Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dasar-dasar bahasa Jerman kepada santri di TPQ Al-Abqariyyah sebagai upaya menumbuhkan wawasan multibahasa sejak dini. TPQ Al-Abqariyyah yang berlokasi di Perumahan Cakra Hidayat Regency, Desa Taeng, Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan, memiliki sekitar 80 santri yang terbagi dalam beberapa jenjang, mulai dari prasekolah hingga kelas E. Program bahasa Jerman difokuskan pada santri kelas D dan E, kelompok usia yang lebih tua, yang beberapa di antaranya telah menempuh pendidikan SMP. Proses pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan komunikatif, didukung oleh media visual dan audio, serta permainan edukatif yang menarik untuk menumbuhkan minat belajar bahasa asing. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan antusiasme santri yang tinggi dalam mempelajari kosakata dasar bahasa Jerman, seperti sapaan, angka, dan benda-benda di sekitar mereka. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa, kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya penguasaan bahasa asing sebagai bekal santri untuk menjadi generasi yang terbuka terhadap dunia global tanpa meninggalkan nilai-nilai Islam yang telah dipelajari di TPQ.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran bahasa Jerman melalui penerapan desain gamifikasi di lembaga kursus bahasa Jerman di Kota Makassar. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra (Blickpunkt Institute) adalah rendahnya motivasi belajar peserta kursus, keterbatasan variasi metode pengajaran, serta kurangnya pemanfaatan media digital yang interaktif. Untuk menjawab kebutuhan tersebut, tim pelaksana merancang dan mengimplementasikan model pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi yang mengintegrasikan unsur permainan edukatif, tantangan, dan penghargaan dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap observasi kebutuhan, pelatihan bagi pengajar, pembuatan konten gamifikasi menggunakan platform digital seperti Kahoot dan Quizizz, serta pendampingan dalam penerapan di kelas. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada partisipasi, antusiasme, dan motivasi belajar peserta kursus. Selain itu, para pengajar memperoleh keterampilan baru dalam merancang pembelajaran kreatif berbasis teknologi digital. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui tes bahasa Jerman, angket dan wawancara yang mengindikasikan bahwa desain gamifikasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi berbahasa Jerman, menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, kompetitif, dan kolaboratif. Program pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi model pengembangan inovasi pembelajaran bahasa asing yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan, sekaligus memperkuat sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dan lembaga pendidikan nonformal dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Jerman di daerah.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of the andragogy approach in improving students’ critical thinking skills based on research results from the last ten years (2015–2025). The method used is a literature study by reviewing various national and international scientific publications. The results of the review indicate that the application of andragogy principles, such as independent learning, reflective learning experiences, and problem-based learning, has been proven to contribute to improving students’ critical thinking skills. However, most of the research is still descriptive and not many uses experimental designs. Therefore, further, more in-depth research is needed to strengthen the empirical evidence of the causal relationship between andragogy and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to detect and describe the prevalence and types of Specific Learning Difficulties (SLDs) dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia among Grade X students in senior high schools (SMA) and vocational high schools (SMK) in Southeast Sulawesi Province. A descriptive quantitative design was employed. The study population comprised all 50,483 Grade X students (37,113 from SMA and 13,370 from SMK). A sample of 5,675 students from 35 schools (11 SMA and 24 SMK) was assessed using the Specific Learning Difficulties Detection Test, which evaluated reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. This was supplemented by teacher questionnaires and student learning documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine the number, proportion, and categories of SLDs. A total of 624 students were identified with SLDs: 417 from SMA and 207 from SMK. The prevalence was higher in SMA (12.9%) than in SMK (8.5%). Dyslexia was the most common type, followed by dyscalculia and then dysgraphia. The study also found that teacher understanding of SLDs was generally insufficient, hampering effective detection and intervention. The study recommends: Implementing systematic, periodic early detection programs for SLDs in schools. Providing targeted training for teachers to improve identification and intervention strategies for students with SLDs. Developing and adopting adaptive, inclusive teaching methods within SMA and SMK curricula to support diverse learning needs. These findings are intended as a foundation for regional governments and educational institutions to formulate policies that improve educational services tailored to individual student needs. This research provides the first comprehensive, data-driven snapshot of SLD prevalence among adolescents in Southeast Sulawesi, a region previously lacking such evidence. By highlighting the significant prevalence of SLDs particularly dyslexia at the secondary education level and linking it to a gap in teacher awareness, the study makes a critical contribution. It shifts the focus from a purely academic concern to a systemic one, offering concrete, evidence-based recommendations for early detection, teacher training, and inclusive policy-making to address this educational challenge.

