Abstract

This article aims to reveal the learning of patterns and cultural influences of perceptive mental processes in Angkola language with a Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) approach. This is because learning research tends to offer research related to language learning models and language learning media from various perspectives. Meanwhile, the content of the learning is still limited to be analyzed in certain grammar. This research offers perceptive mental process learning based on one of the regional languages in Indonesia, namely Angkola language which needs to be raised considering that this language still includes native speakers. Thus, the Angkola language must be included in the list of documentation of languages and oral traditions that should be preserved in order to maintain the wealth of the archipelago. The method used is descriptive qualitative with transitivity analysis. The results of the analysis show that the Angkola community in expressing perceptive mental processes produces two patterns, one sequential pattern and one non-sequential pattern. However, for non-sequential patterns, after the process is not followed by sensing but is followed by a phenomenon then sensing afterwards. The uniqueness and symptoms of this strangeness are found in the study of perceptive mental processes in the Angkola language. Therefore, according to the presentation of the analysis, it can be proven the consistency, prevalence and acceptance of this pattern in transitivity in the Angkola language. Keywords: Angkola Language, Mental Process Language, Systemic Functional Linguistics

Abstract

This study explores the strategies and governance of inclusive education management through a multisite case study at SDN 263 Mriyunan Gresik and SDN 25 Banda Aceh. The aim is to analyze how these schools implement inclusive policies, manage resources, and address challenges in fostering an inclusive learning environment. Employing a qualitative approach with a multisite case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school principals, teachers, and stakeholders. The findings reveal that both schools adopt adaptive strategies, including differentiated instruction, teacher capacity building, and collaborative partnerships with local and national education authorities. However, contextual differences, such as policy implementation support, community engagement, and resource allocation, significantly impact the effectiveness of these strategies. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative analysis of inclusive education governance across distinct regional and sociocultural contexts, highlighting best practices and contextual challenges. This research contributes to the development of more effective and adaptable inclusive education management strategies, providing insights for policymakers, educators, and institutions committed to fostering equitable learning environments.

Abstract

Abstract

The study's objectives are to investigate the relationship between lecturer mastery of Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and critical thinking skill development of students in the early childhood teacher education program. Based on a quantitative approach, this study shows a high correlation, which indicates a significant correlation between lecturers’ TPACK mastery and students’ higher-order critical thinking skills. A regression analysis also found that mastery of TPACK has a significant influence on critical way of thinking, which suggests that teachers who develop technology integration practices will assist in developing critical thinking among students. This study adds to the educational literature that TPACK is crucial for promoting this important 21st-century student skill. They realise that the amount of their sample reached the limit of the findings and recommend more compact research involving larger and more diverse samples to replicate these findings in a wider range of educational contexts. These findings reinforce the position of TPACK as a foundational element in promoting critical thinking in teacher education.

Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 underscores the importance of accreditation and introduces the “National Accreditation Council” as its overarching body. The NEP envisions a 15-year phased approach, emphasising graded accreditation and institutional autonomy, aiming for all higher education establishments in India to evolve into self-governing entities focused on innovation and excellence. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has formulated new guidelines, enabling universities and colleges operational for at least one academic year to apply for provisional accreditation. These guidelines intend to widen the scope of accreditation. Unlike the previous requirement that mandated institutions to be at least six years old or to have graduated two student cohorts for NAAC application, the new approach led to a limited number of institutions seeking accreditation due to low application rates. This article examines the viewpoints of 400 faculty members from Higher Educational Institutions in Maharashtra on whether the proposed norms will enhance the quality standards of these institutions. The faculty members collectively believe that the anticipated norms are unlikely to improve the existing quality standards of Higher Educational Institutions significantly.
