mengetahui karakteristik perangkat tes. Metode Mantel-Haenszel merupakan metode yang paling banyak menghasilkan butir yang memuat DIF, namun belum diketahui besarnya kesalahan dalam pendeteksian DIF. Perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN X Yogyakarta mengandung DTF yang tidak seragam (non-uniform DTF), sedangkan perangkat tes seleksi masuk SLTPN Y dan SLTPN Z Yogyakarta memuat DTF seragam (uniform DTF), yang menguntungkan kelompok perempuan pada seluruh parameter kemampuan peserta tes.Kata Kunci: karakteristik, keberfungsian butir diferensial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan pendekatan problem posing dalam setting pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI dan pendekatan konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis, (2) membandingkan keefektifan pendekatan problem posing dalam setting pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI dan pendekatan konvensional ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Purworejo yang berjumlah 190 orang dan tersebar dalam 6 kelas. Berdasarkan pengambilan sampel diperoleh kelas VIII F sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VIII E sebagai kelompok kontrol. Data dianalisis menggunakan one-sample t-test, uji MANOVA dengan rumus T2 Hotteling dan uji-t dengan kriteria Bonferroni. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Pada taraf kepercayaan 95%, penerapan pendekatan problem posing dalam setting pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI efektif, sedangkan pendekatan konvensional tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis. (2) Penerapan pendekatan problem posing dalam setting pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan penerapan pendekatan konvensional.Kata Kunci: problem posing, pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI, komunikasi matematis, pemecahan masalah matematis. The Cooperative of the TAI Type-Set Problem posing in Terms of the Communication and Problem Solving Competencies AbstractThis study aims to: (1) describe the effectiveness of the cooperative learning of the TAI type-set problem posing approach and the conventional approach in terms of the mathematical communication and problem solving competencies, (2) compare the effectiveness of the two approaches in terms of their mathematical communication and problem solving competencies. The research population comprised the 190 Grade VIII students, distributed in six classes, of SMP Negeri 11 Purworejo. The selected sample consisted of Class VIII F as the experimental group and Class VIII E as the control group. The data were analyzed using one-sample t-test, MANOVA test with T2 Hotteling’s formula and t-test with Bonferroni criterion. The results of the study are as follows. (1) At the 95% level of signi-ficance, the mathematics teaching through the cooperative learning of the TAI type-set problem posing approach is effective and the conventional approach is not effective in terms of the mathematical communication and problem solving competencies. (2) The application of the cooperative learning of the TAI type-set problem posing approach is more effective than that of the conventional approach.Keywords: Problem posing, Cooperative Learning of the TAI Type, Mathematical Communication, Mathematical Problem Solving

Abstract

This study aims to identify teachers' practices and barriers in carrying out a cognitive mathematics assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The type of research used is an online survey using a google form, which is spread over ten days via WhatsApp. This survey uses a qualitative approach. The research instrument was constructed from a pocketbook of periodic diagnostic assessment. A total of 78 primary to secondary school teachers from various regions in Indonesia participated. Data analysis was done descriptively, while data from open questions were analyzed using Atlasti 9. The study results present the practice of cognitive assessment regularly carried out by online-based mathematics teachers in high-grade elementary schools to secondary schools. In contrast, low-grade elementary schools are conducted by home visit. In practice, teachers experience several obstacles: the validity of the answers, limited time in the assessment, barriers from students themselves, and facilities. These obstacles cause the assessment results not to describe the cognitive level in-depth or provide valid and reliable information regarding students' achievement.

