Abstract

This study evaluated the implementation of integrated character education in elementary schools in the city of Palembang and measure the achievement of the results. The implementation of integrated character education in several cities in Indonesia has not shown encouraging results. This study is a survey method, conducted at 20 elementary schools in Palembang with descriptive statistics, frequency distribution, and histogram. Data collection techniques were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, checklists, and questionnaires. The results showed that the implementation of integrated character education in elementary schools has not been encouraging. Empirical evaluative findings show that in the fifth grade the highest percentage is 36.33% and in the sixth grade, 30.33% of the 600 elementary school students in the city of Palembang studied still in the Good enough category. The presence and role of classroom teachers who are specifically entrusted with the role of the transmitter of character education or heart education are sometimes overwhelmed and the role of guidance and counseling teachers at the elementary school level is not very visible or even not involved at all, as seen in most elementary schools in Indonesia. This paper recommend to provide hours of classical tutoring services.

Abstract

This study uses the weighting approach to evaluate decision-making strategies in order to rank the importance of the traits that a leader must have in order for the Cadet Regiment Commander to create a transformational leadership model. A decision support system's weighted sum or simple weighting method can be applied to issue solving through the use of Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). This kind of research is called mixed method, since it uses a survey methodology along with qualitative and descriptive quantitative research methods. The author, who is actively engaged in the research, is the research instrument in and of himself. The purpose of this study is to determine the respondents by means of a purposive technique, in which information for research objectives will only come from specific individuals or parties. The study's findings should determine which leader qualities are most important for creating a transformational leadership model. This will be done by applying the SAW method, which is based on five weighting criteria for transformational leadership: motivation and traits, knowledge, skills, and abilities, organizational culture, vision, and vision implementation. Of the five characteristics of the leader, motivation and traits are the criteria that are the top priority to be developed based on the respondents' assessment with a value of 22.3%. Where a leader must have the ability to achieve, ambition, persistence, passion, initiative, have leadership motivation and have the values of honesty/integrity, confidence, originality, creativity and flexibility/adaptability needed to set an example, encourage and motivate other cadets towards achieving the vision of the organization. Followed by weighting on other criteria such as knowledge, skills, and abilities at 20.5%, organizational culture at 18.8%, vision at 19.5%, and vision implementation at 18.9%.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how the project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students is implemented as an implementation of the independent curriculum at the Lubuklinggau Nation Primary School for Boys and Girls. The method used in this research is qualitative. The research subjects consisted of 1 school principal, 2 teachers and 2 students. The research location is Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School, Lubuklinggau City. The research results show that Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School has implemented an independent curriculum since 2022, currently, Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School is in the Freedom to Change category. The classes that have implemented the independent curriculum are Class I and Class IV. The Independent Curriculum gives educators the freedom to create quality learning that suits students' needs and learning environment. The characteristics of an independent curriculum include Soft Skills and Character Development, Focus on Essential Material, and flexible learning. In implementing the independent curriculum, schools must carry out projects to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. The project is not directed at achieving specific learning achievement targets, so it is not tied to subject content. Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School has implemented project-based learning and inquiry learning before the implementation of the independent curriculum, where these two methods are methods that must be used in the independent curriculum. So that Putra Putri Bangsa Elementary School does not have difficulties and obstacles in implementing the independent curriculum. The project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students has been carried out in the form of student performance. Student performance is an annual routine agenda that has long been carried out by SD Putra Putri Bangsa. Student performance activities are carried out in even semesters. In 2023, the theme of student performance activities is traditional art. This project has proven successful in the planning, implementation, and assessment stages showing the six dimensions of the Pancasila profile

Abstract

Teacher job satisfaction is an important factor in improving the quality of education. This research aims to examine the impact of distributed leadership on teacher job satisfaction. Distributed leadership is an approach where leadership responsibilities are shared among team members, rather than centered on one individual. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The research results show that distributed leadership has a positive and significant influence on teacher job satisfaction. Factors that contribute to teacher job satisfaction include participation in decision making, collaboration between teachers, and professional support. In addition, this research found that distributed leadership can improve communication and coordination among team members, which ultimately has a positive impact on teacher job satisfaction. The conclusion of this research is that the application of distributed leadership in the education system can increase teacher job satisfaction. Therefore, educators and school administrators need to consider this approach in managing their teacher teams to create a better work environment and improve the quality of education

Abstract

Using the Analytical Multi-Criteria Hierarchy (AHP) approach and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), this article seeks to discover crucial success criteria for e-learning during COVID-19 in order to enhance process education. Based on established assessment criteria and multi-channel e-learning methodologies, data was gathered by interviewing 69 e-learning leaders in educational institutions during COVID-19. We discovered that managing technology, assisting management, educating students about the usage of the e-learning platform, and requiring a high level of information technology exchange from the lecturer are all important. Universities, staff, and students have had the biggest influence on online learning during COVID-19. The most useful of the five learning models is blended learning. These findings show that e-learning preparation plays a significant impact in boosting the educational process during the COVID-19 pandemic, regardless of the specific technology used by an educational institution.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of gamification into the theoretical design of e-learning within educational technology courses, with the primary objective of enhancing student motivation and learning outcomes. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research gathered quantitative data through pre- and post-intervention assessments. This was complemented by qualitative feedback from participants engaging with a specially designed gamified e-learning module. Results demonstrate a significant increase in learner engagement and improved academic performance when compared to traditional e-learning formats. A key novelty of this study lies in its emphasis on the theoretical framework of e-learning design, specifically highlighting gamification elements tailored to the content of educational technology. The findings suggest that incorporating gamified strategies can effectively address motivational challenges and foster deeper understanding in virtual learning environments. This research offers evidence-based design guidelines for educators and instructional designers, facilitating the implementation of gamification in theoretical course contexts and ultimately contributing to the development of more effective and engaging digital education.

Abstract

While the Indonesian Teacher Leader program is a key policy initiative, empirical research on its direct impact on classroom learning quality is scarce. This qualitative case study at SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Selatan employed interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore the roles of Teacher Leaders. Findings reveal that Teacher Leaders perform five key roles: learning leader, coach, collaboration driver, promoter of student agency, and facilitator of professional communities. These roles significantly enhanced differentiated instruction, teacher collaboration, and student-centered learning. The study concludes that the Teacher Leader program, when implemented effectively, is a powerful lever for improving learning quality and fostering a collaborative school culture. The novelty of this study lies in its in-depth exploration of how Teacher Leaders translate policy into classroom practices in the Indonesian context. The practical implication is that schools should strengthen professional learning communities and student leadership programs to maximize the impact of Teacher Leaders. This research contributes to the limited body of literature on teacher leadership in Southeast Asia by providing empirical evidence of its role in enhancing instructional quality and collaborative culture.

Abstract

In Indonesia, a significant portion of the productive-age population lacks formal secondary education credentials, limiting their employment and further education opportunities. This study employed a qualitative goal-oriented evaluation (Tyler, 1949) to assess the relevance and effectiveness of the C Level Equivalency Program at PKBM Putri Raflesia, using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that the program’s objectives are highly relevant to learners’ needs for diplomas and skills. The flexible, andragogical approach was effective in improving comprehension and participation, leading to significant impacts on graduates’ self-confidence, employment, and educational mobility. The study concludes that the C Level program is a vital mechanism for socio-economic empowerment, demonstrating that program success hinges more on pedagogical strategies and relevance than on material resources. This research contributes by highlighting the role of community-based non-formal education in addressing educational inequality, providing practical insights for policymakers to strengthen adult learning programs, and offering novelty in applying Tyler’s model to evaluate non-formal education for productive-age learners in Indonesia.
