Abstract

The low ability of students to think critically and creatively in elementary education negatively impacts the learning process, resulting in suboptimal outcomes. Education plays an important role for every student, especially primary school education, in developing critical thinking and creativity skills. In the era of Society 5.0, which is full of competition, students need to be aware of the rapidly advancing technological developments. Therefore, a technology-focused learning approach is needed. The STEAM approach is a learning method that can encourage students to enhance their information processing and communication skills for critical thinking, while also boosting their creativity in connecting various facts and phenomena encountered during the learning process. This research aims to analyze the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) learning approach in education, so that students can enhance their critical thinking and creativity skills. The research method used in this study is a literature review, by analyzing theoretical references from various Sinta journals that align with the implementation of the STEAM approach. This STEAM approach can improve students' critical thinking and creativity skills, enabling them to better develop their competencies.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki kontribusi yang sangat signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan suatu negara dan Kurikulum Merdeka adalah inovasi terbaru untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia. Fokus utama kurikulum ini pada pembelajaran berdiferensiasi adalah menekankan pada pentingnya fleksibilitas dalam pendekatan pembelajaran untuk mengakomodasi perbedaan individu. Kurikulum ini tidak hanya digunakan di dalam negeri tetapi juga digunakan oleh Sekolah Indonesia di luar negeri. Sekolah Indonesia Johor Bahru merupakan salah satu sekolah Indonesia yang beroperasi di luar negeri, juga memainkan peran penting dalam menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka. Analisis mendalam mengenai permasalahan di sekolah tersebut, menunjukkan beberapa tantangan kritis. Para guru di sekolah tersebut mengalami kesulitan dalam mendesain dan menerapkan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi yang terkait dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru terkait penyusunan desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dan melatih guru dalam menyusun desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi di lingkungan heterogen Sekolah Indonesia Johor Bahru sebagai implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah dan workshop tentang merancang desain pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka di Sekolah Indonesia Johor Bahru. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan, guru-guru di Sekolah Indonesia Johor Bahru sudah mampu menyusun desain pembelajaran diferensiasi dengan sangat baik.

Abstract

Pengenalan strategi belajar mandiri memfasilitasi peran guru baik dalam pengembangan kurikulum maupun proses pembelajaran. Dalam pembelajaran mandiri, guru berfungsi sebagai pendamping belajar yang didukung oleh keterampilan profesional, pedagogik, personal, dan sosial, serta harus mampu merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran yang dilaksanakannya. Penelitian mengenai masalah penilaian pembelajaran menunjukkan kesamaan yang sama yaitu kompetensi guru dalam kegiatan penilaian masih sangat rendah. Fakta ini didukung oleh persepsi bahwa banyak guru di bidang ini masih menganggap penilaian tidak penting dan fokus pada pengajaran konten sebanyak mungkin. Kegunaan penelitian ini adalah untuk membantu guru memahami pentingnya kompetensi yang dibutuhkan ketika melaksanakan kegiatan penilaian pembelajaran pada kurikulum mandiri. penilaian tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan kurikulumnya sendiri, (2) melaksanakan kegiatan evaluasi guru dalam melaksanakan kurikulumnya sendiri, dan (3) kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan penilaian pembelajaran pada kurikulumnya sendiri adalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur review dengan studi literatur. Metode ini mengumpulkan data baik dari artikel jurnal maupun beberapa diskusi pendidikan lainnya, termasuk berbagai informasi dan referensi.Hasil penelitian ini adalah bagaimana kompetensi guru mempengaruhi praktik penilaian.

Abstract

Peserta yang memiliki rasa kurang percaya diri perlu diberikan layanan konselor oleh guru. Layanan konselor membantu siswa dalam mengatasi rasa kurang percaya diri, pada SDIT Azzhahiriyah terdapat siswa yang mengalami rasa kurang percaya diri, maka dari itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan layanan konselor pada siswa yang kurang percaya diri. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah membantu siswa dalam upaya mengembalikan rasa percaya diri yang rendah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui metode kualitatif serta diperkuat melalui studi literatur. Dengan mengetahui penerapan layanan konselor untuk siswa yang memiliki rasa percaya diri yang rendah harapannya siswa dapat kembali mempunyai rasa percaya diri yang tinggi agar mampu tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan siswa kelas XI di SMAN 2 Siak Hulu terhadap penggunaan e-modul berbasis STEM dalam pembelajaran Biologi. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 34 siswa sebagai responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa merasa kurang mampu memahami materi pelajaran Biologi dan cenderung bosan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional yang didominasi ceramah dan pencatatan. Rata-rata persentase kebutuhan siswa terhadap e-modul mencapai 62,99%, yang menandakan perlunya penerapan bahan ajar yang lebih interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keaktifan siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan e-modul berbasis STEM dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dan memenuhi tujuan pendidikan dalam pelajaran Biologi. Oleh karena itu, disarankan agar e-modul ini diintegrasikan dalam kurikulum pembelajaran untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik dan efektif.

