Abstract

Regular evaluation of the Islamic education curriculum is crucial to ensure the quality, effectiveness, and relevance of learning, particularly in shaping students' character and applying religious values in their daily lives. This journal aims to analyze the basic concepts of Islamic education curriculum evaluation, identify the challenges faced, and formulate necessary follow-up actions. This research uses a descriptive library research method with a content analysis approach. The analysis was conducted by reviewing research results from the most relevant to the least relevant, starting from the newest research year to the oldest. The results show that curriculum evaluation is a systematic and continuous stage to validate and ensure the reliability of data to determine policies related to the curriculum, which includes learning objectives, content, and methods. Challenges in evaluating Islamic education curriculum stem from internal and external factors, including the achievement of eight national education standards, population growth, character education issues, and an inadequate paradigm in understanding the curriculum. As a follow-up, cooperative efforts from stakeholders are needed to produce an integrated curriculum and develop teacher professionalism sustainably, supported by programs such as pre-service education, in-service education, and in-service training. Islamic education curriculum evaluation is essential to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of learning. By addressing challenges through an integrated curriculum and the development of professional educators, it is hoped that students will be formed who are capable of facing the dynamics of the times.

Abstract

Low environmental awareness in schools, particularly in the utilization of vacant land, organic waste management, and the need for greening, is the background for this community service program. The objective of the activity is to increase the awareness and skills of school members in environmental conservation. This community service program was implemented as part of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) at SMP and SMAS Karya Gedeg, Ngares Village, Mojokerto Regency. The methods used included field reviews, socialization, practical demonstrations of tree planting and organic fertilizer production (solid and liquid compost), student mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. As an integral part of the program, a School Waste Bank was also established to manage inorganic waste and introduce the circular economy to students. The results of the activities showed high enthusiasm from the participants. Some of the tangible achievements included the planting of trees in the school area, the successful demonstration of organic fertilizer production, and the operation of a waste bank managed by the Student Council. The impacts included increased environmental awareness, skills in processing organic waste, the creation of green spaces, and a culture of waste sorting among students. In conclusion, this program has successfully fostered awareness among the younger generation and provided practical skills in preserving the ecosystem. For sustainability, it is recommended that schools continue the program consistently, students apply their knowledge at home, and local governments provide support. This activity has the potential to become a model for school-based environmental management that can be replicated in other regions.

Abstract

Abstract

This study explores the application of digital technology in education by teachers in Indonesia and its impact on learning quality. Using qualitative research methods, in-depth interviews were conducted with 8 teachers who integrate digital tools such as Canva, Quizizz, ChatGPT, Google, and YouTube in their lessons. The findings reveal that digital technologies enhance the creation of engaging and interactive learning materials, significantly boosting student engagement and motivation. Tools like Quizizz and YouTube have proven effective in deepening students' understanding of the material, while ChatGPT provides immediate feedback. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, technological access, and students' digital skills gap remain. This study emphasizes the need for educational policies that promote equal access to technology and suggests more comprehensive training for both teachers and students to optimize the use of digital tools in education. The findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on digital transformation in the era of Education 4.0.

Abstract

The period from 2018 to 2025 has been marked by profound macroeconomic turbulence and transformation, shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, climate shocks, and rapid technological change. This literature review synthesizes scholarly and institutional research on the evolution of key macroeconomic indicators, such as inflation, unemployment, GDP growth, fiscal and monetary policy, global trade, and post-pandemic recovery, while integrating cross-cutting themes of compensation, environmental factors, and job satisfaction. Drawing on data from the World Bank, IMF, UNCTAD, ILO, and recent peer-reviewed studies, the review highlights the interplay between policy responses and macroeconomic outcomes, the shifting dynamics of global trade and finance, and the persistent challenges of inequality, debt, and climate risk. Special attention is given to country case studies (United States, Euro Area, China, Indonesia) and to the methodological advances in macroeconomic research during this period. The findings reveal that while the global economy demonstrated resilience in the face of unprecedented shocks, recovery has been uneven and fragile, with developing economies bearing disproportionate burdens. Inflation surged to multi-decade highs before moderating, labor markets experienced both acute disruptions and rapid rebounds, and fiscal and monetary authorities deployed extraordinary measures, often in coordination, to stabilize economies. Yet, the legacy of heightened debt, persistent inequality, and climate vulnerability underscores the need for integrated, forward-looking policy frameworks. The review concludes by identifying gaps in the literature and proposing avenues for future research, particularly in the integration of environmental and social dimensions into macroeconomic analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at Wijaya Kusuma Banjar Margo Junior High School in Tulang Bawang Regency and analyze its impact on student activity and critical thinking skills. The background of this study is based on low learning interest, student participation, and PAI learning outcomes that have not reached the minimum completion criteria due to the dominant use of lecture methods in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with research subjects including the principal, PAI teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model in PAI learning is able to increase student engagement, encourage critical thinking skills, and help students understand the material through problem solving related to everyday life. Students become more courageous in expressing their opinions, working together in groups, and taking responsibility for the learning process. However, the implementation of PBL has not been optimal due to limited learning time, differences in student characteristics, and student readiness to participate in problem-based learning. Thus, the Problem Based Learning model can be an effective alternative learning strategy in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education learning if it is supported by careful planning and good time management and adequate infrastructure support.

Abstract

This study examines how teachers contribute to the development of discipline and responsibility among elementary students, focusing on State Elementary School Puncu 2 in Kediri Regency. The research aims to examine the specific roles teachers play in fostering these character traits and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors that Influence their implementation. A qualitative case study design was applied, involving teachers and upper-grade students as participants. Data were gathered through classroom observations, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and examined using an interactive analytical framework comprising data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Credibility was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that teachers function as moral exemplars, facilitators, classroom organizers, and evaluators in cultivating students’ discipline and responsibility. Character formation is implemented through structured habituation, consistent rule enforcement, reflective habit journals, classroom duty systems, daily task checklists, and positive reinforcement strategies. The effectiveness of these efforts is supported by strong teacher commitment, principal leadership, collaborative engagement with parents, and a conducive school culture. Conversely, variations in family background, inconsistent reinforcement at home, and limited student self-awareness present notable challenges. Overall, the study concludes that sustained teacher consistency, school-family partnership, and an enabling educational environment are decisive factors in successfully embedding discipline and responsibility at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of women's aurah in Islam through the thought of Fatimah Mernissi by placing it within the framework of Michel Foucault's discourse analysis. This research aims to analyze how Mernissi reconstructs the understanding of aurat through a hermeneutical-feminist approach and examine the relevance of her thinking in the context of Indonesian Islam. The method used is a qualitative approach with library research, through systematic discourse analysis, including the identification of the formation of the discourse of the interpretation of the aurat, the analysis of the power-knowledge relationship, and the reading of Mernissi's thought as the object of discourse. The results of the study show that aurat can be understood as a discursive construct created through the legitimacy of religious interpretation and negotiated in the dynamics of the Islamic women's movement in Indonesia. Therefore, the concept of aurah not only serves as a theological standard, but also as a place where meaning is created and resolved in modern Islamic discussions