Abstract

Abstract Collaborative skills are becoming mandatory in the 21st century. There have been many studies that show the effectiveness of the collaborative learning (CL) approach on students' collaboration and interaction abilities. In Indonesia, through the implementation of 2013 curriculum, group learning is encouraged. This study aims to describe the implementation of collaborative learning by describing the teachers' understanding of collaborative skills and collaborative learning models, the strategies teachers use to teach collaborative skills, and the constraints that prevent teachers from using collaborative learning models. This qualitative research involved 13 elementary school teachers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using the Bogdan and Biklen models. The results show that 1) the teachers' understanding of collaborative skills still needs to be improved, especially in the collaboration aspect, 2) the teachers' knowledge about collaborative learning models is still lacking, 3) the obstacles that cause teachers not to use CL are teachers' lack of knowledge, teachers’ lack of motivation to improve their knowledge, teachers’ hesitance to try new learning models, and teachers' concerns that it will be difficult for students to use CL. Therefore, the teachers need to increase their understanding and open themselves to new learning models. This can be a concern for principals and teacher education managers to provide intensive education and training related to collaborative learning approach.Keyword: collaborative learning, teachers’ understanding, elementary schools. AbstractKeterampilan kolaboratif menjadi keterampilan wajib di abad ke-21. Telah banyak penelitian yang menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan pembelajaran kolaboratif terhadap kemampuan kolaborasi dan interaksi siswa. Di Indonesia, melalui penerapan kurikulum 2013, pembelajaran kelompok digalakkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran kolaboratif dengan mendeskripsikan pemahaman guru tentang keterampilan kolaboratif dan model pembelajaran kolaboratif, strategi yang digunakan guru untuk mengajarkan keterampilan kolaboratif, dan kendala yang menghalangi guru menggunakan model pembelajaran kolaboratif. Penelitian kualitatif ini melibatkan 13 guru SD di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Bogdan dan Biklen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) pemahaman guru tentang keterampilan kolaboratif masih perlu ditingkatkan terutama pada aspek kolaborasi, 2) pengetahuan guru tentang model pembelajaran kolaboratif masih kurang, 3) kendala yang menyebabkan guru tidak menggunakan pembelajaran kolaboratif adalah kurangnya pengetahuan guru, kurangnya motivasi guru untuk meningkatkan pengetahuannya, keengganan guru untuk mencoba model pembelajaran baru, dan kekhawatiran guru akan kesulitan siswa dalam menggunakan pembelajaran kolaboratif. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu meningkatkan pemahaman dan membuka diri terhadap model pembelajaran baru. Hal ini dapat menjadi perhatian bagi kepala sekolah dan pengelola pendidikan guru untuk memberikan pendidikan dan pelatihan secara intensif terkait dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kolaboratif.Kata kunci: pembelajaran kolaborasi, pemahaman guru, sekolah dasar.

Abstract

AbstractA good communication skill is one of the capabilities that must be mastered by students to be able to socialize, adapt, and compete with others in the scope of school and social life in the 21st century. The purpose of this type of descriptive qualitative research was about to describe the teachers' strategies in developing and conducting an assessment related to the communication skills of elementary school students in Indonesia. Data were obtained through interviews with 10 elementary school teachers in Yogyakarta Province. Data analysis was performed through applying data analysis steps proposed by Bogdan and Biglen. The results showed that an effective strategy that teachers could use to develop students' communication skills was through discussion and presentation methods. Meanwhile, the assessment of students' communication skills is integrated to cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments both in terms of instruments and time of assessment. This was resulted from various limitations originating of the teacher and the availability and completeness of school facilities and infrastructure that supports the implementation of various kinds of assessment.Keywords: assessment, communication skills, elementary school students. AbstrakKeterampilan komunikasi yang baik adalah salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa untuk dapat bersosialisasi, beradaptasi dan bersaing dengan orang lain dalam ruang lingkup sekolah maupun kehidupan sosial di abad ke-21. Tujuan dari penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi guru dalam mengembangkan dan melakukan penilaian terkait kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik Sekolah Dasar di Indonesia. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara yang bersumber dari 10 orang guru sekolah dasar di Provinsi Yogyakarta. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah analisis data yang dikemukakan oleh Bogdan dan Biglen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi efektif yang dapat digunakan guru untuk mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa adalah melalui pembelajaran diskusi dan presentasi. Sedangkan penilaian kemampuan komunikasi siswa dilakukan secara terintegrasi dengan penilaian kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor baik dalam hal instrumen maupun waktu penilaian. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh berbagai keterbatasan yang berasal dari guru dan ketersediaan serta kelengkapan sarana dan prasarana sekolah yang mendukung keterlaksanaan berbagai macam penilaian.Kata kunci: penilaian, kemampuan komunikasi, siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Improving the quality of human resources is the main supporting factor in increasing national productivity in various fields and development sectors. The government's productive investment activities that spur the nation's competitiveness in the global era prioritize Indonesia's education development. This study aims to cluster provinces in Indonesia based on educational indicators using the Agglomerative method consisting of the Average Linkage and Ward methods. Data collection is based on documentation techniques obtained from Statistics Indonesia in 2018. Data analysis used hierarchical cluster analysis consisting of data standardization, determining the size of the similarity or dissimilarity between data, the clustering process with a distance matrix, and seeing the characteristics of the cluster results formed. The second clustering method is by doing the initial grouping and determining the excellent cluster based on the average standard deviation ratio to the standard deviation between groups. Clustering results show the Ward method with the number of collections as many as 4 clusters and produces a ratio with a value of 0.01 smaller than the Average Linkage method. It shows that the cluster analysis method using the Ward method has better group accuracy quality than the Average Linkage method.

