Abstract

This study aims to explore continuous improvement strategies in enhancing the quality of learning at SDN 004 Bontang Barat. Using a qualitative approach supported by descriptive data, the research identifies key factors influencing learning quality, implementation of continuous improvement strategies, implementation challenges, and stakeholder involvement. The findings show that strategies such as improving teacher competence, strengthening school management, integrating technology, upgrading infrastructure, and fostering collaboration with parents and the community have a positive impact on learning effectiveness. However, challenges such as limited resources, resistance to change, and lack of policy support must be addressed systematically. This study recommends fostering a reflective and evaluative school culture, visionary leadership, and sustained support from all stakeholders to achieve optimal learning quality. The continuous improvement strategies implemented at SDN 004 Bontang Barat demonstrate the importance of a holistic approach to enhancing learning quality. By addressing multiple aspects such as teacher competence, school management, technology integration, and community engagement, the school has created a more conducive environment for effective learning.

Abstract

The era of digitalization of education demands a solid quality assurance system to ensure that the use of technology as a learning medium can run effectively and optimally. This study aims to analyze in depth how the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) are applied in the use of Chromebooks as a learning medium in the SMPN 1 Anggana environment. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, where data is collected through three main techniques: participatory observation of teaching and learning activities, in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and student representatives, and documentation studies of learning planning and evaluation reports. The main findings in the field indicate that the principles of TQM have been internalized in the school culture, as evidenced by a strong commitment from management for continuous improvement, active participation of all school residents, and the existence of a periodic evaluation mechanism. However, its implementation still faces significant challenges, especially the limited number of devices and unstable internet network access. This study concludes that although the commitment to high quality is there, its success is still constrained by technical factors. Therefore, it is recommended to strengthen ICT infrastructure, improve teachers' digital competence through training, and involve students in evaluation to support a superior technology-based education ecosystem. ABSTRAKEra digitalisasi pendidikan menuntut adanya sistem penjaminan mutu yang kokoh untuk memastikan pemanfaatan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran dapat berjalan secara efektif dan optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam bagaimana prinsip-prinsip Manajemen Mutu Terpadu (Total Quality Management/TQM) diterapkan dalam pemanfaatan Chromebook sebagai media pembelajaran di lingkungan SMPN 1 Anggana. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui tiga teknik utama: observasi partisipatif pada kegiatan belajar-mengajar, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, dan perwakilan siswa, serta studi dokumentasi terhadap perencanaan dan laporan evaluasi pembelajaran. Temuan utama di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa prinsip TQM telah terinternalisasi dalam budaya sekolah, yang dibuktikan melalui komitmen kuat dari pihak manajemen untuk perbaikan berkelanjutan, partisipasi aktif seluruh warga sekolah, serta adanya mekanisme evaluasi periodik. Kendati demikian, implementasinya masih menghadapi tantangan signifikan, terutama keterbatasan jumlah perangkat dan akses jaringan internet yang kurang stabil. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun komitmen terhadap mutu tinggi sudah ada, keberhasilannya masih terkendala oleh faktor teknis. Oleh karena itu, direkomendasikan adanya penguatan sarana prasarana TIK, peningkatan kompetensi digital guru melalui pelatihan, serta pelibatan siswa dalam evaluasi untuk mendukung ekosistem pendidikan berbasis teknologi yang unggul.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan soal pilihan ganda berbasis literasi matematika pada materi pola bilangan kelas VIII siswa SMP Negeri 16 Samarinda. Penelitian pengembangan ini dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 35 siswa dan objek penelitiannya adalah instrumen soal pilihan ganda berbasis literasi matematika pada pola bilangan. Proses pengembangan soal pilihan ganda berbasis literasi matematika ini melalui model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui penilaian angket tiga validator ahli materi dan tes soal pilihan ganda berjumlah 14 butir soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah menghitung persentase penilaian angket validator dan analisis butir soal pilihan ganda, meliputi 1) indeks kesukaran, 2) daya pembeda, 3) reliabilitas, 4) validitas, dan 5) distraktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga ahli materi menilai 3 ranah penilaian yang menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pada penilaian ranah materi adalah sebesar 87% dengan kategori sangat layak, ranah konstruksi sebesar 93% dengan kategori sangat layak, dan ranah bahasa sebesar 84% dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji analisis butir soal didapatkan: 1) indeks kesukaran soal sebanyak 3 soal mudah, 9 soal sedang, dan  2 soal sukar; 2) daya pembeda sebanyak 1 dari 14 soal dinyatakan untuk dibuang; 3) reliabilitas soal sebesar 0,74 dengan kategori tinggi; 4) validitas soal menunjukkan terdapat 3 soal yang tidak valid; dan 5) distractor soal menunjukkan bahwa distraktor C pada butir soal nomor 7 direvisi dan distraktor D pada butir soal nomor 3 dinyatakan tidak efektif karena kurang dari 5% dan dilakukan revisi. Diharapkan penelitian berikutnya bisa melanjutkan hingga diperoleh soal pilihan ganda literasi matematika hasil pengembangan yang efektif dan praktis.

