Abstract

This study aims to analyze PT Telkom Witel Medan's strategy for improving the quality of service on IndiHome products in order to increase customer satisfaction. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research methodology. Consequently, observation and interviews were employed to collect data for this study. This investigation was carried out at PT Telkom Witel Medan. The findings of the study revealed that the strategy for improving the quality of service on IndiHome products in order to increase customer satisfaction is already very effective and is getting better every month, as the MyIndiHome application makes it very simple for customers to obtain product-related information, suggestions, and complaints. In addition to providing services in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Telkom Witel Medan employs various strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Telkom Witel Medan uses two ways of measuring IndiHome customer satisfaction: a complaint and suggestion system and a customer satisfaction survey system, such as distributing questionnaires to customers regarding service quality and customer satisfaction with IndiHome products.

Abstract

The Old Age Security Program or usually called JHT is a protection program that is held with the aim of ensuring that participants receive cash when entering retirement, experiencing permanent total disability, or death. This study aims to find out what are the requirements that are attached when submitting an old-age security claim, the procedure for claiming an old-age security, the requirements for an old-age security claim, and obstacles or problems that occur during the old-age security claim process. This research was conducted at the BPJS Employment of Medan City branch office. In the research conducted, researchers used qualitative research to obtain results based on data that were searched, collected, processed, and analyzed to confirm the desired results. This study used two data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the payment of claims at BPJST employment of Medan City Branch Office has been maximized, fast in the process, on target, and on time. BPJS employment of Medan Branch Office has fulfilled the concept of fairness of distribution in the payment of claims, so as to provide a better quality of life for its participants. In accordance with the mission of BPJS, that the program aims to ensures the safety and prosperity of all workers and their families.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of transformational leadership and Islamic work ethics on employee performance, with organizational commitment serving as a mediating variable in Islamic financial institutions in North Sumatra, Indonesia. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method involving 200 employees from various Islamic financial institutions. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to simultaneously examine the relationships among the study variables. The findings reveal that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on both employee performance and organizational commitment. Similarly, Islamic work ethics significantly enhance organizational commitment and employee performance, indicating the importance of ethical values in promoting positive workplace outcomes. Furthermore, organizational commitment exerts a positive and significant influence on employee performance and mediates the relationships between transformational leadership and employee performance, as well as between Islamic work ethics and employee performance. These results suggest that the integration of transformational leadership practices with Islamic work ethics fosters stronger organizational commitment, which in turn contributes to higher employee performance. The study provides empirical evidence supporting the strategic role of leadership and ethical values in improving organizational effectiveness within Islamic financial institutions. The findings offer practical implications for managers and policymakers seeking to strengthen employee commitment and optimize organizational performance by cultivating transformational leadership behaviors and reinforcing Islamic ethical principles in the workplace.

Abstract

This study explores how consumer trust affects purchasing decisions on Indonesia's Shopee e-commerce platform. With the rise of online shopping, trust has become crucial in consumer behavior. The research addresses the gap in understanding trust's influence in online marketplaces by evaluating the perspectives of 150 active Shopee users and 50 sellers through a mixed-method approach. The findings reveal that trust is a key factor in purchasing decisions, driving sales and customer loyalty. Educational efforts on transparency, product authenticity, and responsive customer service, along with government collaboration for education and security, effectively build trust. The study concludes that maintaining consumer trust, supported by government partnerships, is vital for Shopee's market competitiveness. The implications suggest that emphasizing trust not only enhances customer retention but also supports long-term business growth

Abstract

This research aims to analyse the effectiveness of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technology in accelerating the settlement process of Sharia insurance claims at PT Asuransi Allianz Life Syariah Medan Branch. The main focus of this research is to measure the impact of AI technology on customer satisfaction and the company's performance in handling Sharia insurance claims. Using qualitative research methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews with company representatives and analysis of the company's internal documents. The research results indicate that AI technology has significantly contributed to improving operational efficiency, speed, and accuracy in claim resolution. The implementation of AI enables more effective process automation, faster decision-making, and more accurate identification of potential fraud. Furthermore, the use of AI also supports the enhancement of compliance with Sharia principles, ensuring that all processes and decisions are in line with Sharia law. This research provides valuable insights for insurance companies looking to implement AI technology in their operations, particularly within the scope of Sharia insurance.

