Abstract

Mathematical Communication Skills (MCS) play a vital role in helping students structure their thinking and express mathematical ideas clearly and logically. Unfortunately, this skill remains relatively low due to limited interaction during instruction and the dominance of teacher-centered learning models. One innovative approach believed to address this issue is Project-Based Learning (PjBL), which positions students as active agents in the learning process. Numerous studies have indicated that PjBL can enhance MCS; however, it remains unclear which educational level and group size are most optimal for its implementation. This study aims to analyze the overall effect of PjBL on students’ MCS, as well as its impact across educational levels and sample sizes. A meta-analysis was conducted on eight published articles selected using PRISMA guidelines and analyzed using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software. Effect sizes were calculated using Hedge’s g to measure the magnitude of the difference between the experimental and control groups. The results revealed that PjBL had a significant and moderately (0,785) effective impact on MCS, with students taught through PjBL demonstrating an average of 78.38% higher MCS compared to those in conventional learning environments. The highest effectiveness was found at the junior high school level, which aligns with Piaget’s view that students at this stage are in the concrete operational stage and are more responsive to activity-based and collaborative learning. Furthermore, PjBL was more effective when applied in smaller group sizes, as it allowed for more intensive interaction and support. However, the limited number and diversity of studies analyzed indicate a need for further research with broader coverage and more in-depth moderator analysis to obtain a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of social inequality in law enforcement in Indonesia and how economic, power, educational, and gender factors influence access to justice. The phenomenon of legal inequality indicates that the Indonesian legal system has not fully implemented the principle of equality before the law. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected through analysis of various secondary sources such as scientific journals. The results show that inequality in law enforcement is still influenced by economic factors, where the poor have difficulty obtaining adequate legal assistance, while influential groups have the financial capacity to influence the legal process. In addition, low legal literacy, geographical inequality, and gender bias also exacerbate inequality in the legal system. Discriminatory practices by law enforcement officers against lower-class communities also weaken public trust in legal institutions. This study emphasizes the importance of structural reform in the legal system so that justice can be accessed equally regardless of social class.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented in response to the high usage of social media among students, particularly Instagram, which often becomes a platform for cyberbullying. This phenomenon becomes increasingly complex when students come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Comments or posts considered normal in one culture may be perceived as offensive in another. A lack of cultural sensitivity often triggers digital conflict and bullying, which can negatively impact students' mental health. This PKM aims to improve students’ understanding of the dangers of cyberbullying and the importance of cross-cultural communication ethics. The program began with a pre-test to assess participants' initial knowledge, followed by an interactive seminar discussing the concepts of cyberbullying, digital ethics, and real-life case studies. Students then engaged in group discussions and simulations, where they analyzed problematic digital content and formulated empathetic, constructive responses. At the end of the activity, a post-test was conducted to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ awareness and attitudes. This program successfully encouraged students to be more thoughtful and responsible in their online interactions and to become change agents in creating a safer, more inclusive digital environment. The outcomes of this program include a scholarly publication, an educational video disseminated on social media, and quantitative data showing an increase in participants’ knowledge. Overall, this initiative contributes to strengthening multicultural digital literacy among today’s youth.

Abstract: The crisis of public trust in law enforcement officials, especially the police, has become a recurring obstacle in efforts to realize fair law enforcement in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the crisis of public trust in the police by focusing on the demonstration event in August 2025. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a literature review approach. The research subjects include various secondary data sources in the form of books, scientific journals, media articles, research reports, online media reports, community organization reports, legal documents, and laws and regulations. Data collection is carried out through library research and documentation studies to systematically review various academic literature and official documents. The data obtained was analyzed using content analysis techniques through the process of reduction, coding, and narrative synthesis. The results of the study show that the August 2025 demonstration showed tension between the community and the police due to repressive actions that caused casualties, one of which in the case of Affan Kurniawan, the incident triggered a wave of protests on social media through hashtags such as #ACAB, #PolisiPembunuh, #PolisiMusuhBersama, and #PoliceKillerRakyat. This phenomenon indicates a crisis of public trust stemming from weak accountability, inequality in law enforcement, and abuse of authority that violates the principles of legality and humanity. This research emphasizes the importance of institutional reform based on a humanist, participatory, and accountable approach to restore legitimacy and restore public trust as the main foundation for the creation of a just legal system. Keywords: law enforcement agencies; demonstration; public trust; repressive actios.
