Abstract

The rapid development of science in the contemporary era demands a deep understanding of its philosophical foundations. This article aims to examine the foundations of scientific development from the perspective of the philosophy of science by analyzing its ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature review of classical and contemporary philosophy of science texts. The results of the study indicate that the ontological foundation provides an understanding of the nature of the reality studied by science, the epistemological foundation governs the way to acquire valid knowledge, while the axiological foundation determines the values and objectives of scientific development. These three foundations are interconnected and form a comprehensive framework for the responsible development of science. This research reveals that the integration of these three philosophical dimensions is essential to produce knowledge that is not only methodologically valid but also socially and ethically meaningful. The practical implication is the need for a holistic approach in scientific research that considers philosophical aspects alongside technical-methodological ones.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy at Imam Bonjol State Islamic University (UIN) Padang as part of the State Islamic Religious Universities (PTKIN). This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results showed that the implementation of MBKM at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang is still limited to the administrative level. Student exchange programmes abroad have not been implemented, internship programmes across departments have not been structured, and there are a number of obstacles such as differences in regulations between institutions, unsynchronised course offerings, low student interest, and lack of information and socialisation. Although there is a policy framework and cooperation documents between PTKIN, the implementation is still not optimal. This study recommends the need to strengthen socialisation, harmonise regulations, and actively involve the entire academic community to support the success of the MBKM program at PTKIN.

Abstract

The quality of scientific writing is an important indicator in the development of a scientific discipline, including Islamic Education. This study aims to analyze the role of philosophy of science as a framework in improving the quality of scientific writing in Islamic Education. Using a library research approach, this study examines literature related to the philosophy of science, Islamic epistemology, and the problems of academic writing in Islamic Education. The results of the study indicate that the role of philosophy of science in research and scientific writing in Islamic Education is very fundamental. Ontology plays a role in determining the focus of research and the definition of variables to be analyzed, epistemology serves as a foundation that allows research to proceed systematically and produce valid and measurable scientific work, and axiology serves as a reference for values in writing scientific papers. Axiology also prevents researchers from plagiarism, misinterpretation, and misuse of research results. By consistently applying the three pillars of philosophy of science, scientific works in Islamic education will be more valid, ethical, and make a real contribution to the development of science and educational practice.

Abstract

The Integrated Islamic Elementary School curriculum is considered exclusive, such as rejecting the ideology of other religions, claims of separation between Islam and the state and even believing in the government's evil conspiracy. Eradication of radicalism in schools is intended to narrow the space for movement, therefore the role of Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools (IIES) is very important in breaking away from the notion of radicalism. This study was conducted to answer the question of how the strategy of an integrated Islamic elementary school in integrating the curriculum, extracurricular activities, environmental creation and other activities to prevent radicalism is carried out. This is qualitative research with principals, teachers and students as the subject of documentation studies, and interviews, while data analysis is carried out with the stages of reduction, exploration, verification and contextualization of data. The four strategies for routine, spontaneous and exemplary activities to prevent radicalism are carried out by strengthening character and integrating activities with learning activities, nurturing and habituation in the form of worship activities, order, neatness and cleanliness, eating and drinking. drinking, social behavior. So it can be concluded that there is no indication of the strengthening of radical ideology in IIES West Sumatra

Abstract

During the colonial period, education must have been very difficult to get, because the colonizers who were in power at that time did not want education to reach the indigenous people. The Islamic education system during the Japanese occupation was basically the same as the Islamic education system in the Dutch era, namely in addition to the pesantren education system established by traditional scholars, there was also a classical education system as seen in madrasas. The Dutch have colonized Indonesia for centuries. And during the Dutch colonial period, access to Islamic education was very difficult because Dutch education was more dominant in non-Islamic education. While Japan actually gave relief to Islamic education in Indonesia, it was precisely the waiver from Japan that made Japan withdraw from Indonesia. The research method used in this study is a Literature Study that collects data from various written sources. This research aims to find out the cases of political policies related to Islamic Education in Indonesia during the Dutch and Japanese colonial periods.

Abstract

Islamization emerged because of the concerns of Muslim intellectuals who saw that Muslims were in crisis due to the application of secular-based Western science. The secular concept of science is not suitable for Muslims because it separates religion from science. So far, Islam is believed to have a very important role in coloring the building of science. However, in reality, Muslim society seems to be forced to implement secular teachings in life because of the rapid flow of secularization. This condition is a concern for Islamic thinkers, because it could endanger Islamic faith. Thus, a critical opinion emerged from a Muslim scholar who came up with the idea of the Islamization of science, namely Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syad Naquib Al-Attas. Both of them saw that the phenomenon of scientific development had deviated from Islamic teachings. So that it has the impact of someone becoming secular. This research aims to discuss the Islamization of science according to the thoughts of Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syad Naquib Al-Attas. The method used in this research is a research library, by collecting previous articles and sources. The results of this research reveal that Al-Faruqi and Al-Attas have similarities in their thinking, namely that they both think that the main problem of the Muslim crisis is science developed by the West.
