Abstract

In ruminant livestock, it is very important to pay attention to the adequacy of micro minerals and vitamins, considering that minerals and vitamins are absolute and must be present in the feed so that the health and productivity of the livestock is not disturbed. To produce quality semen, vitamin E, selenium and zinc are needed. These micronutrients play a role in the spermatogenesis process which will have an impact on the quality of spermatozoa produced by male livestock. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of supplementation of micronutrient on sperm movement pattern of Bali bull. This study was used two Bali bull aged 4-5 years with a body weight of 300-350 kg. The study was divided into two periods of treatments and each period was carried out for three weeks. In the first period (control), experimental Bali bull was fed natural grasses and concentrate (1% of body weight). Furthermore, in the second period (treatment period), the feed was similar as the first period with the addition of a mixture of minerals (Zn and Se) and vitamin E. The volume, color, pH, viscosity and movement pattern of the bull's sperm were recorded. Likewise, sperm concentration, motility, viability and abnormality were measured. Fresh semen was diluted with Andromed® accordingly before subsequent processing. Data were analyzed using paired student t-test. The results of the study showed that the macroscopic quality of fresh semen of Bali bull improved after supplementation of micronutrient. The movement pattern of spermatozoa after administration of micronutrient supplements did not have a significant effect (P>0.05). It can be concluded that micronutrient supplementation in Bali bulls can improve macroscopic evaluation, abnormality, viability, concentration and maintained spermatozoa movement patterns. Keywords: Bali bull, spermatozoa, micronutrient, semen quality, and movement

Abstract

Agroforestry management in dry land in Dompu Regency is important and strategic in efforts to improve resource sustainability and community welfare, namely by combining forestry and agricultural elements to create a sustainable and adaptive farming system to environmental changes. This paper aims to: (1) describe the concept and role of agroforestry in dry land farming; (2) analyze agroforestry management in realizing a sustainable farming system in Dompu Regency from an ontology perspective, and (3) analyze agroforestry models that can be developed in dry land farming in Dompu Regency. The method used in this study is a literature review: Data is analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that: (1) Agroforestry is an integrated land management approach that integrates elements of forestry, agriculture, and livestock in one system to produce ecological and economic benefits simultaneously. (2) The application of agroforestry in Dompu Regency requires a multidimensional approach based on a comprehensive ontological understanding, covering physical and biological aspects, time dynamics, socio-economics, as well as axiological and epistemological dimensions; and (3) Several agroforestry models that have the potential to be developed in the dry land areas of Dompu Regency include: alley cropping (alley planting), silvopasture (combining trees and livestock), multistrata (tiered) systems, and intensive yard gardens. The selection of the right model must be adjusted to the biophysical characteristics of the land, the socio-economic conditions of the community, and the capacity of local institutions so that its implementation can run optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

This study analyses the difference in Trading Volume Activity (TVA) of issuers involved in the Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) development before and after Indonesia's 2024 presidential election. Using an event study approach, observations were made over 10 days before and after the election. The research used secondary quantitative data, including stock trading volume, number of shares outstanding, daily closing prices, and the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG). A purposive sampling method was used to select 62 issuers. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test with SPSS 21 was applied to test the hypothesis. Results show a significant difference in TVA, indicating a positive capital market response to the 2024 election, suggesting high information content. Future research should consider a larger sample, more complex analysis, and a shorter observation period (e.g., 5 days) to minimise non-political influences such as dividends or stock splits. Investors are advised to consider issuer-specific factors and not rely solely on political events, as not all events provide strong decision-making signals. Abstract

Language functions as a tool for communication between humans, allowing them to express their thoughts and intentions. Language also evolves due to interactions between neighboring languages, and this is true for Arabic as well. The evolution of Arabic includes the incorporation of new vocabulary through the process of borrowing, which is often referred to as Arabization. Therefore, this study explores Arabization with the aim of identifying the forms of Arabization and the languages from which the borrowed words originate. This research focuses particularly on newspapers, as they play a significant role in introducing new vocabulary through their reporting. News about war and political conflicts frequently captures global attention, especially regarding the conflicts in the Middle East. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. The primary data sources are three online newspapers from the Middle East: As-Syarq (Qatar), Al-Ittihad (UAE), and SabaNet (Yemen). The findings indicate that Arabization occurs through several methods, including Iqtibas Al-Lafdzi (literal borrowing), translation, and derivation. A total of 54 instances of Arabization using the Iqtibas Al-Lafdzi method and 6 instances using translation were identified in the war and political reporting of the three newspapers (As-Syarq, Al-Ittihad, and SabaNet) between November 1–10, 2023. The study found nine source languages: Greek, Latin, English, Persian, French, Russian, Japanese, Hebrew, and Syriac.
