Abstract

Digital literacy must be instilled as early as possible, starting at least formally from elementary schools (SD). However, digital literacy learning in elementary schools has not been implemented effectively. Some schools still encounter obstacles, one of which is caused by the limitation and availability of digital literacy devices or media in schools. This obstacle was also experienced by the Muhammadiyah Special Program Elementary School of Baturan and the Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School Malangjiwan. Basic digital literacy skills, such as using a common word processor like Microsoft Word, have not been fully mastered by students, whilst these skills are very important for them to master in this digital era. This community service was carried out by providing direct assistance to students to use Microsoft Word. The stages in this activity were starting from observation, pre-test, to post-test in using Microsoft Word. The hands-on mentoring method allowed students to learn to recognize and use Microsoft Word. This community service shows that there has been an increase in students’ competence in understanding Microsoft Word through the given activities, students have real experience to use word processor, and students' digital literacy improve. It is expected that in the future, students who already have the initial ability to use word processor from the results of this community service program, will improve their skills more and the school can support it by continuing this kind of activity through a digital literacy enhancement program.

Abstract

Collaboration is one of the 21st-century skills that are important to be mastered by teachers or students in the school environment, especially in the scope of science learning (IPA). Science learning requires group and collaborative activities such as practicum in the laboratory for example. However, an outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected nearly 363.1 million children and adolescents worldwide due to school closures that make group activities and collaboration challenging to do. The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected nearly 363.1 million children and adolescents worldwide due to school closures. Many teachers are turning to online classes and transforming their learning into a digital environment. The ability of every science teacher in conducting digital-based learning in terms of collaboration is are not the same, because not all have been prepared for this before. In Indonesia, there are no minimum competency standards that must be mastered by teachers to conduct online learning, including the competence to collaborate digitally. Especially for science teachers, practicum and collaboration in the laboratory cannot be carried out. In fact, laboratory practicum plays a role in increasing scientific competence apart from the transfer of knowledge. Based on these problems, the GutasiPetal (Digital-Competence Literacy for Teacher) team held online training on Digital CompetenceCompetency, particularly in digital collaboration, to strengthen and map the digital collaboration digital competencies of science teachers in Central Java. , as well as improve skills to collaborate online for science learning in a digital environment. The method for the training through Zoom Conference, synchronous simulation, and asynchronous group assignment. Therefore, for evaluating the collaboration skill of the teachers, we assessed the assignment work and analyzed questionnaire results using RASCH Analysis.

Abstract

The Critical thinking is important in education because it encourages students to gain an understanding of more complex information. High critical thinking skills will lead students to find and conclude their understanding. The prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has made global changes in the implementation of learning. Until now, the learning process is still directed at the online learning model with the help of various Learning Management System (LMS) platforms. Conditions like this have implications for the decline in students' critical thinking skills in various aspects, such as inference, interpretation, explanation, analysis, evaluation, and self-regulation. This study aims at proposing an alternative learning approach, namely the enhanced-open learning model which is used to empower and improve students' critical thinking skills. This learning model was developed using the Research and Development (R&D) method and implemented with an adaptive hypermedia learning application media designed with the Luther development model. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling on 98 students of informatics education in Surakarta City. The data were analyzed with the prerequisites for normality and homogeneity of the data before the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney U test was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the model. The results of the increase in the gain score obtained from the experiment are in the aspect of interpretation of 93.18%, inference 76.74%, explanation 96.33%, analysis 97, 87%, evaluation 63.01%, and self-regulation 98.13%. Based on the experiments conducted, it is proven that the adaptive open learning approach has a very significant impact on improving students' critical thinking aspects so that it can be concluded that the model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Teachers' classroom management skills can be seen in their language teaching skills. This study aimed to (1) develop an online assessment model to measure teachers' pragmagogy ability in Indonesia and (2) measure teachers' ability to respond to pragmagogy-related stimuli. This study uses a DD approach to answer the problem formulation determined during model design, development, and evaluation. The sample included 3,150 primary, secondary, and advanced Indonesian teachers. Functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability were validated. This study explained the formulated pragmagogy construction through exploratory factor analysis. Stress testing and installation testing were used to broaden the application's reach. Based on the initial analysis, the online assessment model concludes that the teacher's pragmagogy ability can determine knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Teachers' pragmagogy ability can be determined through pedagogic knowledge as the framework for roles and figures in the form of thinking; reflective and emotional intelligence; ability in instructional communication patterns; and other aspects to realize pragmagogic competence. The use of pragmagogy measurement applications can examine various approaches chosen by teachers to maximize the teaching-learning process in the classroom through interactive, responsive, persuasive, implicative, locution, illocution, perlocution approaches to describe the pragamagogical competencies possessed by teachers in classroom management that is interesting and fun for their students.

Abstract

This study examines how clinical supervision activities can promote multiculturalism in Indonesia and enhance teacher professionalism. Multicultural education is based on five criteria integrated into clinical supervision activities to improve teacher competence. The goal is to apply multicultural values to education and enhance teacher competency in various areas, such as pedagogy, personality, social skills, and professionalism. The study focuses specifically on two Islamic boarding schools in Ponorogo, East Java, Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach for detailed, comprehensive, and in-depth data collection techniques in observation, documentation, interviews, and focused discussions. Based on the findings of the clinical supervision description data through the planning stage, clinical supervision stage, evaluation stage, and follow-up, data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman are applied, which include data mining, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The study found that clinical supervision activities for teachers in Islamic boarding schools start with planning supervision, followed by microteaching and observation activities to assess teacher learning standards. The development of teacher competency is based on teacher learning preparation, discussions, the teacher as the supervisor of an Islamic boarding school, and the teacher as the main actor in clinical supervision activities.
