Abstract

Abstract : Mathematical difficulties in children with special needs (ABK) hyperactivity become a challenge for mathematics teachers in learning. The existence of curriculum targets and demands must be adjusted to the conditions of hyperactive ABK who have difficulties in terms of concentration. The purpose of this study was to describe the strategies and constraints of teachers in teaching mathematics to hyperactive ABK in inclusive class II, as well as their suitability with the conditions and needs of hyperactive ABK. This research is a qualitative field research research with purposive sampling. Samples from this study are classroom teachers who teach mathematics, Special Guidance Teachers (GPK) shadow and hyperactive ABK. The instruments used are observation, documentation and interviews. The results showed that mathematics learning for hyperactive ABK was accompanied by GPK Shadow with the approach of Individual Learning Program (PPI) in inclusive classes allowing hyperactive ABK to focus more on learning and feel comfortable because they could be with their classmates. The curriculum model used is a modified regular curriculum, including modification of goals, materials, processes and evaluations. Keywords:Mathematics Learning, Hyperactive Abk, Inclusive Class.

Abstract

One of the basic skills that students must master to learn mathematics is conceptual understanding. Gender differences have an influence on the disparity level of students' conceptual understanding. This research is qualitative descriptive research that aimed to analyze the students' conceptual understanding in solving set problems in terms of gender differences. The research subjects were 9th-grade students of SMP N 3 Surakarta. The concept understanding ability test was used as a research instrument. The results showed that male students had an excellent conceptual understanding in applying concepts in mathematical calculations and translating images into other forms of interpretation, 2) Female students had a fairly good conceptual understanding in translating images into other forms of interpretation, although female students tend to be weak in determining the right concepts to be used in solving problems and applying concepts in mathematical calculations.

Abstract

Learning in the 21st century can be defined as learning that provides 21st century skills, one of which is communication. Mathematics learning allows students to communicate mathematical ideas clearly. Different personality types can affect the way they communicate, and other activities in learning mathematics. This study aims to describe students' mathematical communication skills in terms of Keirsey personality types, namely Idealist and gender who have Idealist personalities. Descriptive qualitative research was used in this research and was carried out at Junior High School Negeri 1 Purwodadi in the 2019/2020 school year. The research was conducted on the subject of class VIII I with idealist personality type, then selected 1 female student and 1 male student using purposive sampling. The researcher is the main research instrument with the help of observation guidelines, questionnaires, tests of mathematical communication skills and then interviews. The data collection technique is a triangulation technique by comparing the answers to the mathematical communication skills test and interviews. Data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions are data analysis techniques used in this study. Female students with idealist personality types communicate better mathematically than male students with idealist personality types as shown in the results of this study.

Abstract

One of the manifestations of high-level thinking is creative thinking, characterized by creating something new from ideas, concepts, experiences, and knowledge that is in one's mind. This study aims to describe the creative thinking profile of male and female students in solving open-ended problems. The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subject of the study used was 2 grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Surakarta. This research instrument uses open-ended problem tests with indicators of creative thinking and interviews. In describing the student's creative thinking profile, the researcher will pay attention to 4 stages: preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification stages. The results of this study show that male students can explain problems and solutions orally or in writing. While female students can explain the problem and the solution is both verbally but less able to explain with writing

Abstract

Abstract:During the process of mathematics learning, problem solving is one of the important factors in influencing the success of mathematics learning. The objective of this study is determining students’ difficulties in understanding logarithm functions. It is also intended to find out alternative solutions in overcoming the problems. The form of this research is a qualitative descriptive study using Spradley model data analysis through research procedures from Sudjana publication book. Based on preliminary observations, students’ mathematics problem solving skill at SMAN 1 KEDUNGWUNI has various ways. The number of students of class X MIPA 3 SMAN 1 Kedungwuni 1 is 32 students. 25% of students have high problem-solving skill, whereas 75% have low problem-solving skill. The cause of the problem is derived from teachers, students, and learning tools. Students’ mistakes in solving some tasks related to logarithm functions material become obstacles in the next learning process. The written test analysis results and interviews results of students regarding their difficulties in solving logarithm function include: students tend to have low understanding related to initial concepts of logarithm functions, students have difficulty in understanding the application of logarithm functions, and they find a difficulty in applying it into task in the form of story. Alternative solutions that can be implemented to deal with these problems are building the concept of logarithm functions from the previous chapter, namely root and exponent, emphasizing the concept of logarithm functions by giving related tasks, and practicing more tasks about logarithm functions. Keywords:Analysis, Mathematics, Logarithms, Roots, Exponents.