Abstract

Manajemen Kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan kepala sekolah telah banyak dikaji dalam berbagai konteks pendidikan, tetapi masih minim penelitian yang membahas implementasinya di sekolah yang berada di lingkungan hutan tropis lembab. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen kepala sekolah dalam peningkatan kinerja guru melalui kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan di sekolah dasar lingkungan hutan tropis lembab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di sekolah dasar yang berada di lingkungan hutan tropis lembab mencakup empat aspek utama. 1) Perencanaan saat memberikan kebebasan guru dalam menyusun strategi pembelajaran, mendukung pengembangan kompetensi melalui pelatihan, serta mempertimbangkan pemanfaatan teknologi dan kondisi alam. 2). Pengorganisasian dalam pembentukan komunitas belajar (kombel) dan kelompok kerja guru (KKG), kolaborasi dengan masyarakat, serta upaya mengatasi keterbatasan fasilitas melalui pengajuan bantuan. 3). Pelaksanaan mencakup penerapan workshop, pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal, pemanfaatan teknologi, serta kebijakan pembelajaran mandiri saat terjadi banjir. 4). Pengawasan dilakukan melalui pemantauan berkelanjutan, evaluasi rutin, motivasi dalam peningkatan kinerja guruTemuan ini menegaskan pentingnya kepemimpinan transformasional dan pelayanan kepala sekolah dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang kondusif dan meningkatkan kinerja guru.

Abstract: The demand to improve the quality of education at the elementary and junior high school levels has made teacher work effectiveness a critical indicator of institutional success. In this context, the principal's leadership and the workload faced by teachers are dominant factors influencing their motivation and performance. Principals who apply servant leadership are believed to be capable of creating a supportive and collaborative work environment, thereby potentially increasing teachers' motivation and work effectiveness. However, on the other hand, the high workload serves as a serious obstacle that can reduce teacher enthusiasm. This study aims to determine how servant leadership and workload affect teacher work effectiveness, both directly and indirectly, through work motivation as an intervening variable. This research is limited to elementary and junior high school teachers in Kaubun District. It employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consists of all elementary and junior high school teachers in Kaubun District, totaling 207 teachers. The sample was determined using proportionate random sampling based on the Slovin formula, resulting in 137 respondents. Data analysis tools included SPSS and the Sobel calculator to test the intervening variable. The findings reveal that servant leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher work effectiveness (0.174), while workload has a significant negative effect (-0.325). The indirect influence tested using the Sobel calculator shows that work motivation mediates the effect of servant leadership and workload on teacher work effectiveness. The significance values for the mediation of servant leadership and workload through work motivation were both 0.000 (Path I and Path II), indicating that work motivation successfully mediates these effects. The conclusion of this study is that servant leadership directly has a positive effect on teacher work effectiveness, while workload directly has a negative effect. Indirectly, work motivation is able to mediate the influence of both servant leadership and workload on teacher work effectiveness. Digital transformation in the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) at higher education institutions has become a strategic step to enhance the effectiveness of internal quality audits (IQA). This research aims to analyze the implementation of a digital-based IQAS information system at Mulawarman University and assess its impact on the effectiveness of internal quality audit implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in the form of a case study, with data collection techniques including interviews, documentation, and observation. The results show that the developed cloud-based spreadsheet information system has improved timeliness, transparency, efficiency, and participation of work units in the IQA process. The digitalized audit process facilitates collaboration between auditors and auditees, supports document tracking, and speeds up decision-making. Although the system is not yet fully automated, this implementation has reinforced a data-driven quality culture and sustainability. The main recommendation from this study is the development of an integrated web application system, enhanced user training, and further studies to evaluate the long-term impact on institutional quality. These findings contribute theoretically to the literature on the digitization of education quality and offer practical benefits for strengthening quality management policies in higher education institutions.