Abstract

One of the most important characters and must be implemented by students is the character of social care. The teacher has a very important role in impntation of characters in schools. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in the implementation of social care character education in elementary schools. This type of research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological type. The researchers conducted interviews and gave questionnaires to 32 primary teachers in South Sumatra Province. The results of this study indicated that the teacher instills a social care character in the classroom by integrating social care character into learning materials and becoming good role models for students. Teachers also give punishment and rewards in order to encourage and discipline students. Teachers and schools have also carried out various activities to instill social care in students. It has also received support from many parents of students. To make social caring character education run optimally, several ways can do by the teacher is that the lesson plan that is made must be considered and by the elements of education, making study contracts and further increasing parental participation in students' social activities. Abstract

At analysis of item bayes or called with differential item functioning (DIF) using the Mantel-Haenszel’s Chi–squareprocedure, the students in a group is grouped pursuant to their reached score, in a certain interval. This research is aimed atrevealing the effect of the number of interval to the sensitivitas at DIF analysis using the Mantel-Haenszel’s Chi-Squareprocedure. Data used at this research is the responses of students of the third grade of SLTPN in Yogyakarta to UAN in2002 / 2003 academic year. Analysis DIFin this research is conducted by making 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 intervals in students’group pursuant to their reached score using Mantel-Haenszel‘s Chi-Square procedure. The result of this research showedthat the number of intervals causes the differencies of the number of items load DIF significantly in every interval, and itcauses the differencies of sensitivity in the DIF detection; and making 4 intervals in group of students is the most sensitiveway in the DIF detection using Mantel-Haenszel methods, than others.

