Abstract

Leukemia is one type of cancer with a high mortality rate, caused by the proliferation of abnormal white blood cells that disrupt hematopoiesis function. Conventional therapies, such as chemotherapy and targeted therapy, often face challenges in the form of side effects and drug resistance. This study aims to evaluate the potential of Catharanthus roseus as a leukemia therapeutic agent through in silico. The docking process uses autodock, and ADMET prediction uses SwissADME and PKCMS. The study used the ABL1 protein (PDB ID: 4TWP) as a target with active compounds of Catharanthus roseus. The validation process of the docking method showed an RMSD value of 0.705 Å, indicating that the method used was valid. The results of the docking simulation showed that vindoline had the best affinity after native ligands with a binding energy of -8.64 kcal/mol, followed by catharanthine -6.16 kcal/mol and tryptophan -3.87 kcal/mol. ADMET prediction analysis showed that vindoline and catharanthine had promising pharmacokinetic and toxicity profiles, such as good blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and did not inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. These results indicate that vindoline and catharanthine are potential alternative leukemia treatments with high efficacy and low risk of side effects. This study provides a basis for further exploration of Catharanthus roseus in the development of effective and safe leukemia therapies.

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyses law enforcement against destructive fishing practices in Lampung waters and the factors that can hinder it. Methodology: The research used a normative juridical approach and was supported by an empirical juridical approach. Primary and secondary data were used. Primary data are sourced from interviews, and secondary data are sourced from books, research results, and journals. Results: The study found that law enforcement against destructive fishing in Lampung involves three stages: formulation through relevant laws; implementation by the police with pre-emptive, preventive, and repressive actions; and execution through the punishment of offenders. Obstacles to enforcement include weak legal frameworks, reliance on Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951, limited patrol boats, lack of forensic laboratories, and low public legal awareness. These challenges have contributed to the continued prevalence of destructive fishing and have hindered effective law enforcement. Limitations: This research is limited to law enforcement against destructive fishing practices in Lampung waters and the factors that hinder it. Contribution: This research can be an educational tool for analysing law enforcement against destructive fishing practices in Lampung waters and the factors that hinder it.

Abstract

Purpose: To purpose the non penal efforts in dealing with forest and land burning in Lampung Province. Methodology/approach: The methods used in this research are normative legal and empirical legal approaches, namely by conducting literature studies and field studies by seeking information through interviews. Result/findings: The findings show that based on data from the Lampung Regional Police (Polda), there have been no reports of forest and land fires in Lampung Province in recent years. However, data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry shows that forest and land fires still often occur in the region. Therefore, overcoming criminal acts of forest and land burning requires serious and integrated efforts from various authorized parties. Conclusions: karhutla control in Lampung Province through non-penal efforts focuses on preventive and educational steps, such as counseling, patrols, and monitoring of hotspots by the Lampung Police and the Forestry Service. Collaboration with local governments, NGOs, and the community is the main strategy in reducing the number of karhutla. Meanwhile, non-penal efforts face obstacles such as limited personnel, minimal facilities, low public awareness, and the habit of clearing land by burning. Therefore, synergy between various parties is needed to increase the effectiveness of forest and land fire prevention and control. Limitations: This research only analyzes non-penal efforts to prevent forest and land fires in Lampung based on data from relevant agencies, without discussing the effectiveness of criminal law enforcement or the long-term impact of policies, apart from that, differences in reports from various sources are a challenge in obtaining a completely accurate picture of forest and land fire incidents in Lampung. Contribution: Making a positive contribution to agencies involved in preventing forest and land fires, so that they can play a more active role in improving law enforcement and protecting the community in the future.

