Abstract

Gender equity in education is not merely determined by policies but by how they are translated into classroom practices. Gender-responsive lesson planning is a strategic policy instrument for fostering equitable and inclusive learning in madrasah education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of gender-responsive lesson planning, the practice of gender equity in classroom learning, and the relationship between both. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires administered to teachers and students, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings indicate that the implementation of gender-responsive lesson planning is at a high level, while gender equity practices are consistently applied. Correlational analysis reveals a strong and significant positive relationship between the quality of lesson planning and the realization of gender equity in classroom practices (r = 0.78, p < 0.05). These results suggest that well-designed, gender-responsive lesson planning plays a crucial role in promoting educational equity. The study implies that strengthening policy-oriented lesson planning, supported by institutional commitment and continuous teacher capacity development, is essential for creating inclusive and gender-equitable learning environments in madrasah education

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the new paradigm on the development of instructional media and teaching methods in Islamic Religious Education at MA Nurul Islam, Sukabumi City. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through document analysis, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews with students, the Islamic Religious Education teacher, and the principal. The analysis indicates that the school has established supportive conditions through academic supervision and an internal MGMP forum that encourages innovation and reflective practice. The most visible impact appears in the increased use of digital media, including PowerPoint, projectors, and interactive platforms for formative assessment. Changes in teaching methods are emerging through contextual prompts, group discussions, and project-based learning activities, yet implementation remains inconsistent across classes. Student participation and critical engagement vary, and collaboration is not uniformly developed. Assessment practices show a gradual shift toward formative and digital approaches; however, traditional one-way evaluation and memorization-based tasks persist in some lessons. The key challenges include unequal teacher readiness, limited facilities, and the need for stronger digital source literacy, including guidance on responsible AI use. These findings suggest that media innovation progresses faster than pedagogical and assessment transformation, requiring targeted capacity building and clearer classroom-level standards.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of digital literacy in Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) at SMK Plus Nusa Putra. The research addresses the paradox of smartphone usage in classrooms, where students demonstrate high technical proficiency yet limited ability to critically evaluate the validity of online religious content. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and document analysis. The findings reveal a phenomenon of digital authority disruption, in which social media algorithms exert greater influence on students’ religious perspectives than formal educators. Despite these challenges, the study identifies significant opportunities for developing a “future classroom” model that transforms complex religious concepts into accessible visual and digital formats. The study concludes that the effectiveness of PAI in the digital era depends on students’ critical thinking and digital tabayyun skills, with teachers assuming the role of digital curators. Strategic recommendations include integrating digital ethics into the school curriculum to foster both professional competence and spiritual resilience in an increasingly globalized information environment.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of inclusion and differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a response to student diversity at MAN 3 Sukabumi. Islamic education in madrasahs often relies on rigid standardization, which risks neglecting students’ diverse learning needs, readiness levels, and backgrounds. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through participatory classroom observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, and document analysis of lesson plans and assessment instruments. The findings indicate that inclusion at MAN 3 Sukabumi is not merely a technical arrangement but represents a paradigm shift in teachers’ perspectives toward diversity as a pedagogical asset and a reflection of Islamic justice (‘adalah). Differentiation in content, process, and product enables proportional access to religious knowledge and values for students with varying abilities. However, challenges remain, particularly related to large class sizes and administrative demands. This study concludes that strengthening teachers’ capacity in differentiated instructional design is essential for developing inclusive, humane, and equitable Islamic education in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of an interdisciplinary approach integrating educational psychology and sociology in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at SMPN 6 Sukabumi. The research focuses on how psychological support and sociological practices are applied in classroom learning amid structural constraints, particularly those related to teacher workload and limited educational resources. Using a qualitative field study design, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with one IRE teacher and selected students, and analysis of instructional documents. The findings reveal that the integration of psychological approaches, such as emotional support, personal teacher-student relationships, and motivational strategies, enhances students’ engagement and facilitates meaningful internalization of Islamic values. Simultaneously, sociological integration is reflected in collective religious practices and school culture, which reinforce values through sustained social interaction. The study highlights that the effectiveness of this interdisciplinary learning model is strongly supported by teachers’ pedagogical resilience, enabling innovation despite structural limitations. However, the sustainability of such practices remains challenged by excessive teacher workload, limited facilities, and policy fragmentation. The study contributes theoretically by demonstrating the practical applicability of interdisciplinary approaches in IRE and practically by emphasizing the need for systemic support to ensure the continuity of innovative and contextual religious education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in instilling national values through the paradigm of religious moderation at SMA Azzainiyyah Nagrog, Sukabumi. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that PAI teachers act as agents of change through three primary dimensions: as designers of contextual learning integrating national values into religious materials, as facilitators of critical dialogue to cultivate moderate reasoning, and as living models demonstrating the alignment between faith and patriotism. The success of this role is supported by a school culture that harmonizes religious and national symbols, along with the collective commitment of the school community. However, challenges such as student background diversity, social media influence, an requires a systematic ecosystem of support, encompassing teacher competency enhancement, visionary school leadership, and parental partnership.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evaluation and quality control of PAI learning based on SPMI from the perspectives of teachers, principals, and students at SMP Khalifah Boarding School Sukabumi. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four purposively selected participants, consisting of one principal, one PAI teacher, and two ninth-grade students, and were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that learning planning has been systematically structured and aligned with national standards as well as the boarding school program. Quality control is carried out adaptively through the PDCA cycle and peer teaching practices, while assessment is conducted comprehensively, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, supported by journals and feedback mechanisms. However, several challenges remain, including the dominance of lecture-based methods and the limited implementation of student-centered learning. This study concludes that the implementation of SPMI has contributed to the development of a reflective and value-oriented quality culture. Nevertheless, strengthening pedagogical innovation and integrating active learning approaches are still needed to sustainably improve the quality of PAI learning.
