Abstract

Astronomy is a science that is very close to children's daily lives, from recognizing time, day and night, to changes in the position of celestial bodies. However, learning astronomy at the primary and secondary education levels in Indonesia is still very limited, both in terms of materials and learning media available. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Flamouria Galaksi, a visual-interactive learning media in the form of glowing clouds, in improving students' understanding and interest in learning astronomy material, especially about galaxies and nebulae. The research method used is in accordance with development research and with a simple experimental approach with a quantitative approach through pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase in student understanding by 91% after the use of Flamouria Galaksi media. This media is able to turn abstract astronomy concepts into a real and fun learning experience. The interactivity and aesthetic visuals proved to encourage students' active participation and increase their interest in astronomy. These findings suggest that the use of innovative media such as Flamouria Galaksi has great potential in supporting the STEAM learning approach and can be a solution to the low astronomy literacy among Indonesian students.

Abstract

The use of the Internet of Things is currently very useful for the plantation sector, especially mustard greens. The Smart Garden System is still not widely found on plantation land. Smart Garden comes from English which means garden or smart garden, which is a system design created to make work in plantations easier. The aim of making this tool is to help in managing the plants, apart from helping in managing the plants, this Smart Garden can also be used to measure the humidity/air content in the soil, because some people who are cultivating do not know/cannot distinguish which soil is good for certain crops are planted and which are not, resulting in many crops failing to harvest and being detrimental because they wither and die. So it is hoped that this smart garden system can help many farmers in maintaining soil moisture conditions and can minimize damage to plants. "Smart Garden System" Refers to the concept of technology integration in garden or agricultural management to increase efficiency, productivity and loss. This Smart Garden System uses an ESP32 Microcontroller as data processing and control for Soil hygrometer, LED, 16x2 LCD, Water Washer and other components. REFERENCESAbdullah, R. Abstract

Sukabumi Regency in West Java has experienced rapid development, increasing the need for efficient transportation infrastructure to support mobility and goods distribution. One strategic corridor is the Siliwangi Cicurug–Benda Highway section STA 30+000–STA 31+000, which often experiences congestion, particularly during operational disruptions of major infrastructure such as Bocimi Toll Road Section 2. This study analyzes road performance using the PKJI 2023 method before and after the toll road resumed operation. Results show that traffic volume decreased from 4,290 vehicles/hour during toll disruption to 3,788 vehicles/hour after reopening. Road capacity was recorded at 3,352.3 smp/hour, while the degree of saturation (DJ) improved from 0.85 to 0.70, indicating better traffic performance. Traffic growth projections for the next decade show vehicle volume increasing from 2,480.03 smp/hour in 2026 to 3,708.76 smp/hour in 2035, with DJ exceeding the recommended limit of 0.85 starting in 2029 and reaching 1.11 in 2035. Road widening is proposed as a solution, increasing capacity to 4,216.40 smp/hour and reducing DJ from 0.74 to 0.59, thus improving performance. However, projections indicate DJ may again exceed acceptable limits by 2035, suggesting the need for additional long-term traffic management strategies to maintain optimal road performance.

Abstract

Reproductive health is a crucial aspect of individual and community life. Factors influencing reproductive health include social, economic, cultural, and environmental factors. School Health Units (UKS) are educational units' efforts to instill, foster, develop, and enhance healthy living skills. Reproductive health issues prevalent among adolescents represent a small fraction of the overall reproductive health problem. Therefore, one effort that can be taken is to establish and activate School Health Units. These School Health Units (UKS) play a crucial role in helping to increase knowledge about adolescent reproductive health through various means, including providing appropriate and correct education on adolescent reproductive health, so that students can obtain reliable information. The material was delivered through lectures, discussions, and Q&A sessions with participants using flipcharts. After the education, each young woman was asked to explain reproductive health to her friends and was divided into two groups. This was so that the Community Service team could monitor the young women's ability to educate their peers. The results showed an increase in knowledge of 90% and sufficient knowledge of 10%. It is hoped that the Health Unit (UKS) will continue to monitor the increase in knowledge of young women about reproductive health. This is certainly very necessary for young women who manage the UKS in managing the UKS related to reproductive health.

Abstract

Reproductive health (Kespro) is an important aspect that should be introduced from adolescence, as this period is a transition to adulthood marked by physical, psychological, and social changes. A lack of understanding of reproductive health can lead to risky behavior among adolescents. This community service activity was carried out at SMP Pertiwi 1 Kota Jambi with the aim of optimizing the role of the School Health Unit (UKS) in improving students’ knowledge of reproductive health. The method used was health education through counseling, interactive presentations, and group discussions. The activity was conducted from March to August 2025. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test instruments administered to 10 UKS team students. The results showed that before education, the students’ level of knowledge was in the good category for 8 students (80%), sufficient for 2 students (20%), and poor for 0 students (0%). After education, students’ knowledge improved to the good category for all 10 students (100%), while sufficient and poor categories were not found (0%). Although most students already have good knowledge, there are still 20% of students with sufficient knowledge. Education is needed to align the understanding of all members of the Health and Safety Team, prevent information gaps between students, and ensure all participants have correct and standardized knowledge. These findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ knowledge after receiving education. Thus, this activity proves that reproductive health education through the optimization of the UKS team is effective in increasing knowledge and creating positive changes before and after implementation. It is expected that similar programs can be carried out sustainably so that students gain adequate provisions to maintain reproductive health from an early age.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a chronic disease that spreads very easily and quickly, posing a national and global health threat. Indonesia ranks second in the world for the highest number of pulmonary TB cases, after India. Low public knowledge, stigma, access to healthcare services, and the long duration of treatment for pulmonary TB are contributing factors to the increase in pulmonary TB cases in Indonesia. The importance of empowering communities and health cadres to prevent transmission and supervise medication intake in pulmonary TB patients aligns with the National Pulmonary TB Elimination Program 2030. This community service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of communities and health cadres in recognizing risk factors, preventing transmission, and supervising treatment for pulmonary TB. The service activity was held on July 17, 2025, and was attended by 22 participants from the community and health cadres. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with pre and post tests. Subsequently, education was conducted using interactive face-to-face lectures, discussions, practical demonstrations of effective coughing and cough etiquette, and the distribution of informative leaflets. The follow-up session for the patients' families will be held on July 20, 2025, to conduct direct monitoring at one of the homes of patients with pulmonary TB. The empowerment activities significantly improved the knowledge (p-value 0.004) and behavior (p-value 0.003) of the community and pulmonary TB cadres. The average knowledge score before the activity was 68 (66-74) and increased to 85 (79-91) after the activity. Similarly, the average behavior score increased from 63 (56-74) to 76 (67-87). Health empowerment through education, counseling, and training, as well as the direct use of brochures, proved highly effective in increasing awareness and competence in controlling pulmonary TB. The empowerment activities successfully increased the contribution of health cadres in preventing and early detecting transmission, as well as monitoring the treatment of pulmonary TB patients. There needs to be increased active participation from the community, health cadres, and community leaders so that pulmonary TB elimination can be achieved, especially in the Legok Village.
