Abstract

This article aims to synthesize recent findings on the integration of needs assessment and key performance indicators (KPIs) in the quality assurance of Islamic higher education and to formulate a more integrative theoretical model. The review was compiled following the PRISMA 2020 standards. A literature search was conducted on April 4, 2026, through various journal portals and online scientific databases with a publication period of 2021–2025. Keywords used included needs assessment, KPI, quality assurance, Islamic higher education, SPMI, and accreditation. After going through the stages of identification, deduplication, title and abstract screening, and full-text review, a total of 16 studies were included in the final synthesis. The review results indicate that the literature remains fragmented into three main streams: needs assessment studies that focus on curriculum development; KPI studies that predominantly focus on dashboards, reporting, and performance measurement; and quality assurance studies of Islamic higher education that emphasize governance, accreditation, and quality culture. The main findings indicate the absence of a model that explicitly links stakeholder needs, KPI formulation, the SPMI/PPEPP cycle, and the internalization of Islamic values ​​within a unified quality system. Based on this conceptual synthesis, this article proposes the V-NAKPI-QA model as a sustainable quality assurance framework that integrates Islamic values, participatory needs assessment, tiered KPIs, and data-driven feedback

Abstract

This study discusses the classical model of Islamic education management (MPI) and its relevance in responding to contemporary educational challenges. The background of this study stems from the issue of the dichotomy of knowledge, the crisis of morality, and the tendency of modern education to be pragmatic and emphasise only cognitive achievements. The method used is literature research with data sources in the form of classical books, including Ta'lim al-Muta'allim by Al-Zarnuji and Adabul 'Alim wal Muta'allim by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, the thoughts of figures such as Ibn Khaldun and Ibn Miskawaih, as well as 31 academic documents in the form of Sinta/Scopus indexed articles and supporting books. The analysis was conducted descriptively-analytically and comparatively, with validity maintained through literature triangulation. The results of the study show that the classical MPI model is based on the values of tauhid, adab, akhlak, ukhuwah, and amanah. These values are embodied in the kuttab, madrasah, halaqah systems, as well as teacher-student relationships based on exemplary behaviour. This model forms a holistic and integrative educational framework, uniting spiritual, moral, and intellectual aspects. Theoretically, this study enriches the value-based MPI­­­ knowledge base. Practically, it provides direction for the management of educational institutions to remain rooted in spirituality while being adaptive to developments. Prospectively, the classical MPI model is relevant for strengthening moral education in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Islamic values are integrated into the formulation of the vision, mission, and objectives of Islamic education, with a focus on four main aspects: tauhid, akhlak, ukhuwah, and amanah. This study uses a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach, through an analysis of Sinta and Scopus accredited journals, as well as relevant academic literature. The results show that tauhid serves as a transcendental foundation that affirms the orientation of Islamic education as a form of devotion to Allah SWT. Akhlak is an important pillar of character building, ukhuwah strengthens social solidarity, while amanah ensures institutional accountability and integrity. The integration of these four values has been proven to not only maintain spiritual identity, but also increase institutional legitimacy so that the vision and mission do not remain as administrative documents, but become strategic guidelines that are alive in educational practice. These findings complement previous studies that focused more on the curriculum aspect, while also confirming the theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic education management and the practical benefits for educational institutions in formulating a vision and mission that are relevant to global challenges, yet remain rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih adanya bias dan belum optimalnya penerapan prinsip fairness dalam evaluasi pendidikan, khususnya di madrasah ibtidaiyah yang sering dipengaruhi oleh faktor subjektivitas guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk bias, penerapan fairness, serta penggunaan triangulasi data dalam evaluasi pendidikan di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda Subang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus untuk memahami praktik evaluasi secara mendalam dalam konteks nyata. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi dengan melibatkan kepala madrasah, guru, dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa evaluasi masih mengandung bias, seperti bias kedekatan, persepsi awal, dan partisipasi siswa. Meskipun guru memiliki kesadaran terhadap pentingnya keadilan, implementasinya belum konsisten karena belum adanya instrumen penilaian yang terstandar. Selain itu, penerapan triangulasi data masih terbatas sehingga berdampak pada validitas hasil penilaian. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi fairness dan triangulasi data untuk meningkatkan objektivitas dan kualitas evaluasi pendidikan. Abstract

