Abstract

This study aims to examine the needs and obstacles faced by students about speaking materials, as proficient speaking skills are crucial for efficient communication. The research seeks to identify the domains in which students encounter challenges in speaking and to gather information regarding their preferences for speaking resources. This study included 30 students in the 11th grade of SMA 1 Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Interviews were conducted to obtain additional information, in addition to a questionnaire that contained 29 items. Simultaneously, six students conducted interviews at random. According to the questionnaires and interviews of students, the majority of students concur that the most difficult aspect of learning English speaking and fluency is grammar (63.3%) and fluency (13.3%). Additionally, certain students in the interview are unable to identify the exposition text due to its perceived difficulty in conclusion. The interview involved six students who utilized a voice note to document their responses regarding the necessity of speaking materials. The majority of students concurred that they desired to engage in discussions, perform games, and engage in conversation in order to create a friendly and enjoyable learning environment in English. Abstract

Differentiated learning approach is important to facilitates students to create a conducive learning environment that caters to the unique abilities and requirements of each student. The objective of the research is to investigate the implementation of a differentiated learning approach in the independent learning curriculum paradigm in English language subjects at senior high schools Bengkulu Tengah as well as to analyze the challenges faced by teachers in implementing differentiated learning in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum and their recommendation in implementing differentiated learning approaches in English subjects. This research method is descriptive qualitative by conducting interviews with guru penggerak (change agent teachers) who teach English classes with a differentiated approach. semi-structured interviews were conducted in this research. The result showed in implementing differentiated learning, SMAN 03 Bengkulu Tengah conducts initial diagnostics assessment to determine students' abilities, interests, and learning styles. This finding is slightly different from some previous researchers who implemented differentiated learning by using ability categories, namely low, medium and high.  There were some challenged faced by teachers in implementing differentiated learning were inappropriate diagnostic assessment results, time management, limited research because only a small number of teachers have participated in differentiated learning training as driving teachers. Teacher recommended to accommodate a variety of learning styles and it is crucial to receive collaboration and support from the institution. Teachers are required to collaborate with their counterparts in order to develop cross-curricular activities that incorporate a variety of learning styles. Therefore, investigating the implementation of differentiated learning approach is essential in giving contribution to teaching English especially for foreign language.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the optimal and efficient pedagogical and cybergogy transformation for both teachers and students in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) in English subjects at Madrasah Aliyah of Darussalam Modern Islamic Boarding School, Kepahiang, Bengkulu since the use of AI in English subject at Islamic boarding schools has been notably inadequate due to many primary concerns. The restricted technological infrastructure includes inadequate internet connectivity and insufficient access to AI gear and software. By examining the dynamics within the school, the study seeks to empower students to enhance their critical thinking, reflection, creativity, and productivity in the digital-based education era. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, the researchers collected data through visual observation and interviews with the English teachers and students. In analyzing the data, the researchers used the interactive model of triangulation data that developed by Miles and Hubermann. The study's findings reveal several key elements for the effective implementation of pedagogical and cybergogy transformations. First, customization of learning is essential. With AI, teachers can personalize instructional materials and methods to meet individual students' needs, skill levels, and learning styles. Interactive technologies are also critical, as they increase student engagement and foster collaborative online learning. AI technology provides quick feedback and automates assessments, streamlining the evaluation process. Additionally, AI can be used to source and deliver authentic educational materials, such as news articles, podcasts, or videos, aligned with students' competence levels. Beyond improving language proficiency, AI helps develop students' critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. To fully leverage AI, teachers must also enhance their digital competencies, enabling them to integrate AI effectively into their teaching and guide students in using these technologies responsibly and ethically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal's digital leadership and work environment on teacher performance in Public Elementary Schools in Hulu Palik District, North Bengkulu. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a causal associative design through multiple linear regression analysis, with a sample of 106 teachers selected using proportional simple random sampling techniques. The results showed that the principal's digital leadership had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (β = 0.220; t = 3.720; sig. = 0.000), as well as the work environment which was proven to have a positive and significant effect (β = 0.394; t = 6.715; sig. = 0.000). Simultaneously, both variables had a significant effect with an F value of 76.479 (p = 0.000) and a coefficient of determination of 59.8%, which means that almost 60% of the variation in teacher performance was explained by these two factors. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of the concept of digital leadership with aspects of the work environment in the context of primary education, which have rarely been studied together before. The contribution of this research is to provide an empirical basis for strengthening school managerial strategies to improve teacher performance through strengthening digital leadership and creating a conducive work environment.

Abstract

Teacher professionalism has long been understood not merely as technical skills but as ethical, epistemological, and ontological practice rooted in philosophy of education. However, previous studies tend to be fragmented between empirical investigations and philosophical reflections. This study employs SLNA, integrating systematic review and bibliometric analysis, to map the research landscape on teacher professionalism and examine its philosophical foundations. Literature searches were conducted through Scopus using a structured strategy, yielding 249 articles, of which 138 met inclusion criteria. Bibliometric analysis using VOS viewer identified four major thematic clusters: pedagogical competence, professional integrity, continuous development, and social responsibility. Temporally, research themes evolved from early focus on technical skills toward ethics, professional epistemology, and existential meaning of teaching. Systematic review findings indicate that teacher professional development interventions are positively associated with conceptual understanding, scientific process skills, and student engagement, with aggregated standardized effect estimates (Hedges’ g ≈ 0.67), indicating moderate-to-large positive impact. Philosophical analysis reinforces these findings by highlighting teachers' roles as moral agents, epistemic subjects, and ontological entities within educational praxis. SLNA integration demonstrates that teacher professionalism cannot be fully understood from empirical dimensions alone but requires strong philosophical foundations to address 21st-century educational challenges. This study provides comprehensive landscape of teacher professionalism while underscoring necessity of synthesizing empirical evidence and philosophical reflection as basis for advancing educational theory, policy, and practice.

Abstract

ARFF services are vital for aviation safety, but traditional trainers struggle with fuel efficiency and environmental regulations. This study aims to develop a Fuel Distribution Controller for ARFF trainers to enhance fuel efficiency and compliance. The goal is to improve training while reducing operational costs. Borg and Gall's Research and Development (R&D) model is the foundational framework in this study. This R&D model typically comprises ten essential steps, but for this research, these steps are streamlined into three central stages: preliminary study, research development, and Validation. These stages collectively guide a methodical and structured research process, commencing with comprehensive preliminary investigations, progressing to developing a research solution, and concluding with a validation phase to ascertain the innovation's effectiveness. Professional insights from Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang inform the development of the Fuel Distribution Controller for the ARFF Trainer, aiming to improve practical aircraft firefighting training. This innovation enhances fuel efficiency, reduces environmental impact, and minimizes operational costs. The revamped system simplifies operations and provides a cost-effective, user-friendly learning experience. This achievement, verified by experts and users, holds significant promise for aircraft firefighting training and education
