Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual) approach on mathematics learning especially the material of bowstring length and area of circle in class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 01 Pontianak. Type of this research is one shot case study experiment. The research subjects in this study were students of class VIII-A SMP Negeri 01 Pontianak that selected by simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using observation methods both teacher and students during the learning process, test, questionnaire, and documentation methods. The result of the research carried out obtained the result of calculations for organizing learning by 3.38 on scale of 1-4, which means that the teacher is classified as good in organizing learning. The activities of student during the learning process with the SAVI approach amounted to 72.98% with student’s responses to the learning process is 77.95%, which mean that students are active and respond to learning well. For this reason, the learning outcomes obtained are also classified as good with a percentage of 82%. So, the conclusion that the SAVI approach is effectively used in the learning process for circle subject matter of class VIII-A SMP Negeri 01 Pontianak. Keywords: Effectiveness of Learning, SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intelectual) Approach, Organizing Learning, Students Activities, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze "The Effect of Manipulative Media Use on Student LearningOutcomes in determining the relationship between units of time, between units of lengthand between units of weight" The research method used is an experimental method withthe form of research Quasi Experimental Design, with experimental design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fourth gradestudents of SD Negeri 12 Pontianak city for the 2017/2018 school year. The sample inthis study consisted of 29 people from class IV A (manipulative media class) and 27people from class IV B (visual media class). The data collection tool is in the form of astudent learning outcome test, which is in the form of description questions with a totalof 10 questions. The average learning outcomes of the final class test usingmanipulative media were 83.48 and the average learning outcomes of the final classtest using visual media 72.66. Obtained the final test data t count of 3.1181 and t table(α = 5% and dk 29 + 27 -2 = 54) of 1.6671, because tcount (3.1181)> t table (1.6671),then Ha accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use ofmanipulative media on the learning outcomes of fourth grade students in mathematicslearning at 12 Pontianak City Elementary Schools. From the calculation of the effectsize (ES), the ES obtained is 0.80 (high criteria) .Keywords :Manipulative Media, Learning Outcomes, Mathematics

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop a worksheet (LKPD) based on the Discovery Learning to improve the mathematical creative thinking skill of Junior high school students. The method used was Research and Development (R&D). The subjects in this study were ten 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ketapang in the year 2019/2020. Data collection techniques used were interview and observation. The instruments used were LKPD validation sheets and questionnaires. Based on the result, LKPD is valid to be used on Statistics material for 8th-grade students. The large group test revealed that using the LKPD could give a positive effect to improve the mathematical creative thinking skill of junior high school students, especially on 8th-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ketapang. It proved by the average scores of mathematical creative thinking skill components, which were fluency = 65 categorized as "Good"; flexibility = 65 categorized as "Good"; sensitivity = 56 categorized as "Good enough"; and originality = 46 categorized as "Good enough".Keywords: Discovery Learning, Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability, LKPD

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to develop student worksheets with constructivism structure on trigonometry material in SMAN 1 Nanga Taman Sekadau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. The research method used R & D that development by Richey and Klein which include Planning, Production and evaluation. This student worksheets was a Trigonometry student worksheets whose material presentation is developed based on four phases of constructivism. The fourth part of constructivism includes exploration phase, application phase, restructuring phase and reflection phase. Based on the research, it was concluded that the trigonometry student worksheet is valid that was proven through the opinions of three experts and the results of factor analysis.  The factor analysis are the results of student answers on student worksheets, where each item in the factor analysis had a value above r-count, 0.30. The increase of students' adaptive reasoning abilities was seen from the results of the average pretest and post-test calculated using N-Gain amounting to 0.61 with an increase category namely moderate. Keywords: Adaptive reasoning, Constructivism, Student worksheets

Abstract

AbstractThis research to describe student ability to solve math story problems in terms of thelearning independence class V student at SDIT Al-Mumtaz Pontianak. Research methodused is descriptive method. Subjects in this research are students of class V C. Subjectstaking is done by giving a learning independence questionnaire to students of class V Cwhich then from the results of the questionnaire selected 6 subjects purposive based onthe category of learning independence. Sources of data in this study consisted of theresults of a learning independence questionnaire, test results of story questions andresults of interviews. The results of this research indicate that students with high levelof learning independence are able to solve problems well and fulfill all problem solvingindicators. Students with moderate level of learning independence are able to solveproblems quite well and fulfill all problem solving indicators, but they are still notthorough in doing calculations. Students with low levels of learning independence notenough to solve the problems, students do not understand the question so wrong indetermining how to answer questions, students are also not able to carry out the correctcalculation procedure in counting fractions. Keywords: Ability to Solve Math Story Problems, Learning Independece

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to know the effectiveness of applying problem posing approach in learning arithmetic sequence and series topic at class XI SMK. The research method used was pre-experimental method with one-shot case study design. The aspect to determine the effectiveness of the problem posing approach were teacher’s class management, student’s activity, student’s outcomes and student’s respond. Data collection tools used are student’s outcomes test which contains 4 essay, student’s respond questionnaire sheet and the observation sheet for teacher’s class management and student’s activity. The result of the descriptive analysis carried out were teacher’s class management categorized good (3,11), student’s activity categorized active (65,59%), student’s completeness not fulfilled classically (only 23 students or 66,97% of students can fulfill the standard completeness) and student’s respond categorized good (64%). Because there was one aspect that not fulfilled, so the applying of problem posing approach in learning arithmetic sequence and series at class XI SMK was not effective. Keywords: Arithmetic Sequence and Series, Effectiveness, Problem Posing Approach.