Abstract

In the Lhok Geulumpang beach area it has become a tourist location at some point along the coast. Study of the ecology and richness of marine species in Aceh Jaya still a little published. The objective this research was  study the composition of species, indeks diversity and distribution patterns of Echinodermata in the Lhok Geulumpang beach of Aceh Jaya. Research has been conducted in november-december 2019 in the Lhok Geulumpang beach of Aceh Jaya. The mehtod used is a combination of two transect methods i.e. the line transect and the quadrate transect. The first station is the location of the beach with sand substrate and there is no coral rock and the second location is with coral substrate and coral reef.  Species that have been found are collected for identification at the Biology Laboratory of STKIP Bina Bangsa Meulaboh. The results showed there were 3 (three) species of sea urchins belonging to 2 families and 3 orders. Three 3 spcies of sea urchin that have been found are Echinothrix diadema (Linnaeus, 1758), Echinothrix calamaris (Pallas, 1774) and  Colobocentrotus atratus (Linnaeus, 1758). From the results of the analysis found that evenness type (J ') on sandy substrate has a value of J' = 0.93165 and on rock substrate valued J '= 0.84251 indicates evenness of species classified as High. Based on the analysis of the Shannon wiener diversity index (H '). At sandy substrate station H '= 1.4994 shows that species diversity is low. Whereas at the rock substrate station, H'= 1.5096 is classified as moderate diversity. The Malgaref species richness index in the sandy substrate station DMg = 1.2427 and the rock substrate station obtained DMg = 1.0499 indicates the Malgaref species richness index is relatively low

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the validity of module development based on the research outcome on Phytoremediation. This phytoremediation material was one of the topics in the Biotechnology course studied by Biology Education students. The research method used research and development with the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, this research was conducted until the development stage. The data were the percentage of product validity from validation sheets and the responses obtained from validation results by material and media experts. Limited trials were subsequently conducted on students of Biology Education who had taken Biotechnology classes. The data analysis technique used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The validation results based on the material experts were 79.74% (very valid), while based on the learning experts, it was 97.50% (very valid). Then, the results of small group trials obtained a percentage of 90.70% (very valid). moduleModules development was very valid and feasible to be implemented. This module was expected to raise the students’ effectiveness in attending lectures because the source of teaching materials was more applicable.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a rubric used to assess students’ critical thinking. This rubric refers to aspects of Ennis' critical thinking. The research method begins with determining the scope of the rubric so that an initial version of the rubric can be prepared. An initial version of the rubric received peer review. Next, the rubric was tested to assess critical thinking tests with essay-type questions. Data analysis was carried out using Cohen's kappa, while aspects of the critical thinking rubric were analyzed descriptively. The research results show that each aspect of critical thinking has been equipped with descriptors that can be used by raters. The level of reliability based on the kappa value of agreement is quite good, which means that different raters can use the rubric consistently. The value of agreement in the basic clarification aspect is 0.33 (fair), bases for a decision (0.571 in the moderate category), inference (0.455, moderate category), advanced clarification (0.250, fair category, supposition and integration (0.250, fair category), and strategies and tactics (0.182, poor category). Then, it can be concluded that the critical thinking rubric developed can be used to assess critical thinking abilities. As a recommendation, of course, this rubric cannot fulfill all types of critical thinking questions tested. It is also necessary to develop rubrics for question types other than essays to accommodate the wider need for critical thinking rubrics.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-module integrated Problem-Based Learning (PBL), validate the feasibility of the developed e-module, and analyze student responses to its use in learning. The research was conducted at two schools in Riau Province, namely SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu and SMA Negeri 3 Siak Hulu, employing the ADDIE development model, which was focused up to the development stage. Validation was carried out by five experts consisting of subject matter, media, and instructional experts. The instruments employed in this study were a validation sheet and a student response questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the results of the validation test and the students' responses. The validation results indicated a very high level of validity, with an average score of 97% from media experts, 97% from subject matter experts, and 98% from instructional experts. Furthermore, the student response to the e-module usage yielded an average score of 94%, categorized as very good. This e-module was specifically designed for the cell topic in biology, featuring an interactive interface accessible both offline and online. The integration of the PBL model into the e-module was implemented through stages of problem orientation, learning organization, investigation, product development, and analysis and evaluation. Therefore, this study recommends the use of the e-module integrated PBL as an innovative alternative teaching material to improve student learning outcomes and serve as a reference for technology-based instructional material developers.

Abstract

True shallot seed (TSS) is one of the alternative potential technologies to solve the availability of seed quality on shallot in Indonesia. Another problem in shallot production is infection by purple blotch and twisted disease. This research evaluated the potency of Rhizophagus intraradices and Trichoderma asperellum as bioprotectants and biofertilizer. T. asperellum was mixed in the soil before seedling transplanting, and R. intraradices was applied around the seedling roots at transplanting. The observed parameters were the shallot growth (the plant height, number of leaves, and length of root), plant health (disease incidence and intensity), and bulb resistance to Fusarium solani. The result showed that R. intraradices and T. asperellum increased the resistance of onion bulbs to the pathogen F. solani in the postharvest period, indicated by R. intraradices treatment that had an infection area of 21.99 mm2, followed by T. asperellum treatment 26.63 mm2, and control of 37.66 mm2.
