Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to evaluate the learning community program at Sekolah Pendidikan Non-Formal Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar [Non-Formal Education School Learning Activity Center] SPNF-SKB Kaur in improving the pedagogical competence of learning facilitators using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. Methodology: This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with the CIPP model. Participants included the Head of SPNF-SKB Kaur, learning community managers, and learning facilitators. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model, including reduction, display, verification, and conclusion drawing. Main Findings: The findings show that the learning community program is relevant and effectively managed. It successfully supports planning, implementation, and resource provision, leading to improved pedagogical competence of facilitators and positive impacts on student learning outcomes. Nevertheless, challenges remain, such as limited motivation among some facilitators, insufficient module availability for Package A and B, and suboptimal support from local government. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides one of the first comprehensive evaluations of a learning community program for facilitators in non-formal education. Unlike previous studies that focused mainly on teachers in formal schools, this research highlights both the effectiveness and challenges of learning communities in enhancing pedagogical competence in non-formal education settings, filling an important gap in the literature.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence on how visionary leadership of school principals contributes to teacher learning innovation, with a specific focus on the mediating roles of teacher welfare, professional collaboration, and work motivation. This study employed a systematic literature review approach by analyzing relevant studies indexed in Scopus, ERIC, Google Scholar, and Indonesian national journals published between 2013 and 2025. The keywords used included “visionary leadership,” “teacher welfare,” “professional collaboration,” “work motivation,” and “learning innovation.” A total of 48 selected articles were analyzed using thematic synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that visionary leadership has a positive but predominantly indirect effect on teacher learning innovation. Three key mediating mechanisms were identified teacher welfare, encompassing financial and psychological well-being, which enhances teachers’ creative capacity; professional collaboration, such as learning communities and lesson study, which promotes knowledge sharing; and work motivation, both intrinsic and extrinsic, which sustains innovative practices. These three aspects operate synergistically in an integrated model. This study highlights that visionary leadership fosters innovation not through direct control but by creating supportive conditions. Its novelty lies in integrating teacher welfare, collaboration, and motivation as mediators. The findings contribute theoretically and practically by emphasizing a systemic approach to strengthening teacher learning innovation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to systematically identify and analyze global research trends in early childhood science education for children aged 3-8 years, focusing on prevalent instructional approaches and their effectiveness. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. The Scopus database was queried for relevant, accredited articles published between 2015 and 2025. After applying strict inclusion criteria, a final corpus of seven key publications was selected for in-depth qualitative analysis to identify dominant themes and patterns. This review provides a synthesized analysis of the most recent and impactful pedagogical strategies in early childhood science education. It confirms the dominance of concrete, experience-based learning and reveals the significant effectiveness of role-playing and multimodal visualization techniques in making abstract scientific concepts accessible to young learners. A key novel insight is the identification of critical contextual factors for successful implementation, highlighting that teacher acceptance of new methodologies is highest when they align with existing pedagogical values and daily practices. Furthermore, the study underscores the influential role of the teacher and the intentional design of the learning environment in fostering scientific engagement. The primary contribution is a clear, evidence-based argument for developing holistic, play-based, and contextually relevant curricula. These findings offer a foundational framework for educators, researchers, and policymakers to design effective, developmentally appropriate, and engaging science learning strategies for the modern era.

Abstract

The shift toward hybrid learning in higher education necessitates structured digital content that promotes student independence. This study developed and evaluated Google Sites-based digital learning content to support independent learning in an Educational Technology Literacy course. Using a Research and Development approach guided by the ADDIE model, the content was designed, validated, and implemented with 32 undergraduate students. Expert validation scores were 92.5% for content and 90.3% for media, indicating high validity. Student practicality assessments averaged 88.6%, and the mean independent learning score was 86.4%. Findings show that Google Sites is a feasible, low-cost platform for developing effective content that enhances learner autonomy in hybrid settings. This study provides practical implications for instructors seeking accessible solutions to support self-directed learning. The ADDIE-based development process offers a replicable framework for designing similar content in other courses. Institutions may incorporate Google Sites into digital strategies to enhance autonomy, especially where sophisticated systems are limited. The novelty lies in integrating Google Sites with the ADDIE model to foster self-directed learning in a hybrid context. While previous studies explored various platforms, limited research has systematically examined Google Sites as a primary content delivery tool evaluated through expert validation, student practicality, and independent learning outcomes. This study contributes theoretically by enriching self-directed learning literature and practically by offering a validated development model and evidence that such content enhances student autonomy in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the relationship between educational leadership and school performance, with a focus on the mediating role of teacher professional development. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a systematic search of Google Scholar and PubMed databases was conducted for peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024. Of 347 initially identified records, 25 studies met predetermined inclusion criteria (empirical research, focus on K-12 school leadership, reported outcomes related to school performance or teacher development). Results indicate that three leadership models dominate the literature: instructional leadership (reported in 64% of studies), distributed leadership (48%), and transformational leadership (52%). All 25 studies reported positive associations between at least one leadership model and school performance. Instructional leadership demonstrated the most consistent positive associations with teacher self-efficacy (effect sizes ranging from β = 0,31 to 0,58) and student outcomes. Distributed leadership was most strongly associated with teacher job satisfaction and professional agency. Transformational leadership showed indirect effects on school performance mediated through organizational culture and teacher commitment. The Professional Learning Community (PLC) framework emerged as a key structural mechanism integrating these leadership approaches. Limitations include potential publication bias, predominance of cross-sectional qualitative designs, and limited geographical diversity (72% of studies from Western or East Asian contexts). This review provides a synthesized framework for understanding how different leadership models operate through teacher professional development to affect school performance, with implications for principal preparation and school improvement policy.

Abstract

Effective management is required to aid students in positively developing their character and skills during the physical education learning process. The goal of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of management in physical education publications that have been published in Scopus. The study focuses on the productivity of publishing management in physical education papers on Scopus, on the most prestigious journals, authors, and articles, and on an analysis of keywords that frequently appear in management in physical education articles published on Scopus. The search yields 598 documents that were published in the Scopus database between 2017 and 2021. The majority of publications are written by Webster, C.A., who has six published articles. The most active scientific journal is the Journal of Physical Education and Sport, which has 26 published articles. With 41 links, the United States has the most total link strength of any nation. With 122 instances, "physical education" is the term that is used most frequently. The newest keywords include "big data," "COVID-19," "diet," "sports management," and "knowledge." The most read article on the subject of management in physical education was "Domain-Specific Physical Activity and Mental Health: A Meta-analysis." The research's limitation is that the author is only able to use data from the Scopus database and is only able to use sources that are journal articles; however, the Scopus database also contains other types of sources, including proceedings, book chapters, editorials, notes, erratums, books, and book series. This study contributes to the development of new concepts in the study of physical education management, and it is necessary to conduct future research related to this research theme, which is one of the areas that can be studied more deeply in order to produce learning products according to the needs and developments of the times.
