Abstract

The transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vocational High Schools (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/SMK) has become a strategic agenda in responding to changing workforce competency demands driven by digitalization, automation, and industrial dynamics. However, various vocational education innovations formulated through national policies are not always optimally implemented at the school level. This study aims to analyze the transformation of SMKs from a diffusion of innovations perspective by examining the types of innovations that have emerged, patterns of adoption within educational institutions, and factors influencing the success and constraints of their implementation. The study employs a qualitative approach through a targeted literature review and policy document analysis, which are thematically synthesized to identify general trends and dynamics in the adoption of vocational education innovations. The findings indicate that SMK transformation occurs in the form of innovation packages encompassing the strengthening of link and match, the implementation of teaching factory models, industry-based project learning, competency certification, and the digitalization of learning. Innovation adoption tends to be partial and gradual due to differences in human resource readiness, infrastructure availability, the quality of industry partnerships, and change management at the school level. Innovations are adopted more rapidly when their benefits are directly perceived, aligned with the practical culture of SMKs, trialable on a limited scale, and easily observable in their outcomes. This study concludes that accelerating TVET transformation in SMKs requires diffusion strategies oriented toward strengthening teacher capacity, systematic change management, and the development of sustainable school–industry networks. ABSTRAKTransformasi Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (PTK) pada Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) menjadi agenda strategis dalam merespons perubahan kebutuhan kompetensi dunia kerja yang dipicu oleh digitalisasi, otomasi, dan dinamika industri. Namun, berbagai inovasi pendidikan vokasi yang dirancang melalui kebijakan nasional tidak selalu terimplementasi secara optimal di tingkat sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis transformasi SMK melalui perspektif difusi inovasi dengan menelaah bentuk inovasi yang berkembang, pola adopsi di satuan pendidikan, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keberhasilan dan hambatan implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui kajian literatur terarah dan analisis dokumen kebijakan, yang disintesis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi kecenderungan umum dan dinamika adopsi inovasi pendidikan vokasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa transformasi SMK berlangsung dalam bentuk paket inovasi yang mencakup penguatan link and match, penerapan teaching factory, pembelajaran berbasis proyek industri, sertifikasi kompetensi, serta digitalisasi pembelajaran. Pola adopsi inovasi cenderung bersifat parsial dan bertahap akibat perbedaan kesiapan sumber daya manusia, ketersediaan infrastruktur, kualitas kemitraan industri, serta tata kelola perubahan di tingkat sekolah. Inovasi lebih cepat diadopsi ketika manfaatnya dirasakan secara langsung, selaras dengan kultur praktik SMK, dapat diuji coba dalam skala terbatas, dan hasilnya mudah diamati. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa percepatan transformasi PTK di SMK memerlukan strategi difusi inovasi yang berorientasi pada penguatan kapasitas pendidik, pengelolaan perubahan yang sistematis, serta pengembangan jejaring sekolah–industri yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vocational education opens up transformative opportunities to develop 21st-century skills, especially critical thinking and problem-solving, which are key competencies for prospective professionals in the automotive sector. This study examines the effectiveness of using AI (Claude and Pollo AI) through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of automotive engineering students in the Vehicle Motion Mechanics course. The study, using a pre-experimental intact group comparison design, involved 37 third-semester students, consisting of an experimental group () and a control group (). The experimental group learned using AI-based PjBL, while the control group received conventional Discovery Learning. Data were collected through validated analytical rubrics and analyzed using an independent samples t-test and effect size. The results showed that the experimental group obtained a much higher critical thinking score (M = 82.45; SD = 6.23) compared to the control group (M = 71.33; SD = 7.89), . Similar improvements were also found in problem-solving skills (M = 84.12; SD = 5.87 vs. M = 69.78; SD = 8.45), , which indicates a strong practical impact. These findings confirm that the integration of AI through PjBL effectively strengthens critical thinking and problem-solving skills in automotive vocational education, while providing empirical evidence to drive technology-based engineering learning transformation.

