Abstract

Abstract. Wadi A, Akhsan F, Basri. 2025. Effect of organic manure on growth and yield of dwarf late napiergrass on rocky marginal land. Asian J Agric 9: 727-738. The use of organic manure is a sustainable strategy to improve forage production on low-fertility soils. This study evaluated the effect of different manure application levels on the growth and yield of Dwarf Late napiergrass (DL Napiergrass) cultivated on marginal land under a cut-and-carry system. The field experiment was conducted over two years in Galung Village, Barru District, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, using a randomized block design with four manure treatments: control (0.00), low (1.38), medium (2.88), and high (4.67 g N m-² per application), replicated three times. Manure was applied five times annually, and growth parameters, dry matter yield, nutrient content, and soil characteristics were measured. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT), while regression analysis assessed the relationship between Leaf Area Index (LAI) and Crop Growth Rate (CGR). Results showed that manure application significantly (P<0.05) enhanced plant height, tiller number, dry matter yield, and nutrient uptake compared with the control. The highest biomass production was obtained with high-level manure, yielding 33.98 tons/ha/year in the first year and 21.84 tons/ha/year in the second. Soil pH, nitrogen, and phosphorus also improved under manure treatments. LAI and CGR were strongly correlated, while the leaf blade-to-stem ratio remained unchanged. In conclusion, applying 4.67 g N m-² of organic manure per cycle is recommended to optimize DL Napiergrass productivity and soil fertility on marginal land, contributing to sustainable livestock feed production.

Abstract

Limited media exposure remains a key challenge for humanitarian organizations in strengthening accountability and public trust. This community service program aimed to enhance the communication and publicity capacity of the Indonesian Red Crescent (BSMI) Maros Regency using artificial intelligence (AI) in digital media management. The novelty of this program lies in integrating AI as a strategic communication tool for humanitarian organizations, rather than merely providing general digital training, by supporting content planning, search engine optimization, and context-based publication management. The program was implemented through training and mentoring activities that combined lectures, discussions, hands-on practice, and the use of a workbook as a reflective learning instrument. The results indicate an improvement in volunteers’ understanding and skills in managing digital media more strategically, as reflected in learning evaluation outcomes and the continuity of post-training practices, including the formation of digital volunteer teams and active involvement in humanitarian content publication. Practically, this program contributes to the development of a contextual volunteer empowerment model based on digital literacy and artificial intelligence. This model has the potential to be replicated by other humanitarian organizations to strengthen accountability, enhance public trust, and support the sustainability of humanitarian initiatives in the digital communication era.

Abstract

Abstract

Extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) presents a formidable challenge, often exacerbated by irreversible structural lung damage and severe malnutrition. Roy’s Adaptation Model (RAM) was employed as the theoretical framework to address the profound physiological and psychosocial disruptions in a high-complexity case. This report describes the integrated, nurse-led management of a patient with XDR-TB and destroyed lung syndrome during the acute stabilization phase. A 39-year-old woman with a decade-long history of TB treatment failure was admitted to a national referral hospital with XDR-TB, profound cachexia (BMI 13.96 kg/m2), and severe hypercapnia (pCO2 94.7 mmHg). During a 72-hour acute stabilization period, integrated nursing-led interventions including the Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT), therapeutic positioning, and a high-calorie, high-protein regimen resulted in marked clinical improvement. Respiratory stabilization allowed for oxygen weaning from 5 to 4 L/min with an SpO2 increase to 97%. Breaking the catabolic cycle was evidenced by weight stabilization (maintained at 35 kg) and a positive metabolic shift, alongside significantly improved oral intake (80–90% of requirements).. Functional status progressed from total bed rest to independent short-distance ambulation without desaturation. Comprehensive nursing interventions, focusing on airway clearance and acute metabolic stabilization, play a pivotal role in the rapid stabilization of complex XDR-TB cases. Highlighting outcomes within the first 72 hours demonstrates that structured nursing care acts as a catalyst for physiological adaptation, even in the presence of severe anatomical lung destruction.

Abstract

The reform of criminal law through the enactment of the National Criminal Code marks a fundamental shift in Indonesia’s criminal justice system. This reform not only affects the substance of criminal offenses and punishment (substantive criminal law) but also necessitates adjustments in law enforcement mechanisms through procedural criminal law. This article aims to analyze the relationship between substantive criminal law and procedural criminal law within the Indonesian criminal justice system following the enactment of the National Criminal Code, with particular emphasis on normative coherence, systemic function, and its implications for the principles of justice and legal certainty. This study employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and systemic approaches, supported by doctrinal analysis and developments in modern criminal law theory. The analysis demonstrates that substantive criminal law and procedural criminal law constitute two inseparable components, as the effectiveness of criminal norms largely depends on the procedures governing their enforcement. However, the findings also indicate the existence of potential disharmony between the reformed substantive criminal law under the National Criminal Code and the procedural criminal law framework, which in part still relies on the structure of the old Criminal Procedure Code. This condition poses risks to legal uncertainty and violations of the principle of due process of law. Therefore, this article emphasizes the importance of integration and synchronization between substantive and procedural criminal law to ensure a criminal justice system that is just, effective, and oriented toward the protection of human rights within the framework of Indonesia as a state governed by the rule of law

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine and analyze the direct influence of spiritual motivation, integrity, competence, organizational culture, locus of control, and organizational commitment on the performance of accountants at the Riau Islands Province Public Accounting Firm, and then indirectly test and analyze the influence of spiritual motivation, integrity, competency, organizational culture, and locus of control on accountant performance through organizational commitment. Research Methodology: The population in this study was 102 accountants using the census method, and the entire population was used as a sample. Quantitative data were collected using a questionnaire, and qualitative data were obtained by direct interviews with accountants. Results: From the research results it was found that of the six variables, the one that had the highest influence on performance was organizational commitment (t-value 6.321) and the lowest was spiritual motivation (t-value 2.507). Furthermore, spiritual motivation has the highest influence (t-value 21.893), and integrity has the lowest (t-value 3.467) on organizational commitment. Next, the position of organizational commitment plays the largest role in improving accountant performance and the smallest role is the spiritual motivation variable; the rest is influenced by other variables that were not examined in this study. Conclusions: The influence of dependent variables on independent variables is strong, as is the influence of dependent variables on intervening variables. In this research, all variables have a strong influence on the dependent and intervening variables. Limitations: The dependent variables of this study have not fully provided a definite role for organizational commitment on accountant performance; therefore, it is necessary to add other variables to clarify it.    Contribution: This study serves as a reference for developing an individual behavior model regarding individual characteristics, individual mechanisms, and what individuals produce in public accounting organizations that continue to experience changes in information technology from time to time in the context of reform for progress based on performance as an outcome.
