Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mathematical connection skills and students' Self-Efficacy in learning mathematics. This study aims to examine the literature on mathematical connections and student Self-Efficacy through problem-based learning. Through a mathematical connection between material and other material, it is hoped that students can reach several aspects of problem-solving. Self-Efficacy is one of several character values that are cultivated in learning. To deal with a problem requires an attitude of confidence in one's abilities known as Self-Efficacy. This attitude can affect student motivation and performance in mathematics learning. Thus, mathematical connection ability and Self- Efficacy have an important role in mathematics learning. Data collection was carried out by reviewing research from experts in several journals. The data analysis technique was carried out qualitatively by quoting the appropriate opinions.

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has an impact on the provision of education. One of them is the process of online assessment or examination. Difficulties occur during online exams; weak supervision can increase cheating behavior among students. Generally, teachers or lecturers think about how to prevent this behavior. However, what if they are allowed to "cheat" on the exam? What do they think? This paper discusses students' perceptions when they were allowed to access various sources during online math exams. What benefits do they get?. The survey was conducted on 78 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program of UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The data obtained through a questionnaire were analyzed descriptively. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the students gave a positive response. The results of this study are expected to be a positive view of the weakness of supervision during online math exams, an idea/way to prevent cheating. In its application, both online learning and assessment, it is necessary to strengthen the character and self-concept of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of using Powtoon animation learning media for flat-sided geometry. The development model used is the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII-2 MTsS Syamsuddhuha (junior high religious school). The percentage results of product assessment by media experts are 96% in the very feasible category, the percentage result of product assessment by material experts is 92% in the very feasible category, and the percentage result of product assessment by 10 small group students is 94% in the very feasible category. Based on the results of the product assessment by all validators who stated that it was very feasible, the Powtoon animation learning media developed had meet the criteria for use for students. The effectiveness of using the product can be seen from the results of the comparison of the students' average pretest and posttest scores. The resulting product is effective in increasing the understanding of mathematical concepts, as evidenced by the average pretest score of 43,44, an increase in the posttest of 84,27, and the N-Gain value of 0,72 in the high category. It can be concluded that Powtoon animation learning media is feasible and effective to be used in improving the understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan ibu-ibu rumah tangga di desa Alue Dua Muka O, Kecamatan Idi Rayeuk, Kabupaten Aceh Timur, masih tergolong rendah. Dalam meningkatkan perekonomian maka dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat tentang pelatihan pembuatan produk olahan bakso dari ikan bandeng kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan olahan dari ikan Bandeng dengan mengembangkan usaha rumahan atau homemade pada ibu-ibu rumah tangga di desa Alue Dua Muka O. ikan bandeng yang digunakan adalah hasil tambak pada desa Alue Dua Muka O. proses pembuatan bakso ikan bandeng ini terdiri atas tahapan persiapan, alat, dan bahan. Metode yang diterapkan pada pelatihan ini adalah metode demonstrasi, pelatihan atau penyuluhan. Demonstrasi pengelolahan bakso ikan bandeng, dan pelatihan pengelolaan bakso ikan bandeng. Hasil dari kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan bakso ikan bandeng ini adalah ibu-ibu dan masyarakat desa yang dapat memahami produk olahan bakso ikan banden yang dapat dikembangkan menjadi usaha rumahang sehingga dapat mempunyai penghasilan tambahan. Dan juga dengan adanya tambak pada desa Alue Dua Muka O, dimana tambak tersebut adalah sumber mata penghasilan atau mata pencarian desa Alue Dua Muka O, maka dapat dimanfaatkan hasil tambak yang diolah dan dapat menambah ekonomi ibu-ibu dan masyarakat di desa Alue Dua Muka O.

Abstract

Coagulopathy is one of the complications of COVID-19 and is associated with a higher risk of mortality. However, evidence regarding the effectiveness and safety of anticoagulant therapy in various doses among COVID-19 patients is limited. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to review and explore the effect of using heparinoids as a systemic anticoagulant at prophylactic doses on mortality in COVID-19 patients. Systematic searches were conducted of various databases (Pubmed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Scopus, and ProQuest) covering the period 2019-2021. We assessed the quality of the articles using the STROBE checklist. Studies with a high risk of bias were excluded before pooled effect size was synthesized with 95% confidence intervals (CI) using random-effects models. From the 12 identified studies (N=8,968), six observational studies (N=7,176) were involved in the meta-analysis. The studies reviewed in the paper used a retrospective cohort design in various settings. The pooled effect size of mortality comparing prophylactic anticoagulant and no anticoagulant in three studies showed that there was an association between using prophylactic anticoagulant and a lower risk of in-hospital mortality (pooled OR= 0.47; 95% CI 0.19-0.76). A prophylactic dose of heparinoid anticoagulant was also associated with lower mortality (pooled OR= 0.51; 95% CI 0.21-0.82) and with lower bleeding events compared to intermediate-to-therapeutic dose anticoagulants. Administration of heparinoid anticoagulants at prophylactic doses was associated with reduced mortality risk in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Due to the increased risk of bleeding with therapeutic doses, the use of prophylaxis anticoagulant is suggested in COVID-19 patients who are not critically ill.