Fiqh is an element of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum both in schools and madrasas. At school, PAI learning requires a time allocation of 2 JP, which ideally would not be enough to achieve learning objectives. But for boarding school-based schools, PAI learning, especially fiqh, gets its own allocation, both in the form of learning outside of school and in the form of programs in dormitories. The aim of this research is to analyze the fiqh curriculum, especially in boarding school-based schools, using a qualitative case study approach. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that the fiqh curriculum which is integrated with the school curriculum at Riyadhul Jannah Modern Middle School has more benefits than being able to cover deficiencies in learning allocation at school, the Islamic boarding school curriculum can also directly ensure the practice of fiqh in students' daily lives with the help of The supervisor or guardian of the room. The role of Fiqh learning in the dormitory, even though it uses conventional learning by reading the yellow book and the teacher explaining it, actually makes learning more effective and efficient because students and teachers have more freedom in explaining or raising topics related to deficiencies or problems in the field of daily worship. Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari kekhawatiran atas degradasi moral generasi muda akibat paparan digital serta lemahnya pengasuhan nilai di lingkungan rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain dan menganalisis perencanaan pendidikan karakter Islami di RA Al-Munar guna meningkatkan moralitas siswa usia dini. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi implementasi nilai-nilai akhlak melalui kegiatan harian, kolaborasi orang tua-sekolah, dan keteladanan guru. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan nilai Islami dilakukan melalui pembiasaan rutin (ta'wīd), keteladanan guru (uswah hasanah), dan integrasi nilai ke dalam RPPH. Selain itu, keterlibatan aktif orang tua dan strategi komunikasi efektif memperkuat sinergi pembentukan karakter antara rumah dan sekolah. Hambatan seperti perbedaan pola asuh dan keterbatasan sarana diatasi dengan pelatihan orang tua serta konsistensi program pembiasaan. Hasil ini memperkaya literatur pendidikan karakter Islam dengan pentingnya kontekstual perencanaan, sesuai dengan kerangka konsep Lickona dan Al-Ghazali.

Abstract

Educational quality assurance has become a strategic priority in ensuring sustainable school improvement, encompassing not only academic outcomes but also systemic processes and organizational culture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of internal quality audits, follow-up mechanisms, and the development of quality culture at SDIT Jaisyul Quran Binekas Nagreg. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore the phenomenon in depth through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that internal audits have been conducted periodically; however, their function remains largely administrative and has not fully transformed into a continuous improvement instrument within the PPEPP cycle. Evidence collection has applied triangulation techniques, although it is still dominated by documentation rather than authentic classroom practices. Furthermore, follow-up actions are not yet systematically structured, limiting the effectiveness of corrective measures. The study also highlights that quality culture is gradually developing through leadership, routine communication, and the internalization of Islamic values such as amanah, ihsan, and itqan. These values strengthen teachers’ intrinsic motivation and institutional commitment to quality. Overall, the research formulates an integrative model that connects audit, follow-up, and quality culture within a sustainable system based on ethical and spiritual foundations.

Abstract

Pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam tradisional di Indonesia yang mengajarkan agama Islam, dengan fokus pada pengajaran Al-Quran dan Hadis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepala sekolah dalam meingkatkan mutu pembelajaran bahasa arab di pondok pesantren Al-Ma’tuq. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis kualitatif, yaitu berusaha mendeskripsikan setiap peristiwa dan kaitannya terhadap orang-orang yang terlibat dalam suatu situasi tertentu. Strategi pendidikan dalam meingkatkan mutu pembelajaran Bahasa arab di pesantren Al-Matuq adalah: Membuat Rencana Strategis Pendidikan, Menjalin Kerjasama dengan Stakeholder, Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru, Menerapkan Teknologi Pendidikan, Menilai Kinerja Siswa, Meningkatkan Sarana dan Prasarana Sekolah, Mengembangkan Kurikulum yang Berkualitas, Menumbuhkan Kultur Sekolah yang Baik, Meningkatkan Kualitas Manajemen Sekolah.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment model in Islamic education through an analysis of five authentic hadiths related to intention, morality, worship, and social behavior. The hadiths were selected based on criteria of authenticity, relevance to educational evaluation, frequency of citation in educational literature, and a rigorous screening process. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study applies content and thematic analysis to primary data from classical hadith sources and secondary data from contemporary academic literature. The findings indicate that the selected hadiths can be reconstructed into five assessment models: intention-based assessment focusing on worship-oriented motivation; moral-spiritual assessment evaluating character; performance assessment emphasizing procedural accuracy; social-emotional assessment measuring empathy and cooperation; and an integrative model of faith, Islam, and ihsan that combines cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual domains. Each model is mapped into domains, indicators, and examples of preliminary assessment instruments. This study contributes a prophetic-based assessment framework that extends contemporary Islamic education assessment models by integrating spiritual intention (niyyah) and ihsan as evaluative dimensions. The results demonstrate that hadith provides a holistic and contextually relevant foundation for developing assessment systems in Islamic education.