Abstract

Dalam melakukan standarisasi pendidikan di Indonesia maka dilakukan Ujian Sekolah Berstandar Nasional (USBN).Karena perangkat tes yang digunakan dalam USBN tersebut sebagian besar butir tesnya dikembangkan oleh guru, perangkat tes yang diujikan kepada siswa di daerah yang satu akan berbeda dengan daerah yang lainnya meskipun sama-sama mengacu pada kisi-kisi dari pemerintah. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penyetaraan perangkat tersebut. Penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan pendekatan kuantitif ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesetaraan perangkat USBN tahun 2018/2019 pada mata pelajaran matematika wajib. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi respon siswa pada USBN 2018/2019 untuk mata pelajaran matematika wajib. Respon siswa tersebut berasal dari lima paket soal dari empat sekolah menengah atas di Provinsi D.I. Yogyakarta dan Kalimantan Selatan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan teknik equating berdasarkan teori respon butir dengan metode mean-mean, mean-sigma, Haebara, dan Stocking Lord. Estimasi parameter butir dan equating dilakukan dengan bantuan program R. Hasil penyetaraan menggunakan empat metode menunjukkan bahwa lima paket tes USBN 2018/2019 untuk mata pelajaran matematika wajib cenderung setara satu sama lain dan penyetaraan menggunakan metode Haebara menghasilkan kesetaraan yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan tiga metode equating lainnya. Dalam artikel ini juga disajikan contoh butir sulit beserta peluangnya untuk digunakan sebagai referensi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika. How are the results of the equating of test packages of mathematics USBN with item response theory?AbstractIn standardizing education in Indonesia, then Ujian Sekolah Berstandar Nasional (USBN) or National-Standardized School Examination was conducted. Because most of the test items contained in the test packages which were used in USBN were developed by the teachers, the test packages which were administered to students in a region would be different from other regions. Therefore, there was a need to do equating towards those test packages. This exploratory descriptive research with a quantitative approach was focused on describing the equality of test packages of USBN year 2018/2019 for compulsory mathematics subject. Data collection was done through documentation of students’ responses to the USBN 2018/2019 for compulsory mathematics subject. These students’ responses were collected from five test packages from four senior high schools in Province of Special Region of Yogyakarta and South Kalimantan, Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed by using an equating technique based on the item response theory with the methods of mean-mean, mean-sigma, Haebara, and Stocking Lord. The item parameter estimation and equating were conducted with the aid of the R program. The results of equating showed that the five test packages of the USBN 2018/2019 for compulsory mathematics subject tend to be equal to each other and the equating through Haebara method yields better equality than the other three equating methods. This article also presents the example of a difficult item as well as its opportunity to be used as a reference for enhancing the quality of mathematics learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika bercirikan problem-based learning (PBL) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk mengembangkan higher order thinking skills (HOTS) siswa SMA kelas X semester 2 berupa: rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dan lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS) yang dilengkapi instrumen tes hasil belajar. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D dari Thiagarajan dengan empat tahapan, yaitu: pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Uji coba dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: uji coba ahli, uji coba terbatas, dan uji coba lapangan. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa yang dipilih dari dua sekolah. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri atas lembar validasi, penilaian guru, penilaian siswa, dan instrumen tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi aspek validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan.(1) Hasil validitas menunjukkan bahwa RPP dan LKS yang dikembangkan pada kategori valid dengan indeks Aiken pada RPP sebesar 0,69 dan LKS sebesar 0,70. (2) Hasil uji coba terbatas menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan pada kategori praktis. (3) Hasil uji coba lapangan menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran efektif ditinjau dari HOTS siswa dengan persentase ketuntasan secara klasikal subjek uji coba lebih dari 75%.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran matematika, problem-based learning, higher order thinking skills Mathematics teaching kits based on PBL to develop hots of senior high school students  AbstractThis research is aimed at developing mathematics teaching kit based on problem-based learning which is valid, practical, and effective to develop the higher order thinking of grade X students senior high school in their second semester, which consists of lesson plan and students’ worksheet with test instrument. The research development used the model adapted from 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan with employing steps: defining, planning, developing, and disseminating. The tryout is conducted three steps: expert validation, limited tryout, and field tryout. The tryout subjects were teachers and students from two schools. The instruments used in this research were validation sheet, teacher’s assessment sheet, student’s assessment sheet, and test. The result of the research shows that the developed mathematics teaching kitbased on problem-based learning has met the aspect of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. (1) The result of validation shows that the lesson plan and the students’ worksheet are chategorized as valid with the Aiken analysis showing the index for the lesson plan has achieved 0.69 and the 0.70 for the students’ worksheet. (2) teh result of limited tryout shows that the developed of mathematics teaching kit is practical. (3) the result of field tryout shows that the developed of mathematics teaching is effective interm students’s HOTS with percentage of clasisical mastery subjects reached 75%.Keywords: development, mathematics teaching kit, problem-based learning, higher order thinking skills
