Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Instagram as a tax counseling medium in increasing taxpayer compliance. As an interactive visual platform, Instagram offers the convenience of conveying information that is interesting and easy to understand. This study uses a survey method with respondents from taxpayers who follow the official Instagram account of KPP Pratama Makassar Barat. The variables analyzed included the level of taxpayer compliance before and after exposure to counseling content, as well as the level of user engagement through the likes, comments, and question and answer sessions. The results of the study show that the use of Instagram has a positive and significant effect on improving compliance, especially in terms of timely reporting and tax payments. Educational content packaged in infographics and short videos has proven to be effective in attracting interest and encouraging understanding of taxpayers. User involvement through direct interaction also supports the achievement of tax education goals. The recommendations of this study emphasize the importance of optimizing relevant and easy-to-understand content to drive tax compliance through social media.Keywords: Effectiveness, Instagram, tax counseling, taxpayer compliance

Abstract

This study was conducted to identify the presence and distribution of pumice resulting from the 1257 AD eruption of Mount Samalas in the Ampenan and Sekarbela Districts of Mataram City. The research is significant because pumice serves as a volcanic indicator that greatly influences soil characteristics and the local environment. The study aims to map the distribution of pumice and to examine its subsurface dispersal, particularly in coastal areas. Georadar and geoelectric resistivity methods were employed—two geophysical techniques that measure the electrical response of the subsurface, thereby detecting changes in resistivity and conductivity indicative of volcanic material such as pumice. The results reveal that pumice is uniformly distributed at depths of 0–9 meters and is intermixed with gravel, silt, and sand. In the study area, the soil layer is predominantly sandy, likely due to its coastal location. This research underscores the importance of using geophysical methods to map the distribution of volcanic materials in shallow layers, especially in areas affected by volcanic eruptions.

Abstract

Reporting on digital mass media often vulgarly takes a position in favor of interests. Is the partiality direct, or is it in the form of framing? Television shows and newspaper reports have even become the public's 'breakfast'. The mass media is increasingly becoming a determinant of the cognitive menu of people's daily thoughts. And not a few are lulled into believing that it is the most true and authentic. This article directs attention to the role of social media as a digital public space for Indonesian people's cognition. By using Jurgen Habermas' theoretical frame on the public sphere, the author concludes that digital media plays a significant role in shaping the public's way of thinking which tends to be co-opted to political power and capital owners. This way of thinking then forms a mass culture that is prone to authoritarianism. The findings of this research also serve as a warning to stakeholders who must be more vigilant in anticipating the globalization of digital media which can actually change the face of political education and the future of our democracy.

Abstract

Digital skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Word, are very important for junior high school students. On the other hand, at the same time, MSMEs in Muara Village face difficulties in attracting a large number of consumers to buy their products, especially using social media. This study aims to improve students' Microsoft Word skills and provide effective marketing strategies using social media services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The method used in this study is field training. All training participants are junior high school students and MSME collectors in the market. This training will discuss Computer skills further. This study is equipped with video documentation and presentations, as well as social media marketing strategies to increase product visibility. Data were collected through observation, interviewing and interviewing customers, conducting sales coefficient surveys before and after the training. The results of the study showed that students' skills in making more professional documents and efforts increased MSME sales by up to 30% in one month from the implementation of conducive marketing strategies. In conclusion, this study supports the important position of the interconnection between education and the business sector in increasing self-esteem, and provides insight into the benefits of skills training for students and small and medium enterprises in Muara Village.

Abstract

Money has been an integral part of human life since ancient times. In fulfilling human needs, money serves as the primary medium in economic transactions. The very important role of money encourages some individuals to seek illegal ways to obtain money, one of which is by counterfeiting Indonesian banknotes. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using graphonomy and ultraviolet light in proving the crime of counterfeiting Indonesian banknotes. The normative juridical method is used to address the issues being researched, and the data collection process is carried out through literature study. The combination of these two auxiliary sciences not only meets the requirements as valid evidence in the Indonesian criminal justice system but also provides strong scientific evidence to support the prosecutor's position in court. Thus, the integration of graphonomy and UV light significantly contributes to enhancing the accuracy of forgery detection, strengthening public trust in the authenticity of money, and supporting national efforts in combating currency counterfeiting.