Abstract

This study examines the profitability and break-even point of a broiler farming enterprise operating under a partnership model at Sikaf Farm, Manik Hataran Village, Simalungun Regency. Adopting a quantitative approach, the research is based on primary data collected through observation, interviews, and field notes. The analysis employed break-even point (BEP) and profitability assessment techniques. The findings indicate that Sikaf Farm exceeded the break-even threshold, with a minimum production requirement of 1,415 kg and a minimum price of 4,311.06/kg, while actual production reached 89,408 kg. Despite this, profitability measures reveal that the enterprise remains financially suboptimal, reflected in a revenue-cost (R/C) ratio of 0.81 and a profit margin of only 3.03%. These figures suggest that profits are still relatively low and that the business may experience losses during certain production cycles. High broiler mortality rates and inefficiencies in operational cost management constitute the principal challenges. To improve profitability and ensure the sustainability of the partnership model, it is crucial to enhance technical management practices, increase cost efficiency in housing systems, and strengthen collaboration with the core company

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies as an effort to maintain customer loyalty in purchasing UMKM products. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques conducted through observation and interviews. The collected data were analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors related to customer relationship management strategies. The results provide strategic recommendations for UMKM Jangek Berkah and Sate Padang Ajo Faisal to optimize customer data management, including information from non-regular customers, as these customers have the potential to develop into loyal customers in the future. Furthermore, the findings emphasize the importance of continuous product innovation and effective marketing strategies to strengthen competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market. The implementation of CRM strategies enables UMKM to build stronger relationships with customers, improve customer retention, and create sustainable business growth. This study contributes practical insights for UMKM managers in utilizing customer relationship strategies to enhance loyalty and maintain competitive advantage.

Abstract

The rapid digitalisation of Indonesia’s sharia insurance industry has not been matched by an equally rich understanding of how agents and customers experience it daily, particularly whether efficiency gains are matched by faithful communication of sharia values. This study examines the role of information technology and innovation in digital sharia insurance services at PT Prudential Syariah, Medan Branch. A descriptive-analytic qualitative approach was used, with four informants two active agents and two customers of at least one year selected through purposive sampling for their sustained engagement with the PRUServices application and the E-Withdrawal feature. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana trustworthiness was maintained through triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, and audit trail. The findings show that PRUServices and E-Withdrawal improved operational efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in ways informants associated with sharia openness and fairness (‘adl). However, digital-literacy gaps, uneven infrastructure, and limited understanding of concepts such as akad and tabarru’ continued to constrain adoption among older customers, and agents occupied a dual role as technical mediators and communicators of sharia values. The study concludes that successful digitalisation depends on balancing technological ease with sustained value education and personal companionship, offering practical implications for agent-training design and theoretical implications for applying diffusion-of-innovation and disruptive-innovation frameworks to value-laden financial services.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven the transformation of payment systems and financial transactions, particularly through digital banking and financial technology (fintech) facilities, resulting in increased e-commerce usage. Drawing upon the Techonology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the theoretical foundation, this study aims to analyze the influence of banking and financial technology (fintech) facilities on Shopee e commerce usage among students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN North Sumatra class of 2022. This study used a quantitative method with a survey approach by distributing questionnaires to 91 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software, and validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests were conducted. The findings showed that partially banking and financial technology transaction facilities have a positive and significant influence on Shopee e-commerce usage. Simultaneously, both independent variables also have a significant influence on Shopee e-commerce usage. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) value of 0.968 indicates that 96.8% of the variation in Shopee e-commerce usage can be explained by banking and financial technology transaction facilities, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the study. The key finding reveals that fintech demonstrates a more dominant influence , reflecting higher perceived usefulness and ease of use through seamless platform integration, faster processing, and embedded incentives. The practical implication emphasize the need for banking institutions to enhance mobile banking UX/UI to match e-wallet flexibility, while universities should strengthen Islamic financial literacy programs addressing PayLater usage among students. The theoretical contribution extends the application of TAM in explaining digital payment adoption within Islamic economics contexts.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors influencing employment decisions among married women in Deli Serdang from an Islamic perspective. These decisions are shaped by social, economic, cultural, and religious factors, with Islamic ethics and Sharia serving as key considerations for women's roles, especially in economic activities outside the home. Using a quantitative approach with questionnaires and literature review, the study found that employment opportunities significantly affect work decisions, followed by age and family size. While income and education have no significant individual impact, all variables collectively contribute 62.7% to these decisions. Influential factors include family economic needs, social participation, family support, and understanding of women's roles in Islam.