Abstract

The principal’s leadership strategy in building collaboration is a series of planned and structured steps taken by the principal to encourage, empower, and unite the school, parents, and the community to actively participate in the educational process at school. This study aims to identify and analyze the principal’s leadership strategies in building effective collaboration between the school, parents, and the community at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muslimin Indonesia Center (MIC) Samarinda City. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that: (1) The principal implements adaptive and participatory leadership strategies, such as establishing open communication, holding regular meetings, and involving parents and the community in decision-making and school program implementation. (2) The obstacles and challenges faced include a lack of awareness and time from parents, minimal two-way communication, and limited community resources. (3) To overcome these obstacles, the principal conducts communication initiatives, designs attractive collaborative programs, and provides training for parents and the community to better understand their important role in education. (4) The principal also optimizes the role of parents and the community by empowering them in various school activities. The conclusion of this study is that effective and contextual leadership strategies have proven capable of building a solid partnership between the school, parents, and the community, thus contributing positively to improving the quality of learning and strengthening students’ character. Strong collaboration among these three parties is essential to support the improvement of education quality and the holistic development of students. However, the involvement of parents and the community in school activities remains low and is not yet optimally structured, thus requiring the active role of the principal as a leader and facilitator

Abstract

Strategic management of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) is a quality control approach that emphasizes active participation, collaboration, and creativity of group members in systematically and continuously solving quality problems to achieve improvements in work quality and organizational productivity. The QCC is responsible for carrying out the quality assurance process, primarily through monitoring, evaluation, and control of the implementation of education and teaching, with the main objective of achieving the quality standards set by the educational institution. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the management strategy of the Quality Control Circle (QCC) in optimizing the preparation for study program accreditation at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda. The research focuses on four managerial aspects: planning, organizing, implementation, and supervision in the context of quality improvement through the QCC strategy. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving relevant parties, such as faculty leaders, lecturers, and the QCC team. The results of the study show that: 1) The QCC strategy in preparing for accreditation at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda begins with planning based on SWOT analysis, resulting in a targeted work plan for improving the quality of the study program. 2) Organization is carried out participatively with a clear structure, involving lecturers, staff, and students according to their competencies. 3) Implementation has proven effective through improvements in learning quality, utilization of technology, and the involvement of all faculty elements, which are evaluated using the PPEPP cycle and accreditation achievement indicators. 4) Supervision is conducted through regular evaluation, internal quality audits, and follow-up actions, ensuring that the QCC strategy remains adaptive to changing standards and is able to address the challenges of educational quality in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative method, selected because it allows an in-depth exploration of the collaboration between vocational education and the shipping industry from multiple perspectives. Data collection through interviews, observations, and document analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the processes, experiences, and challenges involved in enhancing the internship competencies of shipping students at SMK Negeri 8 Samarinda. This approach is well-suited to capturing the complex interactions and dynamic relationships between the school and industry partners in real-world settings. The findings reveal a strong, collaborative framework where school leaders, teachers, and industry representatives work closely to design and implement an internship program that integrates both technical skills and essential soft skills required in maritime careers. The curriculum is regularly updated to align with national and international standards, and students receive preparatory training and certifications to ensure industry readiness. Supervision and mentoring during internships foster the development of skills and professionalism. Importantly, the dual evaluation system involving both the school and industry partners provides ongoing, actionable feedback that supports continuous program improvement. This study uniquely contributes by offering a detailed account of a successful, synergistic collaboration model specifically tailored to vocational maritime education, addressing a gap in prior research that often generalizes education-industry partnerships. It highlights the integration of soft skills within technical training and emphasizes the value of collaborative program evaluation, which together significantly enhance student competence and preparedness for the maritime workforce. By documenting these innovative practices in the Indonesian vocational education context, this research provides valuable insights and a replicable model for other maritime schools aiming to improve internship effectiveness through meaningful industry collaboration