Abstract

Teaching Factory (TEFA) is a production-based learning model that integrates industry competencies into the learning process in vocational schools. This study aims to analyze the inhibiting factors for establishing a Teaching Factory in the Design Modeling and Building Information (DPIB) expertise concentration at SMKN 4 Palembang. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Research subjects included the Head of DPIB Expertise Concentration, 8 productive teachers, 1 toolman, and school policy documents. The results show five main categories of inhibiting factors: (1) Technical constraints in the form of limited quantities and adequate computer specifications for BIM applications, as well as limited industrial software licenses; (2) HR constraints with teacher competencies who have not mastered integrated BIM workflows and limited numbers of certified construction teachers; (3) Managerial constraints include the lack of a TEFA Core Team and difficulties in integrating learning schedules with TEFA projects; (4) Financial constraints with an initial investment budget gap of IDR 300,000,000 exceeding routine school fund allocations; (5) Industry collaboration constraints in the form of difficulties in building consistent formal partnerships for TEFA projects. This study recommends establishing a TEFA Core Team, improving teacher competence through BIM training, applying for funding through the SMK PK program or corporate CSR, and strengthening partnerships with local consultants and contractors. Keywords: Teaching Factory, DPIB, Vocational School, Inhibiting Factors, BIM.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership on teacher innovation in the use of simple digital learning technologies at SMAN 2 Sipora. As a school located in an island region, teachers face resource constraints, but the presence of digital platforms such as Google Classroom, Canva Edu, and Quizizz provides opportunities for more innovative learning. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational design and involved 35 teachers selected through total sampling. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using Pearson's correlation and simple linear regression. The results showed that transformational leadership had a positive and significant relationship with teacher innovation, as indicated by a correlation ue of 0.399. The regression model produced the equation Y = 24.43 + 0.40X, which shows that an increase in transformational leadership is followed by an increase in teacher innovation. These findings emphasize the importance of leadership support and the use of simple digital technology in encouraging innovative learning practices. This study recommends strengthening transformational leadership competencies and increasing access to technology as efforts to improve teacher innovation. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap inovasi guru dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran digital sederhana di SMAN 2 Sipora. Sebagai sekolah yang berada di wilayah kepulauan, guru menghadapi keterbatasan sumber daya, namun hadirnya platform digital seperti Google Classroom, Canva Edu, dan Quizizz memberikan peluang bagi terciptanya pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan melibatkan 35 guru yang dipilih melalui teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner skala Likert, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan korelasi Pearson dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan inovasi guru, ditunjukkan oleh nilai korelasi sebesar 0,399. Model regresi menghasilkan persamaan Y = 24,43 + 0,40X yang menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kepemimpinan transformasional diikuti oleh peningkatan inovasi guru. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan kepemimpinan serta pemanfaatan teknologi digital sederhana dalam mendorong praktik pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan kompetensi kepemimpinan transformasional dan peningkatan akses teknologi sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan inovasi guru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menelusuri arah perkembangan, kecenderungan, serta kesenjangan dalam studi yang berfokus pada pengembangan bahan ajar interaktif berbasis web bagi guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) selama periode 2015–2025. Kajian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan guru SMK dalam menerapkan teknologi digital secara optimal dalam proses pembelajaran, padahal tuntutan terhadap bahan ajar interaktif semakin meningkat seiring percepatan transformasi pendidikan vokasi di era industri 4.0. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan mengacu pada panduan PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) serta model kerja Kitchenham & Charters (2007). Sebanyak 78 artikel ilmiah berhasil diidentifikasi dari berbagai basis data bereputasi seperti Scopus, Sinta, Google Scholar, DOAJ, ScienceDirect, dan SpringerLink. Setelah melalui tahap seleksi ketat, 20 artikel dipilih untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut menggunakan pendekatan analisis tematik dan sintesis kualitatif.Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan adanya tiga pola dominan, yaitu: (1) peralihan fokus dari sekadar pembuatan media pembelajaran statis menuju penerapan model pembelajaran digital yang lebih adaptif berbasis teori TPACK dan konstruktivisme; (2) peningkatan efektivitas penerapan pembelajaran berbasis web terhadap motivasi, partisipasi aktif, dan capaian hasil belajar siswa SMK; serta (3) peningkatan kemampuan literasi digital guru dalam merancang serta mengimplementasikan bahan ajar interaktif secara mandiri. Selain itu, hasil analisis juga mengungkapkan masih terdapat kesenjangan penelitian pada ranah teoritis, pendekatan metodologis, serta konteks geografis, terutama dalam bidang vokasional non-teknik yang masih kurang terwakili.Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan bahan ajar interaktif berbasis web memiliki peran strategis dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran vokasi serta memberikan kontribusi nyata bagi penguatan landasan teoretis dan kebijakan pengembangan kompetensi digital guru SMK. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi penting untuk penelitian empiris berikutnya sekaligus mendukung penyusunan kebijakan pendidikan vokasi berbasis teknologi yang lebih adaptif dan kontekstual di Indonesia.  Development of Web-Based Interactive Learning Materials for Vocational High School Teachers: A Systematic Literature Review  This study aims to explore the trends, directions, and research gaps in studies focusing on the development of web-based interactive learning materials for vocational high school (SMK) teachers during the 2015–2025 period. The background of this research stems from the limited digital competence of vocational teachers in effectively integrating technology into the learning process, despite the increasing demand for interactive learning materials as vocational education undergoes rapid transformation in the Industry 4.0 era. The research adopts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, following the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and the framework of Kitchenham & Charters (2007). A total of 78 scientific articles were identified from reputable databases including Scopus, Sinta, Google Scholar, DOAJ, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink. After a rigorous screening process, 20 articles were selected for in-depth analysis using thematic analysis and qualitative synthesis approaches.The findings reveal three dominant patterns: (1) a shift from the development of static learning media toward adaptive digital learning models grounded in TPACK and constructivist theories; (2) improved effectiveness of web-based learning in enhancing students’ motivation, participation, and learning outcomes; and (3) strengthened digital literacy and competence among teachers in designing and implementing interactive instructional materials. Furthermore, the review highlights existing research gaps in theoretical frameworks, methodological diversity, and geographical contexts, particularly in underrepresented non-technical vocational fields.Overall, this study concludes that the development of web-based interactive learning materials plays a crucial role in improving the quality of vocational education and provides a solid theoretical foundation for strengthening digital pedagogy and teacher competence policies. These findings serve as a valuable reference for future empirical research and contribute to the formulation of adaptive, technology-based vocational education policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri busana muslim keluarga di Indonesia menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan seiring dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan busana yang serasi, sopan, dan bernilai estetika tinggi. Namun, proses pembelajaran produksi busana di lingkungan pendidikan vokasional masih menghadapi kendala dalam mengintegrasikan teori dan praktik secara aplikatif. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya model pembelajaran yang mampu menjembatani antara kemampuan akademik dan kebutuhan industri kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) dalam produksi busana keluarga, khususnya pada desain family set busana muslim di Air Tawar Barat, Padang. Subjek Penelitian melibatkan 45 keluarga sebagai subjek pengguna dan mahasiswa program studi tata busana sebagai pelaksana produksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi proses pembelajaran, wawancara dengan pengguna dan ahli, serta angket penilaian kualitas produk. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk menilai efektivitas model dan tingkat kepuasan pengguna terhadap hasil produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model ADDIE mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam merancang dan memproduksi busana keluarga yang memenuhi kriteria kenyamanan, fungsi, dan estetika. Sebanyak 87% pengguna menyatakan puas terhadap desain dan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis R&D efektif diterapkan dalam pendidikan vokasional busana untuk mengintegrasikan teori, praktik, dan kebutuhan industri secara sinergis. Rekomendasi diarahkan pada penerapan berkelanjutan model ini dalam kurikulum serta pelatihan bagi pendidik busana di perguruan tinggi vokasi.