Abstract

Background. Career anxiety is a common psychological concern among vocational high school students who are preparing to transition into the workforce. This anxiety can be influenced by various factors, including self-doubt, fear of failure, and uncertainty about future employment opportunities. Psychological well-being plays a crucial role in how students cope with career-related stress. Therefore, psychoeducational interventions designed to enhance psychological well-being may be effective in reducing career anxiety, particularly when gender differences are taken into account. Purpose. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of psychological well-being psychoeducation in reducing career anxiety among vocational high school students. It also explored whether the intervention had different levels of effectiveness based on gender. Method. The study employed a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. Participants consisted of 100 vocational high school students (50 males and 50 females) from two different schools. The intervention group received psychological well-being psychoeducation over six sessions, focusing on self-acceptance, autonomy, purpose in life, positive relationships, personal growth, and environmental mastery. The career anxiety levels of all participants were measured before and after the intervention using a standardized career anxiety scale. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests and two-way ANOVA. Results. The results showed a significant reduction in career anxiety scores in the intervention group compared to the control group. Furthermore, female students demonstrated a greater decrease in anxiety levels than male students, suggesting that gender moderates the impact of psychological well-being psychoeducation on career-related stress. Conclusion. Psychoeducation focused on psychological well-being is effective in reducing career anxiety among vocational high school students. Gender differences in the outcomes highlight the need for tailored approaches in career counseling programs. Educational institutions are encouraged to incorporate structured psychoeducational modules to support students’ emotional and career readines.

Abstract

Advances in communication technology and social media have significantly transformed the travel industry, particularly through the emergence of travel influencers on a variety of social media platforms. Specifically, this study aims to identify the patterns of parasocial interactions between travel micro-influencers and their viewers on YouTube. Parasocial interaction is defined as one-sided interaction with media personalities during media exposure. The data were collected from YouTube’s travel videos about Yogyakarta as one of the most visited cities in Indonesia, which were produced by five Indonesian travel micro-influencers who have followers under 100.000. Using qualitative content analysis, the video content and comments were coded and examined. The findings reveal that micro-influencers create parasocial interaction patterns through several key aspects, including physical attractiveness, interpersonal communication skills, information sharing, destination appeal, production techniques, and confirmation. Meanwhile, the audience engages in a parasocial manner through expressions of admiration and appreciation, active involvement, interaction, emotional bonds, inspiration, and practical influence. Although the established interaction is primarily one-way, some of these interactions are reciprocal, such as when the influencers reply to the viewer's comments. This pattern of interaction demonstrates that YouTube serves as a platform for creating and maintaining parasocial relationships between viewers and influencers in addition to operating as a platform for content distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the accuracy of energy consumption prediction in the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) region by addressing multicollinearity among independent variables such as energy production (Mtoe), lignite coal production (million tons), crude oil production (million tons), refined oil production (million tons), natural gas production (billion cubic meters), and electricity production (terawatt-hours). By integrating Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with Random Forest (RF), six correlated variables were reduced into two uncorrelated principal components (PC1 and PC2), explaining 80.77% of the data variance. The PCA-RF hybrid model outperformed the standalone Random Forest (RF) model, with an increase in the coefficient of determination (R2) from 0.976 to 0.993. Additionally, it achieved significant reductions in error metrics, with the mean absolute error (MAE) decreasing from 5.811 to 4.169 and the root mean square error (RMSE) dropping from 9.278 to 4.786. These results demonstrate PCA’s effectiveness in isolating dominant drivers such as energy and lignite coal production while improving model stability. The framework provides policymakers with a reliable tool to forecast energy demand and align economic growth with sustainability in fossil fuel-dependent economies.

Abstract

The availability of high-quality feed is a crucial factor in supporting the productivity of beef cattle especially in areas with limited resources and seasonal fluctuations. Particularly during the dry season, the availability of green forage becomes limited and difficult to obtain. This community service activity aims to assist farmers in utilizing locally available materials as economical, nutritious, and sustainable alternative feed. The methods employed include extension, technical training, and hands-on practice in making silage from local ingredients such as Pennisetum purpureum, rice bran, and molasses. The activity was conducted at the Agricultural Extension Center in Waempubbu Village, Amali Subdistrict, Bone Regency, involving 38 livestock farmers representing farmer groups from across Amali Subdistrict. The results of the mentoring program showed an increase in farmers' knowledge and skills in formulating alternative feed. This activity is expected to strengthen feed security at the farmer level and serve as a sustainable empowerment model within smallholder livestock systems.
