Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the role of recreational sports in improving the quality of life among urban residents in South Jakarta through a multigenerational perspective. It seeks to understand how participation in non-competitive physical activities contributes to physical health, psychological well-being, social connection, and spiritual fulfillment across different age groups. Materials and Methods: The research employed a qualitative exploratory–descriptive approach to capture participants’ lived experiences and personal meanings of recreational sport. Twenty respondents representing four generations: Generation Z, Millennials, Generation X, and Baby Boomers, were purposively selected. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and short field observations focusing on activity type, motivation, perceived benefits, intergenerational interactions, and participation barriers. Thematic analysis was used to identify recurring patterns, similarities, and differences among generations. Data validity was strengthened through triangulation, participant verification, and reflective analysis. Result: The study revealed that recreational activities such as walking, gymnastics, yoga, and futsal significantly enhance physical fitness, emotional balance, and social relationships. Participants viewed these activities as opportunities for relaxation, stress relief, and self-expression. Intergenerational engagement fostered empathy and social cohesion, while some respondents associated recreational sport with spiritual awareness and gratitude. However, constraints such as limited open spaces, uneven access to facilities, and safety concerns remained significant challenges. Conclusion: Recreational sport serves as a multidimensional avenue for promoting health, emotional resilience, and intergenerational harmony. Integrating inclusive and accessible recreational programs into urban planning is essential for building healthier, more connected, and sustainable communities.

Abstract

This study examines how improvements in human resource capacity affect the performance of village fund management, with anti-corruption numeracy as a mediating variable. Three hypotheses are tested: the direct effect of human resource capacity on village fund management, the indirect effect through anti-corruption numeracy, and the direct effect of anti-corruption numeracy on fund management performance. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study was conducted in North Tolitoli District, Central Sulawesi, involving 121 village officials from six randomly selected villages. Data were analyzed using path analysis and the Sobel test. The results confirm that all hypotheses are statistically supported. Human resource capacity has a significant direct effect (β = 0.677; p < 0.001) and an indirect effect through anti-corruption numeracy (Sobel = 3.109; p = 0.001). Anti-corruption numeracy also shows a direct influence on village fund management (β = 0.303; p < 0.001). These findings suggest that enhancing capacity and anti-corruption awareness are key to improving transparent and accountable village fund governance.

Abstract

Abstract

This article analyzes the comparative effectiveness and efficiency of arbitration and litigation in the resolution of business disputes in Indonesia in order to achieve legal certainty. Dispute resolution through litigation offers formal legal certainty and ease of enforcement of court decisions; however, it has several drawbacks, including lengthy procedures, high costs, and open court proceedings that may compromise confidentiality and damage business reputation. In contrast, arbitration provides advantages such as faster and more flexible procedures, confidentiality, and the ability of the parties to appoint arbitrators with expertise relevant to the subject matter of the dispute. The determinant factors influencing the choice of dispute resolution mechanism include time efficiency, cost considerations, information confidentiality, the sustainability of long-term business relationships, and the technical complexity of disputes. Based on these factors, strategies for optimizing arbitration include the inclusion of clear arbitration clauses in contracts, the selection of accredited arbitration institutions such as the Indonesian National Arbitration Board (BANI), the implementation of pre-arbitration negotiations, and the use of e-arbitration with end-to-end encryption systems to ensure confidentiality and effective enforcement of arbitral awards. Therefore, strengthening regulations and enhancing the capacity of national arbitration institutions are essential to support a stable and sustainable investment climate in Indonesia.

Abstract

The hospitality industry faces persistent challenges in talent retention, particularly among new graduates. This study investigates how the nature of work and internship satisfaction jointly influence future career intentions among hotel management students in Indonesia. Using a quantitative, causal-comparative design, data were collected from 115 students at Universitas Negeri Padang who had completed internships in the hotel sector. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test a mediation model. Results indicate that (1) the nature of work positively affects career intentions (β = 0.531, p < 0.001); (2) internship satisfaction also has a significant positive effect (β = 0.571, p < 0.001); and (3) internship satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between work nature and career choice (indirect effect = 0.094, p = 0.080). Contrary to expectations, the nature of work did not significantly predict internship satisfaction (p = 0.080), suggesting that students’ career decisions are shaped more by their overall satisfaction with the internship experience than by specific job characteristics. These findings underscore the strategic importance of designing meaningful, supportive internship programs to cultivate long-term industry commitment.

Abstract

Whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) dominates global aquaculture production due to its adaptability to intensive systems. However, intensive systems often experience excess accumulation of nitrogenous waste and total organic matter (TOM), which can destabilize microbial communities and affect water quality. While protozoa are known as bioindicators, few studies have explored how their functional composition interacts with nitrogen cycling and production performance in shrimp ponds. This study investigated the relationships between nitrogenous compounds, TOM, bacterial and protozoan abundance in two intensive shrimp ponds (HP: high protozoan abundance and LP: low protozoan abundance). Water quality parameters, including Total Ammonia Nitrogen (TAN), nitrite, nitrate, TOM, and phosphate, were monitored weekly alongside microbial assessments of total bacterial count (TBC), total Vibrio count (TVC), and protozoa abundance. Protozoa were identified microscopically, while shrimp performance was measured by growth, feed conversion ratio (FCR), survival, and productivity. TOM emerged as the primary ecological driver, significantly correlating with Vibrio abundance (r = 0.585, p < 0.05). Although the high-protozoa pond featured greater bacterial biomass and more bacterivorous taxa (e.g., Ciliata, Vorticella), it had lower shrimp productivity. Conversely, the low-protozoa pond dominated by detritivores (Euplotes, Strombidionopsis) achieved superior growth, FCR, and final biomass, despite higher TOM and nitrite levels. These findings suggest that protozoan functional composition, rather than total abundance, critically influences nutrient cycling, microbial stability, and production outcomes. Managing TOM and fostering beneficial microbial loops are essential strategies for sustainable shrimp farming.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Leadership (DL) on the successful implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in traditional organizations. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research identifies and synthesizes relevant empirical and theoretical studies from 2020 to 2025. The findings indicate that Digital Leaders play a crucial role in integrating technological, human, and cultural aspects to ensure effective MIS implementation. They act as transformational agents who establish strategic direction and vision, foster an adaptive organizational culture, and empower employees through communication and trust. The study highlights that job crafting behavior serves as a mediating variable linking digital leadership to MIS effectiveness, while traditional organizational culture acts as a negative moderating factor that may hinder employee adaptation. Therefore, the success of MIS implementation in traditional organizations depends not only on technological readiness but also on the ability of Digital Leaders to navigate cultural challenges, promote collaboration, and cultivate a digital mindset across all organizational levels.