Abstract

Pertanggungjawaban pidana tidak hanya berlaku bagi warga biasa, tetapi juga bagi aparat penegak hukum yang seharusnya menjadi pihak pertama yang menegakkan hukum dan memberi contoh yang baik bagi kelompok masyarakat. Rumusan masalah yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimana pertanggungjawaban pidana terhadap oknum polisi yang melakukan tindak pidana penipuan pengerjaan jalan di Kota Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah normatif empiris. Pengumpulan data yakni data primer serta data sekunder dengan sumber data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan Akademisi Bagian Pidana Fakultas Hukum Universitas Lampung, Akreditor Subbidwabprof Bidpropam Polda Lampung, serta Hakim Pengadilan Negeri Batang. Data sekunder diperoleh dari studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertanggungjawaban pidana terhadap oknum polisi yang melakukan tindak pidana penipuan dalam putusan Nomor: 45/Pid.B/2024/PN.Plg, sudah terbukti secara sah dan meyakinkan bersalah melaksanakan tindak pidana penipuan, telah memenuhi unsur pertanggungjawaban pidana serta sudah memenuhi unsur unsur penipuan dengan sudah terbukti secara sah dan meyakinkan bahwasannya terdakwa bisa dimintakan pertanggungjawaban pidana sesuai ketentuan Pasal 378 KUHP tentang penipuan dengan pidana penjara selama 2 (dua) tahun 8 (delapan) bulan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Sharia accounting understanding and the use of accounting applications on the quality of financial reporting preparation based on Sharia Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) at The National Board of Zakat (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional or BAZNAS) Lumajang. This research employs a quantitative method by collecting data through surveys and statistical analysis. The results indicate that Sharia accounting understanding significantly affects the quality of financial report preparation at BAZNAS. Furthermore, the use of accounting applications also has a significant impact on improving the quality of financial reporting preparation based on SFAS. These findings highlight the importance of Sharia accounting knowledge and technology utilization in enhancing financial reporting quality in zakat management institutions.

Abstract

The best instrument a communicator has for influencing the communicant is their communication style. The style of communication has grown increasingly important, especially for content creators, thanks to the advancement of information technology and the existence of social media, which makes it simpler for people to connect on a single platform. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication style of the Instagram account @ajobendri in providing parenting education. Primary data for this study came from observations made on the social media platform Instagram @ajobendri, as well as from pertinent books, journals, and findings from other studies. This research is a qualitative research using phenomenological methods. According to the findings of the study, the Norton concept of communication is dramatic, i.e., with sound play and diction, animated expressive, i.e., with facial expressions and gestures, open, i.e., with an attitude that encourages two-way communication, impression leaving, i.e., with the capacity to make an impression on his listeners, relaxed, i.e., with the capacity to be upbeat and friendly, and friendly.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world with high complication and mortality rates. Overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) is one of the mechanisms of breast cancer. Kilemo plant (Litsea cubeba) contains compounds such as naringenin, ellagic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, and syringic acid, which can inhibit the overexpression of HER2. This research is a preliminary study of the development of the plant as an anti-breast cancer natural drug candidate through a molecular docking study. The method used in the molecular docking of kilemo compounds with the protein kinase domain of human HER2. Firsly, the preparation of proteins and test ligands, followed by validation of the docking method with redocking. The compounds was testing the interaction of with proteins and analyzing and visualizing results using Autodock-4 and Biovia Discovery Studio, compounds was the evaluation of pharmacokinetic predictions. The results showed that the compounds contained have good affinity for the protein kinase domain of human HER2. Naringenin and ellagic acid have the best potential with the binding energy of -8.60 kcal/mol and -7.76 kcal/mol, with inhibition constants of 493.67 µM and 2.05 µM. Pharmacokinetic predictions of the six compounds fulfill the requirements of oral drug candidates. Although the binding affinity of all tested compounds were lower than lapatinib, but based on toxicity prediction, the compounds are not as hepatotoxic as Lapatinib. In conclusion, the plant has potential to be developed as a traditional medicine candidate for natural anti-breast cancer drugs that are safer than lapatinib.

Abstract

Uganda was one of the countries, which have received South Sudanese refugees since 2013. Since that period of time, South Sudanese refugee children in Uganda have faced challenges such as school dropouts, health issues, hunger, and family loss. Amid this crisis, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) intervened through Dubai Cares to support the rights of South Sudanese refugee children in Uganda through education program. The research employs a qualitative method by analyzing primary data from official government reports and websites, as well as secondary data from academic literature, reports, and online newspaper publications to examine the implementation of the Dubai Cares project for South Sudanese refugee children in Uganda. The concept of soft power is used to understand how the UAE leverages the Dubai Cares as a soft power instrument. Soft power concept serves to confirm that the UAE uses Dubai Cares to spread the country’s influence without resorting to coercive measures. The study finds that Dubai Cares enhances the UAE's attractiveness, reputation, and influence on the international stage through its educational programs for South Sudanese children in Uganda.
