Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of Internal Quality Assurance Standards (SPMI) in pesantren to identify its impact on graduate quality and community satisfaction. The research design used a mixed-method sequential explanatory approach. The quantitative phase involved 457 respondents and was analyzed using SmartPLS to examine the influence of SPMI on graduate quality and community satisfaction. The qualitative phase was conducted through in-depth interviews with kiai (Islamic scholars), teachers, and alums to interpret the quantitative results and explore the value-based quality practices of pesantren. The quantitative results showed that SPMI had a more substantial influence on graduate quality (β = 0.72; R² = 0.52), while the most dominant influence on community satisfaction was found in pesantren (β = 0.70; R² = 0.51). Qualitative findings confirmed these results by identifying integrative curriculum practices, spiritual-moral guidance (ta'dib), life skills development, and the social contributions of pesantren. These findings confirm that SPMI in pesantren is not merely an administrative instrument but a systemic strategy that integrates academic, spiritual, moral, and social dimensions. This study provides new insights into variations in SPMI implementation in pesantren and offers a quality assurance model that is contextual and aligned with Islamic scientific traditions.

Abstract

The purpose of education is the dominant aspect of education. Therefore, discussing Islamic Religious Education, both its meaning and objectives, must refer to the instilling of Islamic values (cultivating a sense of religion) and must not neglect social ethics or morality. Instilling these values also aims to foster success in life for students in this world, which will then be able to produce goodness in the afterlife. This research is field research, namely research conducted directly in the field or with respondents. The purpose of field research is to examine the issues raised in the research by conducting a review of the problem in real-life conditions. The results of the research conducted at SMP IT Hikmatul Ulum are that the instillation of Islamic character is instilled in the form of habits of praying at the beginning of prayer times, reading the Quran, memorizing short surahs, and saying greetings. Although in practice many students still have shortcomings in deepening these principles, educators strive to instill Islamic character in accordance with the guidance and guidelines of the implemented curriculum.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in fostering national character and civilization. In Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) occupies a crucial position within the national education system. Its importance extends beyond the spiritual aspect to the development of students' morals, ethics, and personalities. PAI serves as the foundation for developing a generation with noble character, responsibility, and social awareness. This study analyzes the importance of integrating Islamic values into formal education, particularly in the face of the challenges of globalization, moral degradation, and the identity crisis of the younger generation. PAI serves as an ideological bulwark against the negative influences of external cultures and is an effective medium for instilling the values of tolerance, peace, and diversity in accordance with the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). This study employed a literature review method with a qualitative-descriptive approach through document analysis, educational regulations, and research related to PAI in Indonesia. The results show that PAI plays a vital role in developing education that is not only cognitively oriented, but also affective and psychomotor. A comprehensive PAI curriculum has been shown to positively impact student behavior in schools and society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of policies to improve Quranic literacy (Baca Tulis Qur'an, BTQ) in schools/madrasahs, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and provide strategic recommendations to improve the effectiveness of implementation. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and policy document analysis. The research subjects included school/madrasah principals, BTQ teachers, and representatives of elementary and junior high school parents in Bekasi Regency. The results showed that the successful implementation of the BTQ policy was influenced by teacher competence, regional policy support, the availability of learning media, and parental participation. However, the main challenges included limited teacher training, a lack of innovation in learning methods, and infrastructure constraints. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need for policy integration with adaptive learning strategies, teacher capacity building, and optimization of collaboration among stakeholders. These findings imply the need for local governments and educational units to develop sustainable BTQ teacher competency development programs and provide adequate resource support to strengthen the quality of BTQ learning.