Abstract

Introduction. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the most prevalent head and neck malignancy in Indonesia, as NPC-related mortality in Indonesia is the second-highest in Asia after China. Inflammation has been studied to be associated with cancer progression. Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio describes the balance between the unfavorable suppression of immune response against cancer by neutrophils and the beneficial effect of adaptive immunity by lymphocytes. This study aimed to determine the relationship between NLR and the survival of locally advanced and advanced NPC patients.Methods. A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the medical records of NPC patients treated at the hematology clinic RSCM from 2015 to 2018. The difference in 3-year survival between NPC patients with and without metastasis, also high and low NLR, was analyzed with the Kaplan-Meier method. At the same time, multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to obtain adjusted hazard ratios (HR) after comparing with patients’ age, gender, T stage, N stage, NLR level, and metastasis status.Results. There were 143 patients included in this study; a total of 49 (34.3%) had metastasis. There was a significant difference in survival between those with and without metastasis (p=0.001), with 3-year survival of 24.5% in patients with metastasis. The AUC of NLR was 0.600 (CI 95% 0.502—0.698; p=0.049). The optimal cut-off value determined for NLR was 4.7 with a sensitivity of 56.00%, specificity of 62.37%, PPV of 59.81%, and NPV of 58.64% in predicting survival. Based on that value (≥4,7), there was a significant difference in proportion between those with and without metastasis (63.3% vs. 33.0%, p=0.001). Multivariateanalysis showed that metastasis (HR 3.349, CI 95% 1.909—5.874, p<0.001) was associated with poorer survival.Conclusions. There was no association between NLR and 3-year survival in NPC patients. The proportion of subjects with high NLR was found higher in those with metastasis. Metastasis status was associated with 3-year survival.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the principles of politeness in speech behavior of employees and customers of Bank Sumsel Babel, a sub-branch of Keluang of Musi Banyuasin Regency. Research by descriptive qualitative methods. The method of data collection in this study is observation, record, record. Data analysis techniques were performed by translating and analyzing the recorded data into written form. Among the findings on employee and customer speech behavior in business interactions is the principle of politeness in speech, which is governed by the maxim of wisdom and the maxim of generosity.

Contrastive analysis of Musi language pronouns with Indonesian is the activity of comparing elements contained in two or more languages to find out the similarities and differences of these elements. The problem in this study is how to analyze the contrastive pronouns of the Musi language with Indonesian. Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Talang Kelapa by using the Problem Based Learning model. In this study, data collection used test techniques. This is evident from the calculation of student learning data using the t-test contained in the SPSS V26 program. Through the calculations that have been carried out on the t-test the significant value obtained is 0.917 which means that the significant value is > 0.05. The average value in the experimental class was 97 and the control class was 85. Calculation of the hypothesis using the t-test (Independent sample test) formula, namely tcount = 1.334 > tcount 1.332 with df 29. Thus Ho is rejected and Ho is accepted. So the researchers came to the conclusion that "The Problem Base Learning Model on the Ability to Identify Dramatic Elements of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 2 Talang Kelapa Has an Influence". Abstract

Kota akan mengalami masalah jika pertumbuhan penduduk tidak sejalan dengan perencanaan ruang dan transportasi yang baik sehingga menimbulkan permasalahan seperti kemacetan, urban sprawl, dan degradasi lingkungan. Namun, permasalahan tersebut dapat dicegah dengan perencanaan yang saling terintegrasi antara ruang dan transportasi, seperti pendekatan Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesesuaian kawasan halte Trans Koetaradja Koridor 3A yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai kawasan TOD berdasarkan aspek density yang diukur berdasarkan perhitungan variabel kepadatan lahan bangunan dan kepadatan penduduk. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode pengolahan data analisis spasial dan skoring. Kedua sub-variabel ini digunakan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kepadatan kawasan transit halte trans koetaradja Koridor 3A. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pada kawasan transit halte koridor 3A memiliki tingkat kesesuaian density 23%. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa pada segmen 1 yaitu di Jl. Sultan Alaidin Mahmudsyah dan segmen 2 di Jalan Teuku Umar telah memenuhi salah satu prinsip TOD pada aspek kepadatan penduduk dan kepadatan lahan bangunan. Kawasan transit yang memiliki kepadatan lahan bangunan tinggi berada pada Gampong Setui dan Gampong Suka Ramai. Sementara itu, kepadatan yang rendah berada di kawasan pinggiran kota yaitu pada kawasan Mata Ie.
