Abstract

Menurut Balitbangkes dan Kemenkes RI (2013) di Indonesia persentase kejadian Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR) pada tahun 2013 mencapai 10,2% dan salah satu penyebabnya yaitu Pola Konsumsi Alkohol Selama Kehamilan. Tingginya kadar glukosa yang ada pada buah nangka matang berpotensi menjadi sumber alkohol. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat adanya efek jus buah nangka matang terhadap kejadian Berat Badan Lahir Rendah (BBLR) pada janin tikus. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan experimental murni dengan rancangan penelitian Post Test Only Control Group Desain. Menggunakan 20 ekor tikus betina bunting jenis Rattus norvegicus strain wistar dan dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok, yaitu; kontrol (P0), Perlakuan 1 (P1) = 0,85 ml/200g BB/hari, Perlakuan 2 (P2) = 1,7 ml/200g BB/hari dan Perlakuan 3 (P3) = 3,4 ml/200g BB/hari). Jus buah nangka diberi selama 19 hari dan pada hari ke-19 tikus bunting dibedah lalu diambil janinnya untuk ditimbang. Didapatkan hasilnya pada kelompok P0 rata-rata berat badan janin tikus  4.18 ± 1.39 gr, kelompok P1 = 3.60 ± 1.15 gr, kelompok P2 = 3.56 ± 0.57 gr, dan pada kelompok P3 = 2.84 ± 1.80 gr. Analisis Oneway Anova didapatkan hasil pvalue = 0,475 (p>0,05) dikatakan penurunan berat badan janin tikus pada kelompok P1, P2 dan P3 tidak berbeda signifikan dengan kelompok P0. Akan tetapi ada kecenderungan penurunan berat badan janin tikus dengan peningkatan dosis jus buah nangka yang diberikan

Abstract

Latar belakang: kebiasaan mengkonsumsi makanan cepat saji di Indonesia mencapai 88%/hari. MSG dapat membahayakan kesehatan, terutama organ reproduksi wanita yang dapat menyebabkan infertilitas. Tujuan: membuktikan adanya pengaruh ekstrak etanol brokoli dalam peningkatan total sel epitel sekretorik dan ketebalan otot polos tuba fallopi yang terpapar MSG. Metode: rancangan penelitian ini yaitu Randomized Post Test Only dengan membandingkan variabel yang diteliti antar kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok dibagi menjadi 5 yaitu: K(-) tidak diberi paparan MSG dan ekstrak etanol brokoli; K(+) diberi paparan MSG 0,7 mg/gBB; P1 (MSG 0,7 mg/gBB +500 mg/kgBB ekstrak etanol brokoli); P2 (MSG 0,7 mg/gBB+1000 mg/kgBB ekstrak etanol brokoli); P3 (MSG 0,7 mg/gBB+2000 mg/kgBB ekstrak etanol brokoli). Pemberian perlakuan dilakukan selama 28 hari. Terminasi dilakukan di hari ke 29 saat tikus dalam fase proestrus, selanjutnya dilakukan pengecatan HE untuk mengetahui gambaran histopatologi tuba fallopi tikus kemudian diamati dengan mikroskop. Hasil: uji ANOVA pada rerata sel epitel sekretorik menghasilkan perbedaan yang bermakna (p= 0,000 atau < 0,05), sedangkan hasil uji HSD membuktikan tidak semua kelompok perlakuan diperoleh perbedaan yang signifikan. Pada jumlah tebal lapisan otot polos menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna. Simpulan: ekstrak etanol brokoli mampu meningkatkan rerata sel epitel sekretorik dan tebal lapisan otot polos tuba fallopi yang dipapar MSG, meskipun tidak diperoleh perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok.

Abstract

Studi Penilaian Risiko Kesehatan Lingkungan (Environmental Health Risk Assessment = EHRA) adalah sebuah studi partisipatif di Kabupaten/Kota untuk memahami kondisi fasilitas sanitasi dan higiene serta perilaku-perilaku masyarakat pada skala rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran terkait pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga di Kabupaten Kudus. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara. Pengumpulan data dilakukan oleh enumerator yang terseleksi. Desa/Kelurahan yang menjadi area studi ditentukan secara stratified random. Responden dari setiap area studi, ditentukan secara random. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Kabupaten Kudus, hanya 32,6 % responden (sebanyak 300 dari 920 responden) yang melakukan pengumpulan sampah untuk dibuang ke TPS atau dikumpulkan oleh kolektor informal pada cluster 1, 2 dan 3. Sedangkan responden pada cluster 0, tidak melakukan pengumpulan sampah. Responden yang melakukan pemilahan sampah sebelum dibuang, hanya sebanyak 2,3 %.