Abstract

Teachers’ professional competence is an important determinant of the quality of education and student achievement. In the Indonesian context, school principals play an important role as instructional leaders, facilitators, and supervisors in strengthening teachers’ professional capacity. This qualitative descriptive study aims to explore the role of school principals in improving the professional competence of teachers at SD Negeri 2 Benua, South Konawe Regency. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, involving principals, teachers, and school supervisors. These findings reveal that principals use three key strategies: (1) providing ongoing professional development through workshops and internal training, (2) strengthening collegial collaboration through teacher working groups and peer coaching, and (3) implementing instructional supervision to ensure the quality of teaching. These efforts contribute to a significant improvement in teachers’ mastery of subject matter, pedagogical skills, and classroom management. The study concludes that effective principal leadership practices are essential in promoting sustainable teacher professional competence in primary schools.

Abstract

Gamification principles have been demonstrated to enhance motivation and engagement among language learners in the field of foreign language education. A gamified digital learning environment is used to study German as a foreign language among university students. Using a mixed-methods research design with tools measuring learner motivation and learning analytics enabled the collection of data from 35 students enrolled in an A2-level German course. Additionally, semi-structured interviews have provided valuable qualitative insights. The digital gamified system produced in comparison with the standard value an increase in student scores thereby showing the efficacy of this method in enhancing students' In a single variable analysis using t-tests a single variable analysis revealed that 35 of the students exhibited higher language skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking in an introductory German course The sample showed a median initial of 80.09 and a standard deviation of 7.32. The scores of the sample indicated a significant departure from the expected median, with a value of 15.21 and a p-value of 0.001 indicating a statistically significant outcome. This study demonstrates both quantitative improvements in the competence of German students and a shift in the relationship between lecturers and students within the learning equation. It is evident in observations, interviews, and student feedback. The role of a lecturer has undergone a significant transformation in the contemporary academic environment. Historiographically, the primary function of a lecturer was to deliver a lecture to their students. However, the role in the current period has evolved to include a more active involvement in facilitating learning, as well as providing mentorship and designing learning experiences for their students. Historically, students have taken a passive role in the learning environment. Recent observations, regardless, indicate a shift in their engagement with students, with them now actively contributing to the learning process and even creating learning content.

Abstract

Breast cancer patients with low resilience may experience adverse psychological outcomes, including stress, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties in recovery. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various interventions in improving resilience among breast cancer patients and to provide practical guidance for healthcare practitioners in implementing these interventions. Following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and PICOS framework, a comprehensive search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for studies published between 2018-2024. Two independent reviewers screened eligible studies in two stages (title/abstract and full-text). The methodological quality of included studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tool. A total of 20 studies met the inclusion criteria. Interventions identified include music therapy, mindfulness, family and social support programs, cognitive behavioral therapy, digital-based interventions, and psychoeducation. Most interventions demonstrated a significant positive impact on patients’ psychological resilience, coping ability, and quality of life. Evidence suggests that resilience-focused interventions can be effectively integrated into supportive care for breast cancer patients. Healthcare practitioners should consider incorporating these strategies to address psychosocial needs. Further studies are recommended to evaluate long-term impacts and cost-effectiveness in diverse settings.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the influence of individual competence, workload, and incentives on the interest of State Civil Servants for the positions of Commitment-Making Officials in Malaka Regency. Research methodology: The type of method in this research is quantitative research method. The sampling techniques used are Non-probability Sampling method and Saturated Sampling technique. The data analysis techniques are simple linear regression and multiple linear analyses. Results: The results of this study are that partially, individual competence, workload, and incentives have a positive but not significant effect on the interest of civil servants in the Commitment-Making Official Positions in Malaka Regency. Individual competence, workload, and incentives simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the interest of civil servants in commitment-making positions in Malaka Regency. Limitations: Research variables are complex and research results may change in the future. Contribution: The findings of this study can be used as the basis for evaluating the Malaka local government bureaucracy and can be scientific information for students of the public administration program.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan bentuk, fungsi, serta implikasi campur kode yang muncul dalam percakapan antara dosen dan mahasiswa semester V Tahun 2025 di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jerman Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Data diperoleh dari transkrip interaksi di kelas pada Mata Kuliah Übersetzung in der Praxis (Praktik Penerjemahan) yang memperlihatkan percampuran bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Jerman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis berdasarkan teori campur kode yang dikemukakan oleh Suwito (1983) dan Nababan (1984). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa campur kode dalam interaksi kelas umumnya berbentuk penyisipan unsur leksikal berupa kata, frasa, dan klausa dari kedua bahasa yang digunakan. Penggunaan campur kode dilakukan untuk memperjelas makna, membantu pemahaman terhadap istilah atau konsep yang sulit, serta menyesuaikan situasi komunikasi yang terjadi di kelas. Fenomena ini tidak hanya menunjukkan kemampuan bilingual dosen dan mahasiswa, tetapi juga menegaskan bahwa campur kode memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran bahasa asing di perguruan tinggi.