Abstract

The role of leadership management in optimizing the use of digital learning media to achieve more effective learning at the junior high school level. The importance of this research lies in the crucial role of effective leadership in managing educational technology, especially amidst the rapid development of digitalization in the education sector. This study adopted a quantitative design with a correlational survey approach, involving 28 seventh-grade students at SMPN 10 Bengkulu City. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, selecting students who actively use digital learning media. The collected data were analyzed using linear regression analysis and Pearson correlation to test the relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate a significant relationship between leadership management and the use of digital learning media, as well as a positive influence of digital media use on learning effectiveness. These findings provide a practical contribution to education policy, by encouraging the strengthening of leadership roles that support the use of technology in learning. Theoretically, this study enriches the understanding of the transformational leadership model in the context of digital education and provides a basis for developing technology-based learning management strategies.

Rendahnya aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi sistem kelistrikan sepeda motor di SMK berdampak langsung pada hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI TSM melalui penerapan modul pembelajaran berbasis web. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan model Kemmis dan McTaggart, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 siswa SMK Negeri 2 Batusangkar. Data aktivitas belajar diperoleh melalui lembar observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar diukur menggunakan tes objektif. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata aktivitas belajar dari 3,04 pada siklus I menjadi 3,50 pada siklus II. Rata-rata nilai hasil belajar naik dari 74,67 menjadi 82,33, dengan ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 62,5% menjadi 100%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa modul pembelajaran berbasis web efektif untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar pada pembelajaran sistem kelistrikan sepeda motor. Implikasinya, modul ini layak dijadikan alternatif media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi di SMK. Low student learning activities in motorcycle electrical systems lessons at vocational high schools directly affect learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve the learning activities and learning outcomes of class XI TSM students through a web-based learning module. Classroom action research with the Kemmis and McTaggart model was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 24 students of SMK Negeri 2 Batusangkar. Learning activities were measured using observation sheets, and learning outcomes were assessed with objective tests. The findings showed that the average learning-activity score increased from 3.04 in cycle I to 3.50 in cycle II. The mean test score rose from 74.67 to 82.33, while mastery learning improved from 62.5% to 100%. These results indicate that a web-based learning module is effective for enhancing learning activities and learning outcomes in motorcycle electrical system learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (project-based learning/PjBL) pada mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor (PMSM) kelas XII TBSM SMK Negeri 10 Merangin. Penelitian menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan McTaggart dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data keaktifan dan hasil belajar dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan skala Guttman. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan keaktifan yang nyata: siswa sangat aktif naik dari 4,62% menjadi 23,57%, dan aktif dari 57,42% menjadi 68,33%, disertai penurunan kategori cukup dan kurang aktif. Ketuntasan hasil belajar meningkat dari 63,33% menjadi 93,33% (KKM ≥ 75). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa project-based learning efektif meningkatkan keaktifan belajar dan capaian akademik pada pembelajaran PMSM di lingkungan pendidikan vokasional. This study aims to enhance students’ learning engagement through the implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) in the Motorcycle Engine Maintenance (PMSM) subject of grade XII TBSM at SMK Negeri 10 Merangin. A classroom action research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model was applied in two cycles, each consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data on student engagement and learning outcomes were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analysed descriptively using quantitative Guttman-scale scores supported by qualitative descriptions. The results indicate a marked improvement in student engagement: the proportion of highly active students increased from 4.62% to 23.57% and active students from 57.42% to 68.33%, accompanied by a decline in moderately and less active categories. Mastery learning rose from 63.33% to 93.33% (minimum mastery criterion ≥ 75). These findings demonstrate that project-based learning is effective in strengthening student engagement and achievement in vocational PMSM learning.

Abstract

Keselamatan kerja pada ruang oven pengecatan bodi kendaraan sering terabaikan, terutama pada sistem kelistrikan yang beroperasi pada suhu tinggi dan kelembapan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun panel instalasi listrik berbasis engineering safety untuk oven pengecatan di Laboratorium Teknik Otomotif Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE). Panel dirancang untuk melayani beban 3.736,6 W pada tegangan 220 V, dilengkapi Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) 20 A, tombol Emergency Stop, sistem grounding, pilot lamp, dan thermostat yang mengacu pada standar SNI dan PUIL 2011. Validasi dua ahli menyatakan panel layak digunakan, sedangkan uji fungsional menunjukkan MCB bekerja responsif dan tombol Emergency Stop mampu memutus arus dalam waktu kurang dari 0,5 detik. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa panel yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan keselamatan kerja dan menjadi media pembelajaran praktikum kelistrikan serta teknologi pengecatan di pendidikan vokasi otomotif. Occupational safety in painting ovens is often overlooked, particularly in electrical systems operating in high-temperature, high-humidity environments. This study designs and constructs an electrical installation panel based on engineering safety principles in the Automotive Engineering Laboratory of Universitas Negeri Padang using a Research and Development approach with the Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE) model. The panel supplies a load of 3,736.6 W at 220 V and is equipped with a 20 A Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), Emergency Stop button, grounding system, pilot lamp, and thermostat in accordance with SNI and PUIL 2011. Validation by two experts confirmed that the panel is feasible for use, while functional testing showed that the MCB operates responsively and the Emergency Stop disconnects the circuit in less than 0.5 s. These findings indicate that the panel enhances safety and provides a practical learning medium for electrical systems and painting technology in vocational automotive education.
