Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using interactive multimedia learning media on students’ understanding of fiqh material among eighth-grade students at MTsN 1 Medan. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ learning interest and understanding of fiqh subjects, which is caused by the use of conventional teaching methods that are less engaging and monotonous. Therefore, innovation in learning media is needed to increase student involvement and understanding. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The study involved two groups: an experimental group that was taught using interactive multimedia and a control group that was taught using conventional learning methods. Research instruments included achievement tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets to measure students’ understanding and responses to the learning process. The results of the instrument validity test showed that 17 out of 20 test items were valid, with a high level of reliability indicated by a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.930. Prerequisite tests, including normality, linearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, demonstrated that the data met the requirements for linear regression analysis. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 17.002 + 0.604X, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a calculated t-value greater than the t-table value, indicating that interactive multimedia learning media have a positive and significant effect on students’ understanding of fiqh material.

Abstract

Kaluku Bodoa Community Health Center in Tallo District is among the top three areas with the highest incidence of low birth weight (LBW) cases in Makassar, recording 48 cases in 2022. A 2024 study revealed that many LBW infants had not received neonatal home visits and did not possess the Small Baby MCH Book, further exacerbated by the lack of socialization and training among health workers. Through the integration of the Healthy Indonesia Program with Family Approach (PIS-PK), empowering community health cadres in small baby care is essential to prevent stunting. This community service program aimed to enhance cadre capacity through managerial training, utilization of the Small Baby MCH Book, and the establishment of an online support forum for mothers with small infants. The activities were implemented through technical training on the integration of the Small Baby MCH Book and health education using a health coaching approach for health workers and cadres, followed by mentoring sessions at pilot Posyandu through book distribution and educational sessions using visual and guideline-based media The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in the average knowledge and skills of community health cadres and maternal and child health (MCH) healthcare providers in delivering services for mothers and infants with a history of low birth weight, with scores improving from 46.7 on the pre-test to 60.4 on the post-test., and successfully initiated the implementation of a dedicated Posyandu for LBW infants. Targeted care for small babies is a crucial effort to prevent future growth and developmental disorders, emphasizing the need for special attention and differentiated care from health professionals and cadres.

Abstract

The settlement of bored pile foundations is one of the critical factors affecting the stability of structures, thereby requiring accurate prediction methods. Along with technological advancements, prediction methods have also evolved, creating new opportunities to simplify the estimation process and obtain more precise results. Support Vector Machine (SVM), as one of the machine learning methods, provides an efficient way to predict foundation settlement compared to direct field measurements. This research aims to develop a predictive model for bored pile foundation settlement using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and to validate its accuracy by comparing the predicted settlement results with analytical settlement calculations. The study utilized field test data, namely the Standard Penetration Test (SPT), building load data (Q), and foundation data obtained from various literature sources. The input parameters considered include pile length (L), pile diameter (D), end bearing capacity (Qp), and shaft resistance (Qs), while the output parameter is foundation settlement. The performance of the model was evaluated using the R² and RMSE metrics. The results indicate that, on training data, the model achieved an R value of 0.9943 and an RMSE of 0.1, demonstrating excellent ability in learning data patterns. However, a considerable performance drop was observed on testing data, with an R value of 0.447 and an RMSE of 0.394. This large discrepancy between training and testing performance suggests mild overfitting, where the model performs very accurately on previously seen data but lacks generalization capability when applied to unseen cases

Abstract

Introduction: This study aimed to identify family, caregiver, patient, nurse, and healthcare service factors associated with caregivers’ ability to support medication adherence among relatives with mental disorders. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between February and June 2024 at seven community health centers (Puskesmas) in Makassar, Indonesia. Purposive sampling was used to recruit 155 caregivers. Questionnaires were validated prior to data collection. Bivariate associations were examined using the chi-square test, and factors associated with caregivers’ ability to support medication adherence were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression. Results: The multivariate model was statistically significant (model χ²  =  42.87, p < 0.001; Nagelkerke R² = 0.32). In bivariate analyses, the caregiver’s ability to support patients’ medication adherence was associated with family functioning, caregiver factors (gender, stress, motivation, knowledge), patient factors (relapse frequency, severity level), and nurse psychological factors. In the multivariate analysis, family economic status (AOR = 0.22, 95% CI = 0.07–0.69, p = 0.010), family functioning (AOR  =  2.58, 95% CI = 1.19–5.58, p = 0.016), caregiver motivation (AOR = 0.29, 95% CI = 0.12–0.73, p = 0.008), and caregiver knowledge (AOR = 0.40, 95% CI = 0.16–0.96, p = 0.041) remained significantly associated with caregiver ability to support medication adherence. Conclusions: These results suggest that family factors and caregiver psychosocial preparedness play critical roles in facilitating adherence-related caregiving practices. Strengthening family functioning and caregiver motivation and knowledge may improve support for medication adherence.

Abstract

Teacher performance is the main determinant of the quality of learning in elementary schools. Up-to-date literature shows that principals' leadership, work motivation, and professional discipline contribute to the effectiveness of schools. However, most studies still position these three variables as separate constructs in quantitative approaches, so there is not much to reveal how teachers interpret leadership, motivation, and work discipline as meaning systems that shape their performance. This study aims to analyze the meaning of principals' leadership, motivation, and work discipline from a teacher