Abstract

The main cause of the high prevalence of iron deficiency anemia of children in Indonesia is the low intake of iron. Green spinach flour as a source of iron can be used as a substitution material in the manufacture of biscuits. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of green spinach flour substitution on iron, hardness and acceptance levels of biscuits from composite cassava flour and wheat flour. The research was conducted by substituting the green spinach flour with various levels of 0%, 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%. The biscuits were then tested for the iron using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), hardness using texture analyzer and acceptability. The results indicated that there was a substitution effect of green spinach flour to iron and acceptability of biscuits, whereas, there was no effect on the hardness. The higher the substitution of green spinach flour, the higher the iron level of the biscuit. The highest iron level was displayed by biscuit with the substitution of 7.5%, which was 89.82mg/kg. The hardness of biscuits was not affected by the substitution of green spinach flour. The range of biscuit hardness levels was between 2592.16g - 3985.83g. Biscuit with 5% substitution of green spinach flour gave the highest acceptability. The iron requirement of Indonesian school-age children (7-9 years) can be fulfilled by consuming biscuits (5% green spinach flour) as much as 14 grams or equivalent to 3 pieces of biscuit for a day.

Abstract

Saliva merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang berperan dalam melindungi jaringan di dalam rongga mulut. Namun, setiap individu memiliki laju aliran dan pH saliva yang berbeda-beda karena dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor salah satunya terhadap stimulus mekanis seperti pada pemakaian pesawat ortodonti cekat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan laju aliran dan pH saliva pasien dengan piranti ortodonti cekat dan tanpa piranti ortodonti pada mahasiswa FKG USU. Jenis penelitian ini adalah cross sectional. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan cara purposive sampling dan sampel yang diambil sebesar 44 orang yang terdiri dari 22 orang pemakai piranti ortodonti cekat dan 22 orang bukan pemakai piranti ortodonti. Pengumpulan saliva dilakukan dengan metode passive drool. Perbandingan laju aliran saliva antara kedua kelompok dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann – Whitney U dan perbandingan pH saliva dengan menggunakan uji-t independent. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju aliran saliva tertinggi sebesar 1,16 ml/menit dan pH saliva tertinggi sebesar 7,60 terdapat pada pasien pemakai piranti ortodonti cekat dan laju aliran terendah 0,08 ml/menit dan pH saliva terendah 6,40 pada pasien tanpa piranti ortodonti cekat. Sebagai kesimpulan, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan untuk laju aliran dan pH saliva antara pasien dengan piranti ortodonti cekat dengan pasien tanpa piranti ortodonti (p<0,05), dimana laju aliran dan pH saliva pada pasien dengan piranti ortodonti cekat lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pasien tanpa piranti ortodonti.

Abstract

Recurrent aphtous stomatitisis a recurrent oral ulcer. Clinically recurrent aphtous stomatitis is easy to diagnose, but its etiology and pathogenesis remain unclear because it has no single or specific cause. The main predisposing factors associated with recurrent aphtous stomatitis are genetic factors, hematological and immunologic abnormalities, local factors such as trauma, and smoking cessation. Several studies have shown that hematological abnormalities can affect the oral mucosa and cause recurrent aphtous stomatitis. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between recurrent aphthous stomatitis and iron deficiency anemia, as well as the relationship between recurrent aphthous stomatitis and hematological status. The subjects consist of 59 recurrent aphtous stomatitis patients and 60 control patients. A full blood examination was carried out for all subjects. Hemoglobin level, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, and serum iron level are determined for each subject.The result of this study showed that there is no significant difference in hemoglobin level, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, and serum iron level with p-value of 0.714, 0.395, 0.809, 0.497, and 0.368, respectively. The result also showed that there is no significant difference in iron deficiency anemia status between the recurrent aphtous stomatitis and control group (p = 0,7). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between iron deficiency anemia and recurrent aphtous stomatitis incidence.

