Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural nation characterized by high diversity in ethnicity, culture, religion, and social backgrounds. This diversity necessitates an educational approach, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), that extends beyond cognitive religious instruction to the cultivation of tolerant, inclusive, and moderate attitudes. This article examines the concepts, implementation, and challenges of internalizing multicultural values within the Islamic Religious Education curriculum in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative library research approach, data were collected from academic books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents, and analyzed through content analysis. The findings reveal that multicultural values in IRE are firmly grounded in Islamic teachings, including tolerance (tasamuh), justice (al-‘adl), equality (musawah), and human brotherhood (ukhuwah insaniyyah). These values can be integrated into learning objectives, instructional materials, teaching methods, and assessment practices. However, the internalization of multicultural values in schools faces several challenges, such as curriculum limitations, teachers’ capacity and resistance, students’ social dynamics, and the influence of identity politics and the broader social environment. Therefore, systematic and sustainable efforts are required to strengthen the integration of multicultural values in the IRE curriculum to promote religious moderation and preserve national unity.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of financial technology (Fintech) adoption on the operational efficiency of commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2019 to 2023. Employing a quantitative causal-associative method and panel data regression analysis, the research explores how Fintech-driven digital transactions influence banks’ cost structures and efficiency ratios. Data were drawn from annual financial statements and digital transaction reports of four major banks: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia, PT Bank Mandiri, and PT Bank Central Asia. The results reveal that Fintech adoption has a significant and negative effect on both Operating Cost to Operating Income (OCOI) and Cost-to-Income Ratio (CIR), indicating that increased digital transaction activity leads to lower operational costs and improved efficiency. These findings demonstrate that Fintech plays a pivotal role in enhancing banking performance by reducing transaction expenses, optimizing resource allocation, and promoting service accessibility. The study contributes to academic discourse and provides strategic insights for banking practitioners and regulators to strengthen digital transformation policies and foster inclusive Fintech adoption in Indonesia’s financial ecosystem.

Abstract

The food and beverage sector is a strategic sector that has a significant contribution to driving Indonesia's economic growth. However, in the 2019–2024 period, this sector experienced pressure due to high food inflation, rising raw material costs, and weakening public purchasing power which affected stock return fluctuations. (2) This condition is the background to this study which aims to examine the effect of Earning Per Share (EPS), Return on Equity (ROE), and Net Profit Margin (NPM) on stock returns in food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). (3) This study uses a quantitative approach with a panel data regression analysis method processed using EViews 12 software, with a total sample of 18 companies during the 2019–2024 period. (4) The results of the analysis show that both partially and simultaneously, the EPS, ROE, and NPM variables do not have a significant effect on stock returns. This indicates that profitability performance has not been able to provide a positive signal for investors in assessing the potential for stock returns. (5) Thus, the results of this study do not support Signaling Theory and provide an indication that stock return movements in the food and beverage sub-sector are more influenced by external factors such as food inflation and macroeconomic conditions compared to the company's internal financial performance.

Abstract

This research is motivated by various factors, including the need to understand how village mentoring acts as a facilitator, helping bridge the capacity gap between national policy and implementation at the village level, particularly in Nagari Salimpaung. This research is a field research study. The qualitative method employed a descriptive analysis approach, with data obtained through direct, in-depth interviews and supporting documentation. The results of this study reveal that village facilitators play a crucial role as facilitators in the community empowerment process in Nagari Salimpaung. This role has successfully increased community involvement in the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of village development programs. First, the implementation of the community empowerment program in Nagari Salimpaung through village facilitation has resulted in increased capacity of Nagari institutions, strengthened the local economy, and improved the basic foundations that support community activities. Second, despite showing positive results, community empowerment in Nagari Salimpaung still faces several obstacles, including limited huma resources, minimal budget support, and the community's attitude toward change.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital educational reading game based on the local wisdom of the Sasak tribe to improve the reading skills of second-grade elementary school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments included validation questionnaires for media and material experts, teacher and student response questionnaires, and an early reading skills test. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to determine feasibility and practicality percentages, while effectiveness was measured using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) formula to assess the improvement between pre-test and post-test scores. The results showed that the developed game was highly feasible, with a percentage of 97.8% from two media experts and 95% from two material experts. The game was also categorized as highly practical, with teacher response percentages of 98.6% and student response percentages of 95.7% and 97.8%. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis indicated that the game was effective in improving students’ early reading skills in two schools, achieving 74.15% (moderately effective) at SDN 1 Buwun Mas and 76.37% (effective) at SDN 4 Buwun Mas. Therefore, the developed digital educational game is considered feasible, practical, and effective for second-grade reading instruction. The findings contribute theoretically to the literature on Game-Based Learning and Place-Based Education and provide practical implications for the design of culturally responsive instructional media.