Ikan adalah sumber bahan makanan dan ikan juga merupakan komoditas yang mudah menjadi rusak akibat pembusukan, sehingga ikan perlu penanganan yang cermat dalam upaya mempertahankan mutunya sejak ikan diangkat dari air, air tawar dan air laut. Proses pendinginan merupakan perlakuan yang paling sering dan mudah untuk mempertahankan mutu hasil perikanan terutama dalam tahap penanganan. Dalam perancangaan ini tujuannya adalah menentukan : Karakteristik es batu, Analisa gaya dan putaran, Merencanakan komponen-komponen permesinan seperti : poros, pasak, puli, sabuk dan bantalan pada mesin penghancur es batu, Hitung energi yang dibutuhkan untuk menggerakkan mesin yang mampu menghancurkan es batu sebanyak 70 batang/jam, Menetapkan tipe dan jenis motor penggerak, Membuat gambar kerja alat mesin pencacah es balok, Poros yang digunakan dari bahan baja karbon yang difinisi yaitu S30C dengan kekuatan tarik 48 kg/mm2 dengan daya motor 220 volt dan putaran 2800 rpm, sabuk yang digunakan sabuk V standar, bantalan Ball Bearing dengan diameter poros 35 mm, puli terbuat dari besi cor dengan diameter puli 3 inci.

Abstract

This sweet potato wrapping machine is a tool to help the community in sweet potato shrinkage to facilitate the processing process and improve the production process. In its operation, the sweet potato wrapping machine is assisted by several main components, namely: shaft, made using a grating machine, grinding wheel, lathe, manufacturing time (0.45 hours), shaving blade, made using a lathe, hand drill, welding, length of manufacture (9.37 hours) and the frame is made using a machine saw, drill, weld grinding machine, length of manufacture (6.57 hours). The role of the main component is very important, because it needs to be done in a good design and one of them is in terms of shrinkage, where the shaving knife must be able to drag sweet potatoes well and time faster. The purpose of sweet potato shrinkage is to identify materials and models, choose machine tools and tools, plan work steps, analyze the processing time and make a time schedule for each component so that in making this sweet potato wrapping machine works well. From the results of the processing time obtained the fastest time and the longest time the shaft making process (27.37 minutes) while the longest time in the manufacture of shear blade (9.37 hours) by analyzing the results of actual manufacturing time for 24.82 (hours).

Abstract

Putu Mayong is a traditional Indian food which has received a warm welcome from some nations, especially in Asia, among others in South India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and is known as a snack. The process of making putu mayung is by mixing rice flour with water or coconut milk and pressing the dough through a mold to produce a noodle-like form and then steamed it. . One mold container that is commonly used can produce 15 pieces of putu mayung and every 1 kg of dough produces 70 putu mayung. Every 1 hour can spend 5 kg of dough to be putu mayung. Producers of putu mayung used to produce 2000 pieces within 6 hours by spending 30 kg of dough, the work of printing this putu mayong if done every day could make putu mayong producers experience fatigue. From the design results, the printer drum is used with a diameter of 50 cm, the drum height of the printer is 25 cm, with a number of prints of 25 pieces, the size of the mold cover is the same as the size of the diameter in the printing tube. Turntable where the baking tray is printed by putu mayong rotates at 20 rpm and 100 watts of drive. The print height from the bottom frame to the pressure lever reaches 130 cm. The pressure lever length is 70 cm.

Abstract

Lead is one of the pollutants widely spread in the environment because it is not easily decomposed. Lead can affect system functions such as the ovary and endometrium. Lead can trigger oxidative stress by reducing antioxidant enzymes and increasing Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Lead can also reduce Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH) levels by disturbing the hypothalamus. Chitosan is an antioxidant compound that can reduce the toxic effects of lead. The purpose of this study was to study the effects of chitosan administration on the diameter of antral follicles, the number of endometrial arterioles, and the thickness of endometrial rats after lead acetate exposure. This study was an experimental laboratory using a posttest-only control group design approach applied on 25 female rats aged 8 weeks old, body weight 125-175 grams. Lead and chitosan were given orally with a sonde. There were 5 groups, namely, negative control group (without any treatment), positive control group (lead 175mg/kg/BW), treatment group 1 (lead 175mg/kg/BW + chitosan 16mg/kg/BW, treatment group 2 (lead 175mg/kg/BW + chitosan 32mg/kg/BW), and treatment group 3 (lead 175mg/kg/BW + chitosan 64mg/kg/BW) for 30 days. The rats were sacrificed at proestrus phase, which was proven from vaginal swab. Observations were carried out using the Hematoxylin Eosin (HE) staining method. The observations were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and followed by Least Significant Differences (LSD) test. The results showed significant results (p-value <0.05). Chitosan can increase the diameter of the antral follicle, increase the number of endometrial arterioles, and increase the thickness of endometrial rats exposed by lead acetate.
